It's a yearly tradition for our family to go "hedge apple bowling" in the fall. We started this activity in Oklahoma at a nearby lake, and continue it now on our beloved wood chip trail in our neighborhood here in Kansas. We also "pine cone bowl" when we camp in the Rocky Mountains. It's the little things that make the best traditions.
Today, it was 70 degrees when I picked the boys up from school, and while we were on the trail a short while later, the temperature plummeted. Within the hour, it was in the low 40s with a biting cold north wind.
