Aino~~~~~~

I just got my new phone today.

My dad was gonna go buy his Omnia and when my bro tagged along with him, they bought mine too!! it was a pleasant surprise. Even more so when my dad said it's a gift. I luv u daddy! haha....

So yeah, I got my new phone today, and I spent the whole day configuring the phone. Getting it to go online, surf the web using wifi. The only problem I have now is that I can't load youtube, even though there's a special application designed specially for youtube. Hmmmm....

This is the phone that I got.

it's a SE U10i. AKA Aino, the in between of SE Satio and Yuri.

it acts as a multimedia phone that allows one to control videos, music, pictures and podcast with a touch of the finger. Literally! It's a touch screen phone and some of you may wonder, why did I get this if I don't like touch screen. Well, the beauty of Aino is that, it comes with a normal keypad as well! Look picture below.

I like it cause it actually allows me to control stuff through the screen (its only reserve for the media stuff so that means I can't accidentally touch something and send something out without realizing it) and it has a normal keypad that will help me especially when I need to make a phone call or type a message while my eyes are diverted somewhere else ie: lecturer's face with an innocent look.

I know some people thinks that it's not that great, but it fulfilled all the criteria that I wanted for a phone. I wanted a phone that has built in wifi which means no more lugging the heavy laptop everywhere I go, a slide phone, looks beautiful (in my eyes ler) and has decent applications. The aino fulfills all the criteria and more.

Aino was first created as a remote player (I think that's what they called it.) for PS 3. but it doesn't matter if I don't have a PS 3 cos after looking at what the phone could do to enhance a PS 3 (ie, acting as the controller), I would still prefer to play it with the PS 3 remote.

Well, at least now my phone can act as my walk along podcast, MP3 player, youtube downloader (have to configure that), facebook checker (as if I don't check it often enough) and my bed side clock as it comes with a charger dock and it shows the clock when it's being docked.

Ohhhh!! the best part of the phone?? It needs no 'kinetic' energy whatsoever unlike my old samsung phone that is only willing to sent sms and make phone calls if I shake it around until it sends or call. =.= My friends find that phone freaking amusing. Seriously!! my old phone, if the sms is not being sent, I give it a few hard shakes and whee... the sms is sent. though when it reaches the other person at the other end is a whole different matter ler.

Oh yeah, did I mention that the phone can read audio books as well?? time to go dl some and have it 'read' it me for a change. :D

That's all folks!!

a great night

Yesterday was a great night for us. Or, at least for me. I went to MV with my family, feel in love with a phone (cross fingers that my bro is getting it for me now) and meet up with the gang. - Luc, Justin and James.

I received a phone call from Luc, asking about if I am interested in a card game that he wants to buy, and I ended up meeting him and the twins for a while. He went on purchasing the game and I extended the invitation to them to come over for a game after we are done. And come over they did. and much to my delight that its not all testosterones cramming in my room, we have Mae!!

And what a night we had. The game is called Munchkin and there are several series in it. Luc bought the pirate series, much to my delight. Arghh!! walk the plank, matey.

Yeah, anyway, we spent the first hour in my place with luc and I trying to decipher the game, the second hour at my house playing and twitching some rules to make the game more sense and from there it was game on!!

It was much fun battling monsters to level up, losing to a monster and level down and of course, watching everyone else in the game trying to back stab you and make sure that you don't level up. We placed curses, enhancement to help the monsters and trying to counter attack with cards of your own. All this was achieved with some paper stars, a die, some cards and a shitload of imagination.

I was on a winning streak, so the boys targeted me to stop me from leveling up. We groan when we lose a level, we smiled smugly when we manage to counter attack everyone else and still win. While they were all targeting me, Mae was upping levels without anyone noticing!! and yes! she triumphs us all and won the game!!

We headed off to McD for some late night, or rather early morning snacks, chatted a lil while about our wild high school adventures and called the night as I was stoning. =.= Luc was like, lolz, wen is stoning!! but yeah, I always stone when it gets late or when the outing is coming to a close end.

So we left McD and the boys drop me home at about 3. They headed home, I finished reading one of my ebooks and called it a night at 4.30am.

