We had the boys pictures taken. Why is it so impossible to get a picture of two adorable boys together?!?!?

Brown Eyed Boys
Lincoln has not had a seizure that we have seen since May! This is the longest stretch of time since the seizures started over a year ago. He had an EEG & MRI in September. The MRI was clear; the EEG showed that he is still having seizures, but that they have decreased signifcantly. That is a normal thing that once someone is one medicine that the seizures are still occuring in the brain, but the meds block the effects of the seizure which is why we don't see them happening. As of yesterday he is down to 2 medications. He has been on these 2 since January. In March we had added a 3rd medicine, but for the past few weeks we have been weaning him off of that medication. We have already noticed positive effects of eliminating that medicine. He is much more alert & happy. We started the process of weaning medicine when we began noticing some speech and developmental issues. With the decrease of medicine we have seen those side effects decrease. We have an appt with his doctor on the 10th so we will see what our next step will be at that time. He is also scheduled for a neuro psych consult in December to aid in determining if the issues that we are seeing are related to his meds or if there is something else going on. But for now we thank God every day that he is not having seizures.

Catching Up
Sorry it has been so long since we have updated our blog. This is what we've been up to since the end of July.

Big Brother sits on Little Brother's lap

Sooooooooooo Big!

Grandma put me in here so I wouldn't get into mischief!

My sis' whole fam was here the end of July. This is the whole gang.

Lincoln wanted to take the 4 wheeler home.

Austin & Lincoln

Happy 3rd Birthday Lincoln!

This is what the cutest 3 year old looks like (=

I wasn't eating anything.....

"Here you go Dominic, have this pumpkin"

Yes, I still have more than one chin

I wish my arms were longer so I could actually reach some toys

Fashion police be on alert! LJ wanted to go outside today and splash in the puddles, unfortunately this is what he wanted to wear (pj shirt, boxer briefs and rainboots)!

I did take his outside & he had a blast, but we made sure he had pants on.

Happy 3rd Birthday Lincoln!
Happy 3rd Birthday on the 9th to our sweet boy Lincoln! He has changed our lives forever for the better-he made us Daddy & Mommy for the first time. Josh took all of the pictures off of the computer to back them up so I don't have any pictures to attach to my post, but trust me he was a cute little baby and an even cuter 3 year old (=

Six Month Pictures
If you click on the link below you can see our 22 lb baby's six month pictures!

We had Lincoln in for a check up with his neurologist two weeks ago and he weighs 29 lbs; we had Dominic in today for his 6 month check up and he weighs 22 lbs! I need to start lifting weights!
Lincoln is doing awesome! Thank you Jesus for answered prayers. It has been 10 weeks without a seizure; that is the longest stretch of time without a seizure since October when they started. He is running, climbing, jumping (including into Grandpa & Grandma's pool) and in general just being a normal almost three year old. He refers to Grandpa & Grandma's pool as "my pool" and has no fear of water so loves to jump in, swims with water wings on and balances on floaties like a surfboard. It is so great to have our little boy back.
Dominic got two more teeth two weeks ago; he now has a total of four. Apparently he thinks teeth are supposed to come in two at a time. Just this last weekend he started full out crawling so out came the gate. He is still a very happy & smiley baby and I love kissing his chubby cheeks.

70th Anniversary & 90th Birthday!
June 17th was my Grandpa & Grandma's 70th Wedding Anniversary & my Grandma's 90th Birthday! What an awesome thing to be able to celebrate!
My Grandma's parents told her she could not get married as a teenager so she got married on her 20th birthday. They still live in their own house. Grandpa is 97 and in great health. Grandma has started to lose her short term memory, but she still has her sense of humor & most importantly she still loves chocolate (I had to have gotten that from someone!). Dominic & I went down to celebrate with them for the weekend. When I booked our flights LJ wasn't doing very well so I didn't want to be taking that chance of him having seizures on the plane. All of us grandkids were there; just two spouses & three great grandchildren that weren't able to make it. Dominic was a perfect traveler. He laughed for the 1st leg of our flight and slept for the 2nd leg and then coming home he slept for both legs. What a good little man.

