Shop til you drop...literally

I went to Vegas on Saturday will all the girls I work with. Every summer we usually play Survivor at the Dr's cabin...we eat bugs, bob for abbles in beans, obstacle courses, and anything hard or disgusting you can think of. This year we voted to skip survivor and use the money towards a shopping trip in Vegas. Dr. let us do it...as long as we do survivor again next year. We left at 9:05 (sharp)in a 15 passenger van and went straight to the outlets. Can't complain with the good deals at the outlet stores. After about 4 hours there, we moved on to the Fashion Show Mall. We had planned on going to dinner after the mall and then doing some more shopping...but we were all about dead. We decided to go to the Cheesecake Factory, which is definitely in my top 3 favorite restaurants. You can never go wrong with the Avocado Egg Rolls, Miso Salmon, and a good slice of cheescake to finish it off. We were all so full we got cheesecake to go and brought it home. We got home just after 1am. It was definitely a day full of shopping...what more can a girl ask for? It's so much more fun to work when you love everyone you work with.
On a sad note...school officially starts tomorrow. :( We had orientation today to get our new instruments and go over schedules and everything. It brought back the anxiety school causes. Only one more year...I can do this!

Funny

You Are a Cherry Flavored Popsicle

You are sweet and friendly. For you, summer is all about doing your favorite things.

You are a nostalgic person. You love old fashioned things like ice cream trucks.

You savor everything. Every taste of summer, the feeling of the sun, the smell of the beach...

Of all the types, you love summer the most.

Aubree's Wedding and Grandma's Birthday

I know I'm so behind on posting, so I'm catching up with 3 posts today. My best friend got married this last weekend On August 1 in the Salt Lake Temple. It was so much fun to go up and be able to share in her and Blake's day. Thursday night they had a dinner at Squatters pub in Salt Lake. It was such a fun place. Friday morning they were married and everything was so beautiful. She is now Aubree Vogt(vote). Their reception was at Thanksgiving Point, and it was gorgeous. There were flowers everywhere and big waterfalls. It was so much fun! We drove back to St. George that night, because it was my Grandma's 75th birthday party on Saturday. We had breakfast at my mom's house, went to my aunt Jennifer's for lunch and swimming, and up to my aunt Carolanne's for a luau dinner. The whole family was here from California and Las Vegas and it was a lot of fun to be able to see everyone. The picture with all of the kids are all of my grandma's great grandkids. She has way more greats now than regular grandkids! I have the cutest Grandma. You would never know she is 75. Some of us grandkids gave her a gift certificate to tint her car windows so she can look even hotter. ha she really is so cute I love her. Yesterday was my sister Gretchen's birthday, so it was just a weekend of birthdays. We went to lunch with the girls and dinner with everyone at Texas Roadhouse. She is the best sister! Happy Birthday Gretch! Love you!

Pioneer Day

We had a fun weekend for the 24th up in Orem with Devan's family. Thursday we had a BBQ and played croquet. It was a lot of fun, and Devan and I had to win. :) Friday night we went up the American Fork canyon, which is beautiful, and roasted hot dogs and smores. YUM! Then Saturday we just hung out and got to go through the Timpanogos Temple with my best friend Aubree. Thanks to Jarom and Kristine for letting us stay at their house!

Chelsi's Run

On July 15 it was Chelsi Petersen's 21st birthday. In memory of her, my mom and her friends put together a 5k fun run/walk. They wanted to do this for Chelsi's family, so it would be something to look forward to on her birthday, instead of moping aroundd. When these women get together, they can do anything! They thought it would just be a fun family and friends event...maybe 100-150 people. Before the run that day, they had 550 people registered, so they ordered 650 shirts just in case people registered at the event. Little did they know...they ran out of shirts an hour before the race began and ended up with around 1000 people there. It was absolutely amazing to see so many people in support of such a good cause. The run started at 10:00 and it was SO humid. I have never seen so many people soaking wet in their own sweat at the end. There wasn't a dry body on that block. They were able to raise close to $15,000, which will go towards track scholarships in Chelsi's name. It was awesome! Click here to see Chelsi's blog and see more pictures.