All I can say now is that, I had a great night yesterday, and what a night it was. I am sooo looking forward to the next round of Munchkin booty!!!!

On the mend

Sprained toe joint or gout? that is the question.

seriously. I say it's sprained toe joint while my mom is convinced that it's gout because I have urine acid. But I still say it's sprained toe joint cos all the symptoms are just exactly the same and I have the real bad habit to pull my toe at every single direction whenever I play computer. And when I say pull, I really pull it HARD. so it's really no surprising if it finally sprained. I knew that habit of mine was gonna to get me into trouble one day, but do I stop? Nope! and I have the feeling that it won't stop anytime soon~~

What I was talking about was the pain at my toe that I was complaining about in the past 2 posts. Getting allergic to the med that was issued by the first doc, I didn't want to get back to him again. He seemed unsure of his own treatment when he issued me 5 different medication just for that. And that got me into trouble.

Today, after presentation, which was a torture for me because I could barely stand on my feet and I had to walk to the car and back since my mom didn't want to drive in, we went back to the leng zai doctor that first stabbed me with the tetanus injection. The moment I limped into his office, he was like, is it the rusty nail you stepped on? (I said nail cos screw just sounded tooooo wrong. lol)

I was like, erm no no... it's the other leg. and he seriously started poking and prodding HARD. I can't move my toe and he went pulling it in different directions. OMG! it hurts like crazy!!! it was funny cos he stab at the spot and when I said it hurts, he stab on it again asking the same question! lolz. but I honestly think that he felt more professional than the first doc that just went touch touch and declared the prescription.

Mom gave him the med, and he was totally horrified that the first doc gave me SOOOO many medication. in the end, he decided that I was most probably allergic to the painkillers and gave me another type.

When we asked what may had caused this, he told my mom it was most probably sprain toe joint but it could be caused by gout as well and she being the typical herself, latch onto the gout idea and didn't want to let go. They even discussed how did I get my urine acid. they finally came to the conclusion that it was hereditary. so for now, that means mummy dear is gonna force me to drink more of that green stuff that taste like green tea caused one of it's functions is suppose to be able to flush out urine acid. Is that true? I totally have no idea, but one of my family friend is taking it and claimed he hasn't have a gout attack since then.

Honestly, after taking the med, the pain in my leg subdue more than the first med. but that means the pain killer is way stronger. But now my toe could move!! at first when i put it on the ground, I can't bend it at all so it's sticking out literally like a sore thumb or rather TOE, but now i could flex it down and touch the ground. It makes walking easier, but it still hurts though not as much.

I asked for an MC so that tomorrow I could give it to Bill. I still want to avoid putting pressure on my leg so that means no heels for presentation tomorrow. it won't hurt to get an MC anyway. :D

So yeah. basically, it's on the healing process. FINALLY!! all thanks to the leng zai doc!! maybe it's just me thinking he's leng zai in a way. Mae, u saw him. what u think? lolz.

1@#@!

Now I don't only have a swollen feet that makes me totally immobile, I also have two swollen eyes thanks to allergy!! what the hell? oh yeah, the med that the doc gave which caused the allergy, one of which is a painkiller finally wear off. so it's not only swollen, it's hurting like sh*t. I dont even have the bloody luxury of offing the pain now.

Okay. I am gonna start cursing.

bad year for my leg

Yes. you read the title rite. It's a bad year specifically for my leg. seriously.

remember the 2nd last post that I made was about stepping on a rusty nail and getting a tetanus jab?

well, this post is also about my leg!!

The ball of my feet directly under the first toe on my left leg started aching when I walk yesterday. Since it was nothing new, I decided to ignore it. The pain will usually go away after I put weight off my leg. However, yesterday's ache was different. It lasted until now (yes, it's still aching) and it's painful to the point that I couldn't put weight on it which means walking in HELP and BV lopsided.

For the whole night, I couldn't sleep at all due to the constant sharp throbbing pain radiating from that particular spot. I withstood the pain until 6 am, when I literally burst out in tears. Went to talk to my mom about it, hearing her telling me that it's nothing really didn't do much for me.

