My First Australia Trip.

The last post title was 'My First Posting' and now this is 'My First Australia Trip' ? What is it with me and my first time?

Anyway, here is a short summary of my trip in Australia. I stayed there for 9 days 8 nights, travelling to 2 different states - Melbourne and Sydney.

Arriving at Melbourne after a 7 hours + flight definately placed me in a very bad mood. That of course is caused by the stupid motion sickness that I usually only get when I fly and the fact that I spent the whole airplane journey stuck in a cramp place watching movies, listening music, playing games and not catching a wink during the flight.

It was about 9+ a.m Australian time when we finally landed and it was about 10+ a.m when we finally went through all the hassle at the immigration, customs and getting sniffed by cute dogs for drugs. After paying about 60 AUD for the taxi fare from the airport to our 4 1/2 star service apartment, I found out that we can only check into the apartment at 2! this means no bed for poor me and more sleepless roaming to be done in the city until 2.

Finally, thank goodness for good services that we are able to check into the apartment an hour early. Checking out the apartment in a glance, I picked a room and went to bed. Ah! the soft bed. What a different from the noisy, hard airplane chairs that I had to sit throughout the flight. I definately hate traveling through airplanes especially sitting in economic class. If there is anyone out there with too much money, you are of course welcome to sponsor me a seat in the business class or better yet, first class.

The picture of the bed here doesn't look THAT inviting now that I am back home, but it definately looks inviting to the tired, haggard and panda looking me.

Anyway, the first day was spent by sleeping on the bed that is in that picture while the rest of the days are spent on the one thing that all girls seems to enjoy except me - Shopping!

The whole main purpose of this trip to Australia is to attend my brother's convocation so of course, we need to have his picture here. After all, he is the reason we spent so much money on air flight tickets.

That's my brother in his graduation robe, his bouquet of 11 roses and my dad's million dollar smile.

Yes, so after we attended the ceremony for the one important minute where my brother went to the stage to collect his certificate, we went on to continue with our shopping! After shopping in Melbourne, we decided that the luggages are not heavy enough, so we went on shopping in Sydney! Overall, I slept, I walked and I shopped. That was what I done throughout the whole journey.

Food That I Enjoyed In Australia.

Solo - The carbonated lemonade! Some of my family members thinks that it tastes funny, but I love it. Anyone know where I can get this in Malaysia?

Smiths - Yes! Mmm~~ this had to be the tastiest potato chips that I had ever eaten. In 9 days, we ate 6 packets of Smiths. Too bad I couldn't bring it back to Malaysia. Somehow, even if I did manage to bring back, I think it would be crumbs when I open it.

Chocolate Dip and Chocolate Brownies with ice cream - Yes, I will never forget this. God! looking at the picture now makes my mouth water. Of course, this was the only time I could gorge all the Chocolate Dip with Strawberry without my mom nagging me.

Sukao - Sukao! It came from the word 'suck' and 'cocoa'. Hot chocolate that you make yourself. Put all the chocolate you want in your the cup, a candle below will melt it, pour some milk and voila! Your own made hot chocolate. I drank Sukao twice!

Midori Malibu or something like that - That's me, my Midori Malibu (or something like that) and my beer battered fish and chips. This was on the last night in Sydney. Everything I consumed for dinner that night is alcoholic. According to my bro, this drink could not be found here, but I will recommend it anyway.

Fredo's - Who can resist Fredo's? It taste better than Baskin Robin. Cheaper too! 3 scopes for RM 15! big portion! Very worth eating. If you ever try Fredo's, try the Roche flavor!

Shopping!!

My Jane Austen collection! Bought it for RM 120. Contains 5 books that was published around the year of 1800's. Currently reading 'Sense and Sensibility'. One of my 2 babies that I brought back from Australia.

My Second baby, AKA my Guess Handbag. I bought it for RM 600. Chased the handbag from Melbourne to Sydney. When it went out of stock in Melbourne, I had managed to secure the last one in David Jones' Department Store in Sydney at the Market Street. Bought it with my own money too!

The salesperson working in the shops are so... so... friendly and cheerful! They are so willing to help! Hell, if I really plan to go on with my plan of working part-time as I study in Australia, I don't think I will be able to qualify as a salesperson with me being a moody person especially in the morning. If I am the boss, I would most probably fire myself!

Ah yes, I finally taken my first taste of beef. You all know I don't take beef but when I went there, I think I sort of don't really mind eating beef anymore. Blame it on my brother! He had to tempt me with his delicious looking beef hotdog. Unable to resist, I took a small bite. I think it taste like pork! Had my second and third bite of beef too! When we went to the only time where we had our western food dinner, my brother (AGAIN!) ordered steak and I had 2 bites. I was kind of grossed out at first as there were blood and I was expecting to taste blood and everything but lo and behold, it's delicious! hehe... so yeah, I finally took beef. But I think I will still avoid beef if possible - habits are hard to cure. :)

okay, if you remember, I said that I will provide a short summary of my Australia trip, and it's very short indeed! it only took me about an hour to compose this post!

p/s: This blog only contain about 1/4 of the stuff I want to say! If you call me or I call you, I am going to tell you
ALL and I mean ALL about it. So, beware!

Next up: My Melacca trip and my babies.

my first posting

let's see, this is my very first blog posting at devilishclaire. I have tried inserting the chatbox in this blog and according to Michelle, it's VERY easy to do so. BUT no matter what I do, it never appears for me. Somehow, HTML language is way worse than French to me and the only time I have contact with French is when it appears in the historical romances story books that I read. That definately define my French knowledge as 0.

Yes, so Michelle, if you are reading this post, I need your help in customizing this blog.
