HONG KONG X2
Saturday, September 27, 2008
I'm adamant about blogging about my trip to Hong Kong after I realise that I didn't the last time round.
The trip was really tiring. Walked too much and me standing throughout the concert made my feet hurt to the max.
Hong Kong is an amazing city minus the non stop chatting that sounded like bees buzzing, their chor lo-ness. It's just like Singapore granted their usable land space is only 40% of ours even though their total land is 60% more than ours. Second time there this year and I still didn't manage to go to any theme parks (1/2 of Ocean Park's under renovation and there's no time for Disneyland)
Touristy places that I went:
Ngong Ping Cable Car Experience up to the big Buddha
黄大仙
Temple Street ('cause it's just beside the hotel)
And all the places that I went with the 1/2 day tour (Repulse bay etc...)
Shopping places that I went:
Citygate Outlet Mall @ Tung Chung (All the outlets are there!)
Granville Street @ Tsim Sha Tsui (龙城 for cheap skincare products, the whole street is for shopping)
Miramar Shopping Centre @ Tsim Sha Tsui (There's little human traffic there but the mall carries brands that S'pore don't have. Not forgetting TODAI Restaurant even though I didn't go this time.)
Parklane Shopping Boulevard @ Tsim Sha Tsui (International fashion brands)
Hong Kong International Airport (There are so many shops at the airport departure hall, it's better than ours!)
Ayumi Hamasaki's Concert:
Took the MTR then airport express towards AsiaWorld-Expo. The airport express have nice seats but it's so expensive, HK48 from Tsing Yi which is so nearby.
The concert started only at 8.45pm even though it says 8pm but anyway... The visual effects were very good, some are really wow! Some segments of the concert appeared to be the same as her previous concerts though. BUT! Since I'm seating at the ground level, I can hardly see the stage at all with so many tall people in front of me. What a waste of money buying the most expensive seats. As most of the time I'm looking at the screen instead, it felt somewhat like watching the DVD at home during the main show. The encore was better but she was quite obviously flat for Voyage (my only fav song of hers) and some other song. My sis insisted that she can't go that high anymore for her old songs (I think she can't hear herself very well with the hearing problem). It ended with her shouting "thank you very much" without the mic to the whole hall (it was a nice moment).
This trip was too short even though it's from Friday to Monday but technically it's only Saturday and Sunday. Didn't go to a lot of places. The hotel room was smaller than last time even though it's the same hotel (can you imagine!). Sis and Mom says never to go to that hotel again; fine, stay somewhere at Tsim Sha Tsui then.

THURSDAY
Friday, September 19, 2008
Yesterday, I went to SIM Ulu Pandan Campus in the morning for the opening. Was really not keen but since Curina said that it would be fun with the carnival and all so I went with them. OMG! The sun is so scorching! So warm!
Saw the opening by the Minister of Finance, the SIMply U contest hosted by Pornsak and Final Chowdown competition. The final chowdown=eating competition is sick. The contestants literally poured water on their burgers (to eat faster) and stuffed themselves with them. Luckily I didn't join!
Contestants chowdowning.
Went back to Clementi Campus for Business Stats and was dozing off during the lecture. Tired.
Went to Vivo City after school to buy a cake for my Mom's birthday. As what they say, the shop for
Awfully Chocolate is really empty. There is only a counter selling ice-cream and that's it. No cakes on display or whatsoever. There are only 3 flavours(chocolate, chocolate banana, chocolate rum and cherry) and they only come in 6 or 8 inches(limited to chocolate flavour). Had no choice and bought the chocolate one since it comes in an 8 inch size (I wanted rum and cherry).
The cake was okay, I dunno, maybe I don't know how to appreciate. The cake was fine/light and the chocolate fudge was made of good bitter chocolate(not sweet or overly bitter).
I'm leaving for the airport at 4 but I have not pack and need to make a trip to the post office to collect my mail. =\

This week went by in a flash. Time just flew after Tuesday and it was Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
I start to not comprehend what the lecturer is trying to teach in Business Computing. It is difficult stuff. I'll just follow through the database assignment tomorrow.

My cup of Lipton tea
Monday, September 08, 2008
Today was a fairly good day. My OB lecture ended early at 12pm and I got my exam question (something which I will need to read and do research on before my exam).
Went to
Tea Party with the
grp8 and some other guys to chill. It was sort of like
Settler's cafe since you can play all the board games for as many hours as you like as long as you eat there (or not). Anyway, it was great fun playing Taboo and some punishment poker game where we got to do really stupid things.
Met Rachel and JY after so long... (like about 1 month). Rachel just got slimmer with the healthy lifestyle of hers. Sometimes I feel like kowtowing to her for being able to run/walk so much. Went to the steamboat shop that DJMXS frequent for dinner. BUT... the crap stick got crappier, the meatballs taste blah and their pork livers are not fresh. What happened now...
Bought a pair of shoes from Bugis Street. Now, that's like so rare.
It will be studying day on Tuesday! Exams are approaching!
Bon Voyage to Hew Yenn!

KINOKUNIYA... Stock not there

I went to KINO today. Got a novel [Escape from amsterdam] and [Cher]'s catalog. I love Cher's logo. It's so cutesy. Wanted to get this particular book on ways to save the earth etc but the book was not found even though the book search states that it's on that particular shelve. What's up with the book search?

Met CY for dinner at Suki Sushi. That place is a good alternative to Sakae Sushi 'cause there's buffet everyday, all day long on all coloured plates if I'm not mistaken. CY ate 6 plates of salmon! It's the must have favourite. We ate like super fast? and got super full really quick. It's bad for digestion. =/
There's school later so I'm gonna sleep soon. Need to revise on IA later after school or else the topics will just accumulate to the size of a snowball and crush me. On a happier note, I'm meeting up with Rachel and Jia Yan for dinner! =)

I want that ECO bag!
Saturday, September 06, 2008
I just got out bidden for that eco bag that I wanted. Should have stayed at home to ensure that I won that bid. Nvm, since it cost more expensive for that bid.
Will wait one more day to buy from another person. I just found out that it's available in KINO so I shall go down tomorrow to get it. HAHAHA!
Didn't go for my school's bash. Thought that I should have gone to meet new people. Ah, i'm such an introvert and lazy person.
On the other hand, Yenn's leaving on Tuesday (I keep thinking that she's leaving on Thursday). Should we have another gathering or something?

I was closest to getting a new iPod Classic in June when I still have the $$$! It was 1 step away from the 'buy' button when I decided against it as I was worried that no one will be at home to get it. Grr! I am once again determined but this time for a new iPod nano.
Had Bus. stats test today. My! To think I did all the tutorials and I still ended up @#$#&%! There are so many tricky questions! I'll just hope for the best and do good for the other 70%.
Handing in OB assignment 2 on Friday and tada! it's the end of the assignments! There's only the written exam left!
Semester's ending soon. It's so fast! My lessons will start to get lesser and lesser starting the 3rd week with only 2 days of school and it becomes 0 on the 2nd week of October. Exams will proceed and I'm done with sem1!
