The Summer In A Nutshell . . . because we're nuts

Well, we haven't exactly been too aggressive in taking pictures this summer. That's what happens for first-year home owners. It's like we're little babies learning how to walk. So we decided on the "Top 10" for our summer adventures (starting at Ten and working down).

10) Our little picasso is beginning to chalk up some masterpieces. This one is a whale. She did it all by herself and was proud of the accomplishment. Unfortunately, she has been unable to duplicate it.

9) One crisp morning, Kendyll decided she wanted to hunt bears and wolves in our backyard. So Delphi made a bow and arrow for her and she camoflauged herself in her hunting gear, equipped with safety helmet, so she could sneak up on the varmits. Our yard is a safer place because of Kendyll's totally awesome bow skills.

8) aaaaahhhhhhh fishing. Kendyll is one fish for one cast. 100%. She was fish queen for the day.

7) We actually got Kendyll to smile during one of her "clean" moments. Contrary to some belief, we bath Kendyll at least twice . . .

6) Nothing better than a 3-year old living up to 2009 standards. Nice shades, Bug-eyes.

5) Our vacation to the WA coast. This was the Astoria bridge. Delphi was sick because it was such a grandeur site. I thought it was awesome. Nothing better than willfully going over a 2 mile long bridge to get to the other side. It looks small, but it actually goes up into the clouds . . . not really; but it sure feels like it.

4) The Beach!! Of the 5 days we were on the beach, this was the cloudiest. Both Delphi and I broke through our shell and did skimboarding and bodysurfing. Salt water is disgusting (we tasted it for days). It sure cleans out your sinuses, though.

3) Even though Kendyll is a pool shark, she was a little apprehensive with the vastness of the ocean. This is about as close as she got the first three days. She finally became daring enough to touch the water the last day we were there. But the sand was awesome!

2) Cape Dissapointment Lighthouse. This is the lighthouse that sits on the furthest edge of the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean. Too bad you can't go inside.

1) The family hike through the Washington jungle. This was one stop we all made. We love family pictures when Kendyll doesn't cooperate. Good thing we only have one kid. . .

Kendyll's Story Time

Kendyll is in a very fun stage of life. She has three make believe friends/sisters/brother. Their names are Katie, Kaylee, and the Boy's name changes from Rufus to Donnol to Connolu; pretty much whatever she comes up with. Her story times are very dramatic and full of expression. Hopefully we don't have a future drama kid on our hands.
