In Honor of Angela

So life has been a tad crazy.  Moving from Japan, sending Jim off to Iraq, and just the usual holiday hustle and bustle almost made me forgot that I had committed myself to writing a weekly blog.  Since Halloween Jim, the kids, and I have been to Okinawa, moved back to the states, celebrated Christmas, went indoor sky diving, the Zoo, swimming pool and caught up on time with the family.

We had a wonderful time visiting Josh and Ariana Farber down in Okinawa.  We were blessed to spend a little over a week just vacationing.  The highlight of our trip was playing on the most exciting playgrounds we have ever come across.  We also enjoyed the beach, the Ocean expo center that had a huge aquarium!

The Kids and I are very sad to leave Japan.  We have such wonderful friends there.  Sydney and Ethan really loved their Japanese pre-school and their Sensei.  They can both speak a little Japanese.  Their favorite word is Bacca (stupid).  Which isn't really a good thing.  But at least they'll forget it soon since they won't be going to school there anymore.

Jim and I got a chance to go indoor skydiving for our Christmas present!  It was really fun.  We only got to do it for 2 min. each.  But it was sure fun.  I think it would definitely be something I'd like to do know that I've had a little taste of the thrill.

Any way...even though Jim is away from us right now, we are having a great time with grandperents and family.  The kids and will be in Utah until at least July.  So please call me if you are in the area.  801-582-1089.  Happy Holidays to all!

Trick-or-treat in Japan

So Halloween is seen as completely unbelievable to the Japanese children. The fact that once a year you can dress up in a silly costume, go door to door, say a silly phrase, and then get a piece of candy is awesome! Sydney and Ethan shared that same awe this year. They are finally old enough to get into the whole idea of candy, candy and more candy. Syd dressed up like a little ballerina, and Ethan was a lion. He even would give a good lion "roar" if you asked him to. It was supper cute. We also decided to make a pumpkin with the kids this year. All growing up we'd carve our pumpkins a couple weeks before Halloween. so I decided about a week before would be fine. After two days our pumpkin looked like this. I forgot it's just much more humid in japan.

My life!

So, here I am making a journal for the world to see. It seems to me that my life can be summed up in a simple phrase at this point. I take care of these people (in the picture).

I love them and most days I think they love me too. We are Living in Japan at the moment just trying make it through the day without going crazy. Jim works long hours and I take care of the kids. Typical. For fun we enjoy movies, outdoors, and travel. This picture is from the northern most point of the main island of Japan.
