A student perspective of "motherland"

One of my student entry... wish more of him in this world...

After today's lesson, motherland means earth for me.

I do agree that human is the cleverest species on the earth. We create the modern cities, rule the land and now trying to conquer the space. These are our glory and symbol of victories. Based on these, I am proud of being one of the human.

However, we also need to review our victories. How much land, ocean and air are been polluted? How many kind of plants and animals still around us? What kind of environment we are going to pass to our future generations? I think these questions are vital for us to think.

I thought motherland means the country which I original come from before today's lesson. After the lesson, I realised my understanding was too narrow. Motherland means our common environment, it includes different type of species and plants, mountain, river and each single elements from the nature.

Moreover, I think everyone in this world has the responsibility to protect the environment. This is not only a piece of work of government and United Nation. Education and policy are important methods to implement and achieve the goal.

In conclusion, this module is really useful and knowledgeable. I will share my understandings with my friends so that there are more people participate to protect our motherland. Thanks faci guided us today. I must say this lesson widened my horizon!

The Almighty

"Oh Allah, please forgive me for all the sin that I have done. Please forgive the sin of my parents, my wife and her parents. Please give them good health and cure any illness that they are having. Oh Allah, lift from them any burden that is too heavy for them to carry. Keep them save from any ill desires of the devil. Grant them happiness and wealth. If You were to take them, let them be among those that You Loved.

Oh Allah, grant us offspring who are soleh and solehah. Grant us offspring who will be the best of man and carry the name of Islam on his or her shoulder. Grant us offspring who will continue the great work of our Rasulullah and carry the responsibility of dakwah. Grant us offspring who will gain your pleasure Oh Allah.

Oh Allah, grant me strength and wisdom for me to lead my family. To lead my family towards your pleasure Oh Allah. Grant me the knowledge and skills to educate my family towards your pleasure Oh Allah. Grant me the energy for me to carry on to work for You Oh Allah. Oh Allah, please reduce the challenges you have given me in this new phase of life. I know I have not been a great servant to you Oh Allah and I have not been carry out my responsibility to you as a Khalifah Oh Allah. Please grant me a chance to serve you again Oh Allah. Let not my eyes be blinded by the worldly nikmah Oh Allah. Let not my energy be wasted on worldly desires Oh Allah. Grant me the vigor to continue my Dakwah Oh Allah. I have missed so much serving You Oh Allah. You are The Only Place for me to seek help Oh Allah. Therefore please grant my prayer Oh Almighty Allah.

Just a matter of 10 minutes...

Ok ok... here is another update for you...

Thought of leaving home at 6.45am today. I know that the bus usually comes around 6.55am but I guess today I delay a bit in leaving my house so I end up missing my bus. Saw the bus drive pass me while I was at the traffic light. What to do... redha...

So I took the next bus which came at 7.05am. There was a stupid bus no 9 which refuse to move out of the bus bay and cause a major hogging that delayed the other bus behind it. So that cause me to reach the interchange at 7.16am. Managed to catch the 969 bus at 7.20am. Reach Khatib at 7.47am. Rush to the MRT and found that the next train is just 2 mins away. Rush up the platform and managed to catch that train. Reach Woodlands somewhere at 8.05am. Rush down and saw the bus waiting for me with NO QUEUE!! So went into the bus and left for school. Reach school at 8.10am and office at 8.15am.

So conclusion? Just a matter of 10 minutes could mean 45mins for me to reach school. That is the reason why I cannot delay leaving home.[mental note]

Updates? Here you go...

You want updates right? Ok here you go. I need a break from grading anyway. Been sitting on this chair for almost 3 hrs just doing grading. Yet I have just completed team 3.

Reached school late today. Left home around 6.55am. Took the bus no. 39 at 7.15am. Slept in the bus and missed the stop at Khatib MRT so stopped at the Yishun Interchange. Took MRT at Yishun MRT at 8.15am. Reach Woodlands around 8.35am. Go down to the interchange and found a super long queue for the bus to school so decided to walk to school. Reached school around 8.50am. Walk to my office, 8.55am. So there you go. From my home front(back) door to my office front door, took me 2hrs.

So how about that for an update! Happy? Ok back to my grading... here is a picture for your consumption...

Perjalanan Hidup - A Trainers' Camp Sharing

This song has always been in my mind for a long time. I wanted to share it here on my blog but never had the time to do so. Since TC2008 has initiate it, I guess it time for me to follow up on it as well.

Perjalanan Hidup
Aku yang masih di perjalanan hidup ini
Begitu lama berlegar di persimpangan dunia
Menempuh jarak dan titian
Rimba dan lautan
Mencari sesuatu yang abadi

Aku yang masih di perhentian hidup ini
Begitu jauh menggembara ke serata hidup ini
Mengejar siang dan malam
Surut dan pasang
Mencari sesuatu kebebasan
Mencari sesuatu kedamaian

Di mana berakhirnya
Perjalananku ini
Esok dan lusa bukan miliku
Oh Tuhanku
Lindungilah hambamu yang hina ini
Aku setia hanya padamu
Oh Tuhanku

Ever since I heard this song, trainers' camp is all I can associate with this song. In fact I think it says a lot about what Trainers' camp is all about.

Life is a journey. As a Muslim, we know and firmly believe that this life on Earth is only temporary. There is a more confirmed and final life after death. Most of us are still finding our way in this world.

We never know when the journey will end but we are very sure it will end on day. Are we ready to face that day? Are we confident that when the day comes, we will be able to answer for our deeds. What have we done in this world to say confidently that we have done our jobs as Muslim?

"Mencari sesuatu kebebasan". Personally, I am looking for freedom but not freedom literally but a freedom of mind, a freedom from bad desires, a freedom from worldly problems. Only Allah can give me this freedom.

As most of you would already know, I will be facing the next phase of my life at the end of this month. The feeling is mixed, very mixed. But one thing I really hope and pray is that, dakwah work will continue to flourish during this next phase. I really fear that I will be overly concerned with life challenges during this phase, that I have no time or no opportunity to contribute and fulfil my duty as a Muslim.

To my other half, I really hope you would support me in this journey and together we can discover life that Allah have bestow upon us through this wonderful journey. Patience will be tested and sacrifices have to be made. May Allah gives us strength to face life challenges and may He protect our families from Hellfire.
