The members The Soul Breakers doin' their thing Yi Lian the Songstress "jmxs" coincidentally in black The alumni
I think this is the best ROD I've went so far. The performance was really engaging especially Yi Lian's group performance (YL green skirt is so Hawaii-feng) and the Soul breakers' performance. I was really entertained.
Went 85 for dinner. Joo's dad treat(xie xie), then went Joo's house to play Monopoly. It was super funny... poor thing Marilyn and the alliance JF and Joo. HAHA!
Went to Knox city for last minute shopping in the morning. Things in Mel gets really cheap after Xmas day. Lots and lots of discount and lots of people will go exchange their Xmas gifts that they don't like to something that they want.
Headed to the airport and waited for 1 hour to check in! It's the longest I've waited so far. Even the flight got delayed 'cause people can't check in in time. Anyway, the flight from KL to SIN was really smooth. The landing was perfect, better than the one from MEL to KL.
Had another Xmas BBQ gathering today. BBQ-ed all the way from 3+ till night which was the presents session. It was a really cool presents exchange session where everyone prepare presents for everybody and their presents are not cheapo presents... people get Wii, Xbox, iPod and all.
Drank this good red wine, best I've ever drank. It got this sweet taste and not that bitter taste from the wine I've drank before.
The moon's really big, round and bright tonight (25/12). I think it will be the same in Singapore too.
Bought Converse shoes to replace my old red Fila and bought Havaianas while out shopping today. Bought shoes yesterday too.. now, I have to think of how am I going it bring it home! My sis, me and mom bought 5 pairs... ...
I'm back from the wedding at 1am now. The wedding in Australia is somewhat similar to the one in Singapore but the guests all wear formal wear. Guys have their ties and blazer on and girls, the usual formal stuff. They even have the sheet of menu with your name on it to indicate your seat position, it's really sweet.
There was this small band playing while was quite beautiful but apparently, the sax player didn't polish his sax or should I say, it was rusty and dull until cannot.
Their speed of 'shang cai' is really slow too so that in the meantime the couple will take their time to give their speeches, their bride maid and best man will give theirs, the father of each will give a speech and there is the first dance by the couple and then the dance with the dad. The floor will then be there for guests to dance at the time near last main dish before the desert. There's this China guy at my table who drinks and drinks but is never seen to be drunk. Anyway, there was this another Vietnam-Chinese guy whom was cute and polite. He shook my hand to bid good bye. (笑)
Remember the previous post where I wrote about the cold weather in the mountains, it's really good actually IF there was no rain. It was a sweet little European open air style wedding ceremony with the strings there as accompaniment, the whole setting is awesome but the rain spoilt everything. The temperature dropped to 9c which totally caught all of us by surprise and the only coat I brought was not enough to warm me in my thin dress. Every time the wind blows it will be like hell cold and I will shiver like brrrr. My aunt even joked that now we will never forget them due to this event. (苦笑)
It's really cold..... the wedding at the gardens on top of the mountains was horrible. It was raining heavily and the couple came late and my dress was thin that I thought I will freeze to death.
Going for wedding dinner later in a sheltered environment. SAFE.
I'm here in Melbourne and it feels like... home. Arrived at the airport and relatives fetched us to their house. Had lunch at a Vietnam restaurant and ate some really good noodles! Went to watch My sassy girl in my relatives house and eventhough I watched it before but still.... the movie's weird. Lol.
Watched a lot of TV which totally feels like a usual day watching TV at home.
Melbourne feels a lot better than Darwin. Melbourne feels a lot friendlier... like how a big city should be like.
It's raining for almost a whole day now and weather forecast says that the temperature tomorrow will be between 14c-18c which is bad 'cause the morning wedding ceremony will be held at a garden on top of a mountain(!) which means it will gonna get even cooler.
(*Blogging about a Japanese Drama, need not read if not interested)
Just finished watching the last episode of Dream Again. The drama is quite good, about a man whom out of a sudden died when lighting stroked him but later realise that he's time is not up yet thus took over another one's body through the help of the heaven personal and together with it, all the obstacles that he has to go through in the identity of another person. The storyline is a bit absurd but if you were to focus only on the flow of the story and not think that much, it's a good drama. The male lead is a strong actor but the supporting female actress, Kato Ai (even though I liked her ever since Umizaru) still needs much improvement... her crying scene was omg. The ending was too forced like "Ok, we must have a happy ending", but I must admit if the male lead were to die in the end, I will kill the producers/writers. LOL
I was actually going to write this before 0A so that it is a entry dated 16/12 but I ended up looking at Hamasaki's Together When... song info so I'm only writing this now.
