Books, color and Sketch...

Though I am picking up on stamping, I just can't stop creating my own elements in my cards. So today, I have two cards to share one with hand drawn and the other stamped only :) With my continuous dedication to CASology challenge blog, my first card is inspired by CASology Week 59 - BOOKS
I hand drew the book, the ink pot and quill, fuzzy cut and lightly inked it with sponge daubers. This was then stuck on card base with foam dots. The sentiment was printed using MS-Word. To represent further to my sentiment, I stamped the alphabets from my Studio - G stamp set to give the look that words are going into the book.  Hope you like it :)
The challenge cue card is -

Now, my second card is a result of increasing love for stamping. I was inspired by the sketch at Inkspirational #35 - Sketch and the colors at Addicted to Stamps and More #60 - Photo inspiration. So here's my card...
To make it, I did masking and inking to create that wavy horizontal line to match the sketch. The all I did was stamping, I used multiple stamps. The flowers were stamped, inked and fuzzy cut in bright red to match the inspiration.

Exploring stamping...

Recently, I have been working on using more and more stamps in my card :) Though I don't have as many stamps in my collection as aggressive stampers might have, but still I have a decent collection as far as me being a new card maker is concerned ;) Also, I won quite a few sets recently. One such set was from Stamping up which I won at House of Card's giveaway.
So, the stamp set is cut out on a rectangular piece of rubber which is stuck over foam. I however, decided to cut out a small rectangular piece of rubber stamp and use it for stamping :D, I surely will use the actual stamps soon :) I was inspired by multiple challenges. Here's my card...
To make this card, I did two generations of stamping with that little rectangle using the challenge colors to create the vertical panel. The flowers were stamped, inked and fuzzy cut from a separate piece of paper. Sentiment was stamped on a vellum and all the elements were stuck on card base using glue stick and foam dots. Finally, pearls were added :).

The challenges and source of inspiration are-

Stamps - Flowers from Scrappy Cat - Sunny Days, Sentiment from Paper sweeties - You make me smile

Others- Vellum & Pearls (from Darice)

Enjoy and celebrate each day...

Hello everyone, I am back with another set of cards, one which showcases my love for hand drawing and inking and the other that showcases my developing love for stamps :) My first card is inspired by the sketch at Seize the Sketch #2 and by the theme at Addicted to CAS #20 - HOLIDAYS, for me holidays are best spent on the country side, away from the hustle bustle of the city :)

To make this, I hand drew the landscape, did making and inking (using Memento Dew drop dye Inks) to create the landscape. The houses and the trees were colored by markers. I created a mark for the sun on a scratch paper and did the inking on card base. The landscape was fuzzy cut and and stuck on my card base with foam dots. Finally sentiment (from Paper sweeties- You make me smile set) was added.

The challenges are -

Now my second card, I am usually unable to create something from the stamps I have, I mean my ideas and stamps don't always coordinate well. But now, I am purposely making an effort to use my stamps and improve my stamping skills :) This card is inspired by Sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch #42, the colors at Color Q #203 and by the concept at Addicted to Stamps & More #59 - CAS card. So, here's my card...
To make this card, I drew a rectangle on a white card stock, I masked this rectangle, then stamped the flowers (from Scrappy Cat - Garden collection) around it. This was then cut out and colored using markers. On the card base, I stamped the leaves and flourish (from Scrappy Cat - Garden collection). Butterfly (Martha Stewart stamps)was stamped and fuzzy cut. All the elements were stuck on card base with foam dots. Sentiment (from Paper sweeties- You make me smile set) was stamped and card was embellished with pearls (from Darice).

Feature of Barb Ghigliotty at Fascinating Fridays' and Cards by me

Fascinating Friday's at Paperie Designs' Studio is back with a bang... This time our featured artist is Barb Ghigliotty, I am sure you all are aware of her excellence in creativity and amazing cards. So, I thought it was time to know her a little more :) Please check out the link here Barb's Beauty to get an insight into her life and to know from where does this creativity come :)

Now on to my cards, lately I won a gift certificate from Paper Sweeties during the 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop at Case Study. Yeah !! lucky me, trust me I am never lucky when it comes to winning prizes. Probably, it meant to be... The Craft Gods wanted me to use more stamping in my cards ;) LOL.
So, I thought what would be a better place to use my stamps than Case Study Challenge #154, where the Muse this time is the famous, ever inspiring Jennifer McGuire :), I was also inspired by the sketch at CAS colors and sketches #39 So here's my card...

