summer days . . . driftin' away

Our cousin asked what we did this summer . . . and it made us both think, what did we do this summer? Well, this is what we did:
We played in the mud at Gramma's

We let Drew have an afternoon snack . . .

Which ended up having a worse effect than we thought.

We blew lots of bubbles

And we taught Drew how to break dance . . .

Yeah, it's hard for us to believe it too.

We kissed Dinosaurs . . .

(How did she do that?)

We lounged about sipping on sweet morsels of wholesome goodness

And even found time to stop and take a bite.

We shot guns,

Went on hikes,

We rode horses and horses and horses,

And even found time for some fishing with grandpa!

All-in-all,it was a pretty low key, but beneficial summer (and we can't wait to do it again next summer).

Recap 2010

So we have now successfully posted for the first time in about a year.  Maybe we will get caught up and stay on top of posting , but more than likely not.  Hopefully more to come in the near future.

Preschool

Kendyll is now a preschooler! The whole morning she kept saying, I just don't think I want to go. That was a bunch of lies. The minute I walked her to the door, she was gone. Had to give her teacher a dandelion and show off her new back pack. She loves every minute of it. I can't believe how big she is getting. When did this happen?

She wanted to have curly hair for school, so I braided her hair the night before. She likes it that way and introduces herself by saying, "Welcome to my curly hair!"

And what specail day would be complete without sharing a picture with her brother?

When I get married . . .

Kendyll has proclaimed that this is what she is going to wear when she gets married. This comes complete with green hair clips and her blanket she's had since she was born. We especially love her make-up routine.

Here's a closer look in case you didn't see how beautiful she is in the first picture!

After she dressed up, she wanted to see me in my wedding dress too. The excitement of playing with a 4 year old. . . you never know what they'll think of next.

Lake Coeur D'Alene

Our good friends Adam and Natalie came to visit us over Labor Day weekend from Las Vegas. I guess the summer heat was too much for them. We decidied to go to Lake Couer D'Alene and it was very breezy, but fun.

Jeff, Aubry, and Claire came with us. Claire was a little cautious about touching the water for a little while. Good thing there was a sandy beach.

Natalie and Adam soaking in the North Idaho sunshine . . .all 71 degrees of it! I guess the Vegas sunshine isn't as wonderful.

Even Kendyll had a blast. Then again, Kendyll always has a blast whenever water is involved.

Minus nap time, and the wind, and the beach, and the cold water, Drew Boy was digging it.

All of us tried to "pose" for the camera, we were first.

Next it was the guys. That went o.k.

And then the girls attempted to do the same. For some reason it didn't turn out as well.

If at first you don't succeed . . . try, try again. Attempt number #2 for the girls. This time they decided on something much more simple. . . or maybe not.

Good. Getting closer . . .

Almost have it. . .

Ta da. It's a good thing none of us were cheerleaders.

Overall it was a splendid weekend. We're lucky to have so much natural beauty around us and such good friends to share it with.