Derrick have been in the army for 2 days now. I think it's still not that tough given that he can still sms me in the morning and evening. LOL.
Watched Best Artist 2007 and Star Awards 2007 just now. Best Artist 2007 was nice but Jun sang out of tune and Jin was horrendous. The other parts of the show was good.
Going to watch the last episode of Dream Again now. The plot's getting really intense!
Derrick called me yesterday and told me that he got his licence. I was shocked when he said something about going for a drink and that he'll drive. I was thinking "eh? what are you talking about" then I remembered that he took the test the day before and yeah he PASSED!!! Congrats Derrick! The first in our clique to get a driving licence. Even though we did not go for a drink in the end 'cause he haven bought the plate yet but still next time yeah! =)
Derrick's going to do his NS tomorrow and I'll be missing him. Aw~~ What will he look like without his hair?! HAHA!! Can't imagine. xD
I was watching coffee prince for the whole day and I'm at the 2nd last episode now. It's a good drama w/o the usual 2 gals, 2 guys fight you see in a Korean drama. It coincidentally was shown when hana-kimi was shown... the concept of a girl acting as a guy. =D
Went out for a bit today... about 4 hours, walked about. Nothing to buy really, winter ah~ Singapore no winter. (if you understand what I'm getting at)
Watched about 1+ hours of SEA games, the badminton match was really intense!
Watched DREAM AGAIN after that, it was really good! Last episode this saturday!!
I must have high tea at Royal Copenhagen one of these days. Been thinking about it for quite a while already. Everything looks so lovely!!
I watched THE GOLDEN COMPASS today. The plot was a simple one, there was no breathtaking acting or plot perhaps due to the fact that they are only getting the show started. It's a trilogy or some sort anyway. It's a okay movie best watched on Mon-Wed IMO.
I watched a bit of the SEA games on TVmobile on the way back home. Watching sports really gives me a sense of loyalty to the country 'cause the athletes are representing Singapore! The playing of the anthem and all when we get a gold is aw~~. Sports is great!
Watched 2+ hours of TV when I got home. It's been a while since I watched TV! I'm always just watching videos on the net, in my hard drive and it was a good feeling to watch TV. (笑)

I spent yesterday only watching BIZAN. It's only 120mins but I spent the entire day finishing it!! Let me state why...
1)0900+ Got to the streaming site and start streaming. Watched a bit and went to read a mag in which I fell asleep reading it. 2)1500+ Start watching it again but pulsing now and then to surf the net. 3)1900+ Went out. 4)2200+ Trying to finish the last bit, streaming didn't complete so I re-streamed. 5)0000+ Finally finished the movie.
The movie was good, a heartwarming family drama about a dying mother... (I made it sound boring but it's good).
Lalala~ it's almost Xmas now! It's not a day that I usually celebrate with my family though. We just ain't Xmas-cy. LOL. This year I'll be celebrating Xmas with my relatives which my mom says "oh, it'll be fun. remember when you were younger...". Yeah, even though my relatives celebrate Xmas with more hype, but I hardly remember them so all kinda go downhill.
Alright, I planned for about five minutes a while ago about how I am going to buy my WANTS. I'll be getting the zen first, get a job so that I can buy Wii, then save more, more and more so that I will have money for the HK trip next march? Anyway, I need to earn the $$ 'cause I'm not intending to ask from my dad (I'm so good). It's lots of money involve which makes me go "oh, how much I will need to slough to earn the $$". HAHA.
I'm back from Darwin, the capital city of the Northern Territory. It's a quiet place with a population of about 120,000 people, 6 square meters per person. It's very HOT (34-38 degrees) and HUMID (up to 100%) now and I just got darker!!
Lots of Aborigine folks there, and the Aborigine influence appears stronger in Darwin than other parts of Australia. It was bombed 64 times during WWII and Cyclone Tracy on the eve of Christmas in 1974 destroyed 70% of the infrastructure. I'm like a mini wiki...haha.. heard these information 3 times on local tours.
