Early last friday morning or late last thursday night...which ever way you'd like to look at it, my sweet little nephew, Austin, was born. Yes little, he is now a whopping 2 lbs 12 oz. It is crazy how much you can love someone you have never met. In the NICU there are only 4 people allowed and grandparents are the lucky 4. He is doing so well and is surprising everyone with his strength. There is so much more to be said about this little boy but I want his new Mama to be able to. All I can say is I can't wait to hold him and love him. I hope you can come home soon!
No post would be complete with out Brielle so here is what is going on with her... also this last thursday Brielle came down with a fever over 101. We happened to have her well baby check up so we took her in and the doc said there were lots of bugs going around so just take her home and watch her so we did just that. It was a long weekend with the stress of Austin but Brielle was IRRITABLE to say the least. The fever continued and continued over 101 till monday. So monday the fever goes and then she got a weird rash that started on her belly and then spread all over her. Now the mystery is solved, Roseola...what is that? Yes that is exactly what I said. Apparently it is one of the childhood illnesses, pretty common like the chicken pox, although I have never heard of it. There is nothing you can do about it besides Tylenol and letting it run its course. The bad thing is the incubation period is anywhere from 5-15 days so we could have passed this bug on to many little ones...sorry. She is feeling better now, still trying to shake off some of that irritability. We hope she back to 100% very soon. Baby Signing Time seems to be the cure all.
Now to the slightly embarrassing but lets just get it out there...Monday night we may have had the best bachelor finale party ever with some of our favorite people, the Hyldahls. We had a before the final rose dinner, then watched the juicy episode during the commercial fast forwards we answered trivia about the 2 women.
Apparently I have way to much time on my hands because I baked 2 cakes. But lets be honestly even baking one cake solely for a TV show means you need a life.
After we finished up we ate the Emily cake out of celebration. And in true bachelor style we had a cocktail party. We hid a lego man Brad in one of the cakes and ironically Brad did end up in the Emily cake...I guess it really was fate.
That is what has been going on the past few days. As for this week, mostly, I hope that sweet boy keeps improving and that his Mom and Dad are doing good. On a much less important note, I hope I stop watching so much TV.
