I lost my phone! I think it's still inside GV Marina. Oh yeah~ what a bad day. GV's customer service hot-line only work from mon-fri so I guess I got to go down to GV tomorrow to enquire about the phone. The contact numbers!~
This Chinese New Year was a quiet one. I guess I didn't enjoy getting ang baos as much as I did as compared to the past. Haha...guess it's because I'm at the end of my teenage years. Anyway, did you all realise that CNY is the only public holiday that stores/malls don't operate? That it's actually a time where people spend time with their family and relatives as compared to other public holidays where we see many people at the malls and all. It's like X'mas in European countries. Really special.
Moving on, I've read so many books by Robert B. Parker this past 2 months. If I were to list them all down, I read Family Honor, Perish Twice, Shrink Rap, Melancholy Baby, Blue Screen, High Profile, Walking Shadow, Sudden Mischief, Widow's Walk, Back Story, Bad Business, Cold Service, School Days, Hundred-Dollar Baby and Now and Then. Reading novels and all is not something that I usually do since I'm a slower reader but still I managed to read some in 1 day's time. His novels are hits and misses. Some are really good like 'Now and Then' but some are quite bland. Given school, I doubt I will continue reading them. There's not much left to read either since I read almost all that's available in the library.
I saw this cute car (Look! it's a piece of cheese) the other day. Vintage yet cute.
I saw Red Cliff II yesterday. You know how they always say that the continuation is never better than the first one? This movie fell into that category. It was average on it's own (due to to much battle scenes and slow moving sequences) but if you think of Red Cliff as a whole (part 1 + part 2) then it's pretty good.
I was searching for the theme song last night and came across their Japanese Poster. It's less cheena and more sleek.
The Singapore Version is pretty much the same as part 1's. I think they only changed the words.

I FINALLY watched Twilight this afternoon after school with my SIM peeps. Oh, the cinema's still quite pack with students in uniforms even though it's about 1 month after it's release. I see the amount of revenue that the film is making.
It would have been an average movie if there is no Edward. I thought that the plot itself is average but the word-of-mouth about how handsome Edward (or should I say Robert Pattinson) is made the movie desirable. Oh yes, he's one good looking dude. His appearance in the Harry Potter series is not a representation of how good he looks.
Tomorrow's the last day of the AUS lecturers classes. It'll be a 4 day week from next week onwards.
I went to Gabriel's newly opened western food stall "Four Aces" @ Compassvale Bow on Friday. I was shocked when I first heard that he's opening a food stall with his friends since I didn't know that he had a flair or anything like that in cooking PLUS he's young. This also set me thinking about what I'm going to do after my studies. Anyway...
The group went to Chinatown to buy a ZhaoCai Mao before we headed to his coffee shop. I especially liked this photo... everyone looked so happy, the Chinese new year decorations complimented the Chinatown look well and Keith's SLR is great!
The chicken chop which I ate was of good standard. It's so much better than the one below my flat (the one below my flat does not even sell this kind can... they only sell the spring chicken kind) and it does not have that coffee shop feel to the food.
School's beginning again! Semester 2 here I come. I'm taking bus law, mgmt acct & bus, mktg principles and macroeconomics this semester. The courses for this semester sounds blah to me but let's see how it goes. I'll try to be a good sport and make them great fun.
I came across an interesting site yesterday. http://youareremarkable.wordpress.com/. Do visit.
Shan Joo's birthday was a simple one. We went to a restaurant, stuffed ourselves with food and went home (no way!).
We actually took quite a handful of shots, talked loudly while the waiter secretly served food behind us, sang the birthday song in high spirits while SJ got her present in mild spirits and thought why Yi Lian didn't join us (okay, the last part was me).
Okay, using the pictures I took, I made my "SJ's birthday Chronicles"
HAHAHA~ The ending is a tad weird but since I can't find a way to end it, here it is. I spent half an hour doing this okay.
On another note, I bought my Wang Lee Hom Heartbeat album.
See the difference? One has fuggy Chinese writings on it in ugly gold colour while the other is sleek and cool. Support ORIGINAL folks (but only when you feel it's worth it)!
I was tearing the parking coupons yesterday and it suddenly occur to me that yesterday was the last day of 2008.
I shall blog about the past/new year before I leave for SJ's birthday celebration.
Lemme recall... I've worked for the first half of 2008, went to Uni in the second half with many things happening in between. 2008 was not the best year but not one of the worst (at least there is no O/A levels to think of).
I got to experienced new stuff like (to the best that I can remember): >>Getting into a university albeit not a local one >>Being a OL and eating almost the same food everyday >>Taking care of kids and shouting until my throat sore >>Working as a relief teacher and knowing how teaching does not suit me >>Getting my driving license on my second try >>Watching my first ever concert by an artiste >>Going to Hong Kong with DJMXS
I'm not going to do the New Year's Resolution thing so I'll see how things unfold (of course not waiting for things to happen but trying to seize the possible opportunities that come by).
Happy New Year! 2009 here I come (with the billions of people with me).