---below (--- portion) is just for my own future reference, but you can read la-- DAY0: Boarded plane at 1800+.
DAY1: Arrived 0005. My visa has some problems due to my surname. The system just have difficulty processing it. Waited in Darwin International Airport for such a long time before they got it processed. Totally pissed. Went to NOVOTEL to sleep. Woke up and joined the local tour tub 1/2 day tours which really needed 1 full day (which I didn't have). WWII oil storage tunnels talked about how Darwin was bombed, what the oil storage tunnels were used for and how it was bombed more times than Pearl Harbor but was less famous than it (sis said it was because Pearl harbor was what brought US to war). Went to the Pearling exhibition, it appears Darwin is quite active in the pearling industry and it takes really many many years to form the perfect pearl necklace (imagine the cost attached with it). Due to the lack of time, the last stop was the Museum of Arts and Science, lots of Aborigine art pieces there and also the famous Sweetheart, that ferocious 5.1m saltwater male croc.
DAY2: Went to KAKADU National Park, that place on the World Heritage List. It's really huge and people actually can go on a 3 day tour there. Spent a short while there. FLIES were everywhere due to the weather (remembering Wave Rock). Waving the flies away till hand aches. Took the Yellow River Cruise (jimjim creek and the jimjim falls...lol). Saw 2 crocs, lots of birds and beautiful scenery. There's the AUS1000 bird whereby you kill one and you pay for the price of 2 'cause the 2 birds can't live apart from each other. Stop by some termite mounts on the way which I thought were the remnants of the tree the termite tried to finish off. Learnt something new called 'dew point' when I saw all the clouds at a certain height and asked my sis.
DAY3: Went to Litchfield National Park. Visited lots of waterfalls. First stop was the termite mounts (again). There's the cathedral termite mounts and the magnetic termite mounts (their mounts face the sun rise/set direction to get maximum sunlight). 2/3 of the termites out of 100+ species eats grass and the other 1/3 chew on wood which is bad enough. Went to Florence Falls which was not that pretty, the shady creek walk was 1km and took 25 minutes to walk which was the supposedly better alternative to the 400m up the stairs (I beg to differ). Tolmer Falls was fantastic, the view and the grandeur. Wangi Falls was calm, has lots of bats up the trees and there was this small fury caterpillar. Buley Rockhole has lots of waterholes and it claims to be a 5 star spa. Saw the green ants which is said to taste like lemon and saw two 4 legged creatures (forgot the name).
DAY4: Prepared breakfast with mom since we went to Coles the day before. Had ham, egg, toast, orange juice and cocoa. It's good to get an apartment-styled hotel room. Walked down the esplanade. There's lots of war memorials plagues in the park. Sea breeze was good but weather was hot. How can people do their morning jog out in the hot sun?! Went to see crocs in the afternoon. Stopped by to see HumptyDoo first. Even though it was the wet season (DEC onwards) but since the rain had not arrive yet, the flood plains were not flooded and so it was nothing much. Took a cruise to see the JUMPING crocodiles! The highlight of today's tour. The guide says that jumping is their way of life so it's not something that they are forcing the crocs to do. The sex of the baby crocs depends on the temperature of incubation. A small degree allowance means male and the other temperatures equals female. Went by some informative place regarding the wildlife living at the flood plains before heading back.
DAY 5: Wanted to go to Aquascene for some fish touching, but it was closed on Monday. Since it was the last day, nothing much was planned. Walked to cinema and after figuring out their rating system (they have a more relax one) and deciding on the movie, we bought tickets to Beowulf. Didn't know what it was about when dad bought the tickets. Had lunch. Took a heritage walk about the city before the movie. Had dinner and headed to the airport. No problem with my visa this time 'cause the officer was experienced enough but dad, bro and sis was not that lucky. They waited and waited before theirs clear. Flew home in 4h20m time.

Australia (maybe other European countries) serves their hot chocolate with marshmallows which is really pretty cute to go along with the drink. Singapore doesn't.
Their slang and accent is really smooth and curly. They like to say 'yeah' instead of 'yes' and likes to use the word 'reckon' instead of 'think'.