Misc Pics
Daddy & his boys
LJ thought it was hilarious to spray me with the hose.
He is going to be a big boy!
Time for a hair cut!
Why should I keep the sand in the sand box?!?!?
Our TV appearance went really well. We weren't so sure the 15 minutes before because Dominic was having a bottle & he does not like having his meals interrupted & Lincoln was acting like a 2 year old. But by the time we were in front of the camera they were both awesome. LJ kept on looking at the camera man and saying "cheese". Lincoln is doing really well right now. We have gone for almost a week without a seizure! YEAH! That is the longest since sometime in January. He is walking almost 100% and is kind of running at times. Thank you for all of your prayers for him & for us-his progress is an answer to our prayers.

We're going to be on TV!
Josh & I are blessed to work for a great organization that prides itself on giving back to the communities we live in. At our Christmas party this year the bank we work for gave each of us employees $1,000.00 for us to donate to someone or somewhere of our choice. Josh & I made the choice to give our $2,000.00 to the Children's Hospital here in Fargo. We have had to spend a fair amount of time there and we know first hand what a difference it makes to have a hospital where we live. We also know what a difference all of the little things make. Having toys; having special procedure machines for little people; having nurses who will do anything to make your time there more bearable. Every year in February three local radio stations join together & do a radiothon to raise money for the children's hospital. It was during that radiothon that we went on the air and pledged our "Pay it Forward" money. About a month ago a lady from Merit Care called us and asked us if we would be willing to share our story on their telethon similar to how we had shared it for the radiothon. Because we feel so strongly about having a quality children's hospital in Fargo we agreed to do it. So the four of us will be on KXJB Channel 4 (if you are in our local viewing area) for the Merit Care 2008 Children's Miracle Network Telethon sometime between 7:00 & 7:10 on Saturday night. If you don't have anything better to do & you want to see Josh & I potentially make fools of ourselves on TV, feel free to tune in!
Update on the kiddos....
Lincoln is doing quite well. He is only having a couple of seizures per day at the most and if he has them they are during his nap or at nighttime. His balance is getting much better. He can play basketball & baseball again. We're still waiting to see him run at full speed, but we know that day will come again. This crazy thing called epilepsy sure hasn't slowed down his learning or hindered his ability to make us laugh uncontrollably. Dominic is usually smiling or laughing at him too.
Dominic is still just fat & happy! He loves to smile, giggle & eat! He popped through his first two teeth at the same time last Sunday (18th). He rolls over all of the time. But most of all he loves to give his mommy kisses!

Pics from Mother's Day
I am definitely outnumbered in this house! I was getting things ready to go to a birthday party & when I came in the living room this is what I saw. Three boys watching a show on Spike about how to build or take apart a motor. As if any of the three of them have any clue when it comes to motors! But they were all totally engaged in the show.
We had our families over to our house for Mother's Day. After everyone left I took the four of us went for a walk & played on the swing set for awhile since there is finally not any snow on the ground!
Dominic gave me a special Mother's Day present-he learned how to roll over on Mother's Day. What a good little boy (=
We are still on a roller coaster with Lincoln, but he gets smarter & smarter every day so that's what really matters. His balance is getting better too which we are very thankful about since he is anxious to be outside now.
Grandma's with the boys
Lincoln was helping Grandpa put some new hinges on his toy box that Great Grandpa made.

New Pictures
My baby is already 10 1/2 weeks old )= At his 2 month check up he was 14 lbs & 24.5 inches - 90th percentile for height & weight. This means that he weighs half of what Lincoln does! It might be "little" brother protecting big brother at our house. My boys may look a lot like their Dad, but they got my brown eyes so I did contribute something to their looks!
These two are when he was 8 weeks.

People ask us if we think the two boys look alike. You can decide for yourself. The picture on the top is of Lincoln at 12 weeks. The picture on the bottom is of Dominic from today - 10 1/2 weeks.