Once the damp open its gates, I seriously couldn't stop crying. I think in just 3 hours, I cried like 4-5 times. the pain was becoming unbearable. Mom finally decided that it's not nothing and it's something, she asked my bro to take me to the doc. but I still had to wait till 11.30 for him to be free. so yes, for the whole night and morning, I was writhing in pain. The ball of my feet directly under the big toe is swollen, has intense pain AND I can't move my big toe at all. It's just there, the range of motion is totally gone!

At first, I thought that maybe I did something that caused a crack in the bone since the intensity is so high and I couldn't walk at all. But when I went to doctor, he poked and prodded and pronounced it inflammation although he changed his mind 2 times which is kinda scary. I was in the doc's office for like 2 minutes. Before my bro could park his car, I was done! He gave me 5 types of meds - 2 antibiotics, 3 for swelling and pain killers - I have to eat like 8 tablets of med in total twice a day!! scary!

It took the pain killer some time to take effect and the pain reduced to a slow throbbing. I have no idea if it's because of the pain killer or the ice pack that I dumped on it after reading on the internet that it helps with the pain. Whatever it is, I am glad that it's not as painful anymore.

But for the day, I am stuck on the bed, in my room since doc says no walking, no weight on my feet and no heels. which means, for tomorrow and thurs's presentation I will have to wear flip flops since that's the only shoe I can wear with the swelling. My other sandals are just too constraining.

I still have the consumer take home test to do but depending on my leg, I might skip out on this. After all, he say he will take only 4 out of 5 quizzes, so that give me the choice to skip if I want to. It largely depends on how everything is after my sleep - that if I can sleep with the pain (I only manage to get a total of 15 minutes shut eye since yesterday morning thanks to the leg)

well, isn't it a bad year for my leg? what you think? first stepping on a rusty screw and now this? Sigh... if I didn't take my tetanus jab and the screw jabbed my other leg (sounds wrong!), I would have thought that it was due to the screw. But since it's a totally different leg, I guess not. I suppose both of my legs are trying to get equal with the other? since one get hurt, the other must too? Sigh...

oh well, hopes it get better. and after doing some googling, I wonder if I am experiencing turf toe since the symptoms are exactly the same. Though turf toe is USUALLY caused by sports and I don't do sports whatsoever. but that doesn't mean I can't sprain my toe joints rite?

Looking Back

Looking back at what I once had and what I have now, I realize that a lot of things had changed. For one, some of the closest friends that I once had and vow to never lose them escaped my grip. Somewhere during the process of growing up and going to university, we had forgotten each other and I realize that I miss the camaraderie that we once had.

I suppose this is part of life, losing some of your old friends and gaining new ones, but somehow, my heart still wonder, what would have happened if we have kept in contact? if somehow, both parties had tried harder to keep the friendship? but I suppose there is no purpose on dwelling on the 'what if's' and 'should have's'.

I miss the friendship, the innocences and optimistic view in life. I suppose, we grew up and realize that things aren't as they seem to us back then anymore. Yet, I still miss them.

I suppose what had triggered this blog post was that the curiosity that I suddenly had to check back on the past written work that we had post on winglin. It was then I realized that things are so much different now. For one, we grew up and I realize that the innocences that was once reflected in our writing is no longer there. I looked at the comment page and realize that although the written work suck, we still had support from people around us. We or rather I had innocently believe that it was good. yet, for some reason, I was proud of myself for typing out those words and posted it online.Maybe because it was those very feelings that had sparked my interest in writing the first place. Maybe because I had finally taken the first step and tried my hands on something that I never thought I would do years ago before I actually started.

I wonder, I really can't help but wonder, if I still have the guts to do that? To type out my thoughts, to create an interesting plot for my characters and post it up online for the whole world to see? I used to not care if you don't like my story, yet now, the very thought that someone don't like it scares me. Somewhere in between, I have lost the courage. I no longer have the courage to type out my story, I no longer have the courage to post it up online for the whole wide world to see and I no longer have the courage to properly finish a story. take a look at my computer and there are many drafts of written work, yet not one ever had an ending. All i have were works for competition that had never even been through the shortlist.

I suppose it time to get back the courage to type out my work again. Maybe it's time to stop being afraid and finish what i started. Maybe it's time to stop discarding perfectly good ideas with the thought that it's horrible. It's time to find back the freedom that i once had in writing.

