Sick for the weekend #2

Well, I woke up this morning to Mr. McBossy Pants. I guess if I give him an inch he'll take my right arm. He was trying to get me to take MORE Nyquil. Really? I just woke up from a 9-hour slumber. He must like the peace and quiet when I'm out cold. And I HAD to eat breakfast at the table with him instead of on the couch! What?? Power trip? I think when he gets back from church we shall return to the normal ways of Whitney being the boss. Mrs. Whitney Boss has a fair happy-medium we both can handle.
I do, however, want to mention that I had the most delicious French toast for dinner on Friday night, complete with fresh sliced strawberries, whipped cream and powdered sugar. Then, for breakfast Saturday morning, Mr. McBossy Pants made me a beautiful bowl of oatmeal with fresh strawberries and banana slices. So soothing on my sore throat. Mmm mmm gooooood.
My eyelids are getting heavy...I can feel the Nyquil kicking in... adios.

NCAA week

Tuesday night we went to the #1 ranked OSU vs. #12 Purdue game with the Tolmans, Jumps, and Muirs. We blew them out and scored over 70 points... who knows what that means? FREE McDonald's french fries!!
Wednesday #9 BYU played #4 SDSU at home. It was an awesome game and I think BYU ended up winning by 13. Definitely the highlight of my week. I'm so glad it was on CBS College Sports because we actually get that channel.
Unfortunately, the wind was taken out of my sail by their loss yesterday to unranked New Mexico. Ugh. So irritating. I don't really have much more to say about that.

Sick for the weekend

Being sick when you're married to Devon means no chores, no cooking, no nothing. (Does that double negative count?) It means only rest, taking medicine, watching TV, and lying on the couch. I'm kinda starting to like this whole being sick thing. He is really good at babying me...

Three Years!

We celebrated our three-year anniversary on January 12 by going out to eat at Smith and Wollensky. The food was delicious (and expensive)! Over dinner, we talked about highlights from each of the three years we've been married as well as from dating and being engaged. It was a blast to reflect and reminisce. I think we could have gone on and on forever. Let's just say we've been very blessed and have had SO many good times. I am so in love and so grateful we can be together forever!
I get to see this cute face everyday!
Beautiful lights at Easton

And... our first bedding set EVER! It was our anniversary present to each other. We got a steal of a deal. And it was about time, right??

Cleveland New Year

Cleveland was awesome. Our first adventure outside Columbus, Ohio was perfect. We were able to do a little sight-seeing, shopping, eating and hanging out.
Thursday December 30: Trivia night at Melt (delicious gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches)
Friday December 31 (Day): sight-seeing in the city
The Q
Indians stadium
Browns stadium
NASA Science Center
Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame
I love the architecture of the building.
Front shot of the Hall of Fame
I took pictures of many more buildings and bridges, but I have to highlight the sports arenas, naturally.
Friday December 31 (Night): Dinner at Le Petit Triangle
Dinner was fabulously French and surprisingly affordable. Our dessert crepe sent floods of Paris memories splashing through my mind. Glorious.
A drunk guy rode by on a bike shortly after this picture (below) and insisted on taking a picture of our whole party for us. Devon was REALLY hesitant, so the man practically grabbed the camera out of his hand. I thought, "There goes $200 bucks," but he didn't steal it! I thought it was very kind for him to stop and take our picture, but he was a little too wobbly to count on quality. Thank you, drunk man, for not stealing our camera on your get-away bike.
Fantastic tour guides: Zach and Amanda
Zach is one of Devon's good friends from law school.
