Things I Love Sunday
Sunday, May 31, 2009
Alright, it's Sunday again! This is a really slow week for me I guess.
IKEA: I was bored at home so I went out for a drive and I ended up in IKEA. The blue and the yellow. It's such a calm place to be. The whole atmosphere there is just great. I always feel like I'm in a suburb instead of a city there. Just walking and looking around makes me feel good. And I bought cookies!
PYSS Carnival: I guess it's not the carnival that I love but the people that I met there. Saw several teachers from my secondary school days. They never changed, maybe some aged but overall they're the same. Being teachers are surely tough. It's a demanding job and yet there's not much opportunities to rise up. They are admirable.
Catching up with Derrick & Joo: We didn't really talked much (maybe 'cus I had to fetch my mom) but I enjoyed the company. Gelare doesn't make the best ice cream but it was fun just talking away and occasionally spying on Derrick's team mate.
Others: Re-watching some parts of Hana Yori Dango 1/2 & trying out Boys Over Flowers and comparing the two; watching parts of MIGO; reading Man & Boy; going to the library to pick out some books; listening to again & again by 2pm; kinder bueno.

Love Tanks @ National Museum
National Museum: The
national museum sounds boring doesn't it. BUT! It's actually great there. I don't think I would have gone to the museum if not for the relatives visit. There are lots of galleries and the exhibits there are fine. The digital guide "companion" provided was great help since it pretty much explains all the exhibits and the history attached to it. Didn't manage to finish viewing even one gallery due to the lack of time so maybe someday I'll visit it again. It's definitely worth the 10 bucks.
Hew Yenn's Valedictorian Speech: Great speech about "water....". Hah. It was a glorious moment for her and I'm proud that I was there to witness it.
Books: I've start to read again. It feels good to read a book or two once in a while. Finished Danielle Steel's
Honor Thyself this morning. It's not fantastic but I finished it anyway. Going on to read Tony Parsons's
Man and Boy. Guess the holidays is reading time for me.
Korean pop: I got to say I don't really like Korean pop but for the past week that's the language that's playing from my iPod. It's a small collection and I like Super Junior's
Sorry, Sorry best. Guess Jpop will dominate next week with releases from Yuna Ito and Arashi.

Oh this....

I got my first parking fine this morning. Nothing to be proud of since I guess I got it rather quick like 3 months into driving. Oh man!~ I should have woke up earlier to shift the car back to my car park. The car park below my flat is usually super full at night and since I got home at 11 last night, I parked the car over at the other car park wanting to shift the car back this morning before the auntie comes but lazy me got up too late and got a $30 fine. Okay, at least I know how the ticket looks like.
Fang Lin and Yenn finally graduated from polytechnic! Off to university yup. Yenn did good last night. The
valedictorian speech was beautiful. I thought she will only represent her own course so when the MC lady said that Yenn will give the speech on behalf of all the graduating students, I was extremely proud of her! Great job!

Things I Love Sunday
Sunday, May 17, 2009
I'll try to do the "Things I Love Sunday" every Sunday to write about interesting stuff that happened for the past week.
Hmm...just came home from botanical gardens...Okay here goes~
Relatives: My Australia relatives came to visit! That's really rare since for the past twenty years that I've lived they hardly came over while we flew over often. It was good. We went to the touristy places like Esplanade, Victoria Concert hall, CBD area, Botanical Gardens & China Town. It's been a while since I've visited some of these so it was still fun albeit tiring.
Ride: My ride Me & my Sister's ride came like finally. Got it one day earlier on Friday so it came timely for my relatives visit. The car's good enough for a new driver like me. It's fuel efficient (I managed 12.8km/L which is rather good) and everything's fine. I hope it will not be scratched anytime soon.
Kat-tun's album: "Break the Records -by you & for you-" is a good album to listen to. It's so much better than their second album. I was hesitant at first but I'm happy that I got it. It's Japanese so I doubt any of you will listen to it but it's quite fine.
Firefly: I guess I mentioned it in my previous post but seeing the firefly was an amazing feeling. It's so surreal that this insect has the ability to emit light. It's beautiful.
Chai Jing: Marilyn and I met up with her for Wolverine. CJ's still fun loving, teaching the kids and thanks to her I know that Heroes 3: Fugitives finished airing without me knowing about it. So it means I got something new to watch.
Others: DBSK's Survivor; Wolverine; going to Pulau Ubin; cycling with the girls.

Nothing Gold Can Stay by
Robert Frost
Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

It's pretty ain't it.

Ubin

The trip to Pulau Ubin was great fun!
I saw the firefly for the first time in my life. It really light up! Then there's this dog that barks at 2am! Freak! It barked non-stop for a good half an hour. Bugs get into our maggie mee soup base and there's this huge lizard & ants and mosquitoes are biting everywhere. People fell off their bikes and I got a muscle ache from riding the bike.
This sums up what's memorable to me.
I shall not camp there again though. It's really far from civilisation. There's no energy source, no nothing. Kampong feel ah~
Oh oh..... for DJ MXS we can:
1. Go picnic @ Marina Barrage
2. Go BBQ @ some park
or something easy for our delicate selves.

LUCKY
Wednesday, May 06, 2009
I heard Taylor Swift's You're not sorry again twice on Monday while on Gracelyn's car going for my Accts exams and back home. That's a hell of coincidence listening to that song. Haha... but I didn't hear it today while going for my Marketing exams so I guess that's the end of the coincidences.
Exams are finally ending (I know you NTU/NUS ended) on Friday! I will be having this cycling trip with the lovely DJ MXS on Sunday and there's this camping trip @ Palau Ubin on Monday. Camping?! HAHA! I wanna a trip out with DJ MXS but I don't think that's viable since I guess every body's scared of H1N1. I must say that I don't mind going if everyone can go though.
Let's go to Malaysia!Today is a lucky day since there's MCQ on the marketing paper. HAHAHAH!!!! MCQ! I was expecting essays and more essays since this was what the lecturer said so I was quite afraid that I can't get 30/50(i'm only aiming credit)for my paper. But with MCQ that accounted for 20marks, I'm saved! Lucky!~
On another note....

The clutter on my desk. There's the ACCOMPLISH notepad that Marilyn bought me which I am trying very hard to use it. Maybe I should add "clear the clutter" to it.
and... I had this really cool temperature check in sch today. I was just walking and then I was given the "clear" sticker. In my mind I was thinking "wait, where's the temperature check? did they stupidly gave me the sticker without checking?". I later found out that while I was walking through to get the sticker, there was this sensor bar that measured my temperature. HAHA. My mindset of a temperature check is still stuck in the "bring your themometer" times.

Gracelyn's 21th
Saturday, May 02, 2009

Gracelyn's birthday party on Thursday was a good break away from studying for the exams. Every time when I am at a loss for words to write in a birthday guess book or anything, I'll just write "You are remarkable". It's such a beautiful phrase that praises you with an elegant touch. Now a days I will sign off as
歐陽秀怡... haha action only... I'll use Chinese traditional so that my name looks chimmer and who signs off in Chinese anyway. Since I have a 4 word name, signing off as xi u yi does not accentuate that. Signing off in Chinese at least people will remember me as "the friend with a double surname".
In a random mood, I bought Grace a bottle of Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial Rosé for her birthday to thank her for all the car rides. Sometimes I just buy gifts when I feel like it but I just love this champagne. It's pretty in pink and suitable for a 21th. Who will buy it for me on my 21th? I would definitely want one.