Maybe that is what I am gonna do....

The agony

oh! the agony!

really, this sucks.

I stepped on a bloody rusty screw on tuesday. it literally went through my flip flops!! !@#$# freaking irresponsible people who did construction and didn't clear up after that.

so on wed, I had to drag Mae along with me to get a tetanus jab. hurts like shit wei!! not to mention that after every tetanus jab i take, i will definitely have fever and my arm muscles ache like crazy (this is the second time i take a tetanus jab, but i learnt my lesson not to underestimate it). so yeah, I am sort of having fever now, with it coming and going at it's wish, my arms hurts and i can't lift it up more than 90 degrees without it hurting and I can't sleep on my left side. *wails!!* even the cute doc i saw for the jab wasn't worth it. :(

so yes, I was really grumpy this morning since mommy dear didn't let me take the day off and I was really really moody this morning. so yeah, kesian to mae, eliza and another group member for being stuck with me and my short temper. SRY!!!!!!!!

i guess that's all for now. !@#!$!#@!# stupid rusty screw.

gah! i just realize how wrong it sounds wei!!!! haha....

HMN

Halloween Massacre Night or more fondly known as HMN to us committee members was a success! the turnout was great, everything was done in time and everyone had fun.

For those of you who don’t know what I am talking about, HMN is an event that was organized by the joint effort MMS and IPRMSA of HELP. We had 50+ people working on this event, and it was a great experience for everyone of us.

There were many things that we have to do for HMN, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The times we went to Luc’s house to make our dummies, the times where Andy, Abygayle and I sat down to discuss about Fugitive Hunt, the time we spend blowing balloons (yes, I can’t believe I miss that!! >.<) and of course, the time where we went to Plaza GM and spent money that doesn’t belong to me!!

okay, I will let the pictures do the talking….

Our handmade dummies that William taught us how to make. Try spotting MAE!!

This was one of the fantastic pictures that Luc and William painted after we left. This is my favourite!!

Andy putting on the heads for our dummies. I sooo love our dummies.

When were were doing the dummies at Luc’s place, we had to transport it to William’s car so that we can put them in KPD E for storing. while we were carrying the dummies on the road, cars were stopping by and staring blatantly at us and the dummies. It was hilarious. We couldn’t stop laughing!

Then, it was PARTY TIME!!

We have 3 live bands performances – Pop the cherry, Your Auntie and The Maggots. We also have Niqi acoustic solo, games, tattoo for sale and of course, fugitive hunt that was in charged by Andy and I.

Fugitive hunt, which is the main game of the night, is similar to treasure hunt. Instead of looking for treasure, they have to look for the murderer of the dummies. we have people scurrying around looking for clues. It was fun to watch!

Andy, whom I give all credit for coming up with the storyline and clues for the game is the murderer and emcee for fugitive hunt. Once the groups manage to identify him as the murderer, they have to take pictures of the 5 clued dummies out of the 9 dummies in HMN.

Teams had problem looking for the last dummy because it was in the guy’s toilet and it got trashed before fugitive hunt started. We believe that someone trashed it after it scared the shit out of someone. hehe…

here are some pictures!!

I wanted to go as a pirate, but Eliza said I looked more like a gypsy, so I decided to combined them both and become… a Gypsy Pirate!! hehe…

Unfortunately, above are the only 2 pictures I have of myself for the event. We were too busy running around so there wasn’t any time for pictures. Hope the photographers of the day did take candid pictures with me in it! >.<

I have to say that I was totally impressed at the speed which we cleared up for the event. In about 30 minutes, we cleared up the parking lot, the upper foyer and the lower foyer. When we were done, HELP looked like it was back to normal! The cleaning up process was fast, quick and efficient.

I just wanna say, kudos! to everyone who took part to help in this event. Congratulations to all the committee members for making this event a successful event. Thanks to the upper committee members that had put in the tremendous effort. To all committee members, give yourself a pat at the back. You all did good that day!

For some reason, Window Life Writer don’t like me today. To write this post, I think the program hang for about 7 times. >.<!!

glad to say that I am at the end of this post. Cheers!
