Catty Cruise Sets Sail

Welcome Sailers! If you have just come from LeeAnn Greff did you totally get you mind thinking about Christmas.. I know I am excited to get thinking about making Christmas tags... Were you just blown away with her amazing projects or what!! That's a hard act to follow. So here it goes.

I am so excited to share a few FALL projects for you... This time of year is one of my favorites of all time.. I love the changing of the leaves and the crisp smell of change in the air.. I have to say that I am loving football season this year soooo much.. ( I can't believe that I just typed that LOL.) I have no clue when it come to the rules ect.. I am just so proud of my 11th grader and his high school football team.. I guess you could say I am learning to love the sport and I am now a FOOTBALL MOM...(he,he)

"Pumpkin Patch" Diorama Card
My first project is so much fun.. I made a Diorama card a few years ago and have loved looking at it but with Halloween just around the corner I wanted a new fall one to show off. (you can find a great tutorial for cutie pa-tutie Diana Gibbs here.) So I couldn't resist when I saw the next stamp set "PUMPKIN PATCH" in the new "Holiday Mini Catalog" from Stampin' Up.. You can get a look right here..

Picture Window "Pumpkin Patch"
I love layers... I had such a fun time making this halloween card.. I {HEART} my Stampin' Up Punches... The curly label punch was sooo perfect for little window.. I love the curves it give to the windows it makes it just a little more whimsical that a square... Another favorite item that is a must have from S.U. is their YUMMY ribbon... I LOVE!!! the new Dusty Durango in-color.. This new color works so perfectly with the color "Pumpkin Pie, and pink, and Old Olive, and Kraft, and Taken with Teal.. You get the picture...
Don't for get to leave a little surprise in side your cards...

"Autumn Splendor"
OK now here are some of the yummy fall colors that I was talking about... How cool do they look with Taken with Teal... The new stamp set "Autumn Splendor" make the coolest background paper.. The veining in the leaves are just gorgeous...

Give Thanks with "Autumn Splendor"
I really wanted to make a card using the "Emerging Color Technique" This is one of my favorite technique.. It's always a surprise you never know what you the finished card will look like. The Sentiment on this card is from the stamp set "Holiday Best" but if you want to add it to your collection you can host a workshop and learn how to do the Emerging Color Technique and earn this set with your hostess benefits... than means FREE...Yahoo!

Just like FALL it's time to move on to the next Catty Cruise Port.. You won't be disappointed.. I
can hardly contain my self I love this girlies work... I will be joining you on the cruise so I can devour all the project Becky Roberts is sharing with you... Bon Voyage all!!
I thought I would make a little backpack and a new hawaiian shirt to take on our CATTY CRUISE..

If you haven't noticed there is a purse craze in the paper crafting world... When I saw this tutorial on splitcoast I thought this would be a great project for the catty cruz.. Actually my daughter Abbie asked if I could make her a life size one just like this one for her to take to school in a month... (Ya right)..

I wanted the Close to Cocoa paper to look like real leather, so I grabbed the plastic wrap from the kitchen and wadded up a piece in my hand I daubed it in close to cocoa ink then on the paper. I was thrilled with the new technique.. I Love it when you have those little moments when a great idea comes to mind and it really works...

On this tutorial She has you print out the pattern on a sheet of paper then trace it on the card stock you want you finished project on.. I actually printed it right on the card stock and made sure that the print was on the inside on the backpack..

Recipe:
Card Stock~ Bermuda Bay, Close to Cocoa
Ribbon~ Chocolate Chip
Hardware~ Filigree brads, Silver Eyelets
Adhesive~ Sticky Tape

My DH and I really want to go on a cruise to Hawaii.. So I though this little Hawaiian shirt would be proper attire for a cruise.. Before I folded the shirt I stamped both sides of the paper. I used the new SU in-color "Crushed Curry" in both paper and ink. I stamped 1st and second generation with the Crushed Curry then stamped the image with Whisper White Craft ink.. To create the buttons I used Kraft paper and punched out holes with my hand eyelet tool. They were just the right size. I then glues them on to the shirt with liquid tombow glue and finished them of with a few dots for button holes.

Recipe:
Card stock~ Crushed Curry, Kraft
Ink~ Crushed Curry, Whiser White Craft
Adhesive ~ Tombow multi Purpose Adhesive, Sticky Strip.
Pencil

Time to pick out your postcards
Here are a few ideas below.

I couldn't resist using Kraft paper.. I {HEART} Kraft paper, Ribbon and Ink. If you look closely you can see that I ran the card base though the "Big Shoots" machine. I found a really great tip online that said pre-spray your paper with just a light mist of water before you run it through the "Big Shot" and Wowzers did it work...

This is what I call a life saver card. You can whip up one of these in just a few minutes. And it looks like you took loads of time.

Recipe:
Card Stock~ Kraft, Whisper White
Ink~ Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, Bermuda Bay.
Ribbon~ Bermuda Bay Striped Grosgrain.
Punches~ Modern Label. 1-3/4", 1-1/4", 1"
Adhesive~ Snail, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Now this little card looks like it was from a fine shop on board the ship..
I have such a thing for pink these days so I couldn't resist making a pink card. My youngest son Zach seeks out all things pink and LOVES to say mom look it's your favorite color... Maybe that's why I love the color so much because it makes him so happy.

On this card I used the masking technique you can find here. I mixed in just a little freehand stamping to make my own Designer Paper.. If you notice I snuck in just a little Kraft color.. LOL
Recipe:
Card Stock~ Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink.
Ink~ Melon Mambo
Punches~ Scallop Circle, 1-3/8 circle
Paper Piercing tool, mat pack
Ribbon~ Rose Red Grosgrain, Kraft linen Thread.
Adhesive~ snail, Stampin' Dimensionals.

And last but not least.. a little post card that I forgot to mail.. It looks like it was at the bottom of the purse I made.

Don't most postcards look a little loved when you get them in the mail?

I wanted to show you how to make an easy but sweet card using your scraps... I am all about scraps.. I have a hard time parting with all my lovely Stampin' Up paper... The trickiest thing on this cards is punching and gluing on all the little circles on the pink heart.. So not really a big deal at all. Right! I bent the white banner around a Stampin' Write marker to give it a little dimension. I just couldn't throw this card/postcard out with sharing it... I had a couple of sticky fingers wanting to get a hold of it...

Recipe:
Card Stock~ Soft Suede, Melon Mambo, Elegant Eggplant, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White.
Punches~ Full Heart, Heart to Heart.
Designer brad~ Flower Assortment
Additional Stamp set~ Great Friend

I am so glad you stopped by this port of call on your Catty Cruise today.. I Hope you had a great time shopping for ideas to send home.... The next stop is quite a feast you are sure to be amazed by the elegant offering that you will see on the lovely
Get your best dress on and join us at the captains table for this one.

Hugs
Brooke