To make this I stamped multiple color rows of Gingham border stamp (from Paper Sweeties- Borders), cut out the strips and stuck them on a separate panel. I them stamped the panel with Mini Flourish (from Inkadinkadoo). The flourish was a bit more intricate, I decided to make it more solid and colored the blank spaces in flourish with my fine tip Sharpie Marker and then added sequin butterflies (bought from local crafts store), sentiment was stamped (from Paper sweeties - you make me smile) I then drew dash line frames on card base and stuck the panel. The arrows (from Studio G-iClear stamps) were stamped to add some character :) Yeah I did it :D an all stamped card.
The challenges are -

Now my second card. I am a big fan of CASology challenge blog and just can't resist playing along with them. There cue cards always intrigue me to create a card with a new idea :) This time at CASology Week 58, the cue card is PAPER. So here's my card...
It was easy because I hand drew the paper bin and the crumpled papers. It was fuzzy cut and colored with grey metallic pencil color. The sentiment (a quote I read online) was printed. Finally the bin and papers were stuck using foam dots.

Hope you like my card and thank you for leaving me a comment :)

Flower and colors...

Hey all, it's been long since I last posted. Sometimes, you get stuck with things in your life other than the blog world... and I have some guests over. So the moment I got a chance I sneaked into my craft room to make a card inspired by Colors at CAS-ual Friday's #112 and CAS on Sunday #15 - Floral Fantasy. Here's my card...

To make it I used my usual masking and inking style, I am so much in love with this technique that I just can't stop at one ;) I made a small panel. Hand drew a flower to fit that panel. Made a copy of the same flower that will serve as a mask to ink the panel blue. I then did some inking (using Memento Dew drop Inks) with the challenge colors on panel and flower. Shaded the flower with metallic pencil. Added the anthers using pencil colors and orange Sharpie Marker. Added Glossy accent on the anthers and stuck the panel on card base. I added the sentiment (from My Mind's Eye - the sweetest things) and to finish my card I added pearls (from Darice)

Colorful cards...

If you are looking for my CAS(E) this Sketch ! #41- Guest Designer post, please click here...

Today, I am back with two more cards, my first card is inspired by CASology week 57- PICNIC and ATCAS #19 - SUMMER. I think summer and picnic go hand in hand so combined these two challenges. The picnic reminds me of a bright and clear blue sky and lots of greenery. So, I incorporated this in my card...
To make this I used the sun rays mask that I created on a scratch paper for my previous post. I did some masking and inking to create sky and  some greenscape. I then added a picnic umbrella coz my picnics can never happen without an umbrella ;) ,actually I am allergic to sun rays :(

The challenges are -

Now to my second card, this card is a little different from my usual creations coz I added a some 3D elements to my card. I love experimenting :), its so much fun. So, this one was inspired by Festive Friday #15 which says - make a holiday project with children's theme, I was also inspired by the colors there :), I made it 3D because Make My Monday challenges us to create a card with some dimension. And finally, The Sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #99  is apt for this one :) So here's my card...
To make this I first cut out 9 ovals from my Nestabilities oval die, I colored each with colors on Festive Friday, I then scored them vertically in the center and stuck 3 ovals together to create a colorful ornament. I then cut 3 scalloped circles on my card base and then hung these ornaments by sticking them from behind. Finally, I hand drew the dashed flourish and added sequins. I am sure kids would love such a card :D

Excited to be the CAS(E) This Sketch #41- Guest Designer !!

Here I am with a very very special post as I am the Guest Designer at CAS(E) this Sketch ! Really have no words to express how excited, ecstatic, exuberant... eeeeeeee... I am. So when Chrissy invited me to be a Guest Designer for their next challenge #41, I was on Cloud 9. I was like wow is this real :D Turns out it was as I ended up creating this card for the beautiful sketch from Chrissy Larson herself .

The Sketch at CTS #41

To make this card, I decided to create the sun rays and the big sentiment in the forefront. To make the sun rays I created a mask by drawing and fuzzy cutting the rays on a scratch piece of paper. I then masked and inked the background rays using Memento dew drop dye inks. The sentiment "Thanks" was made with the stencil that I purchased from my local crafts store. It was fuzzy cut and inked in a rainbow pattern. It was stuck with foam dots and butterflies were punched out and added. The butterfly trail was hand drawn :)

I am delighted to be here with rest of the talented Design Team, hope you like my card. Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment :)

A special day...

Today is a special day for me because my sweet and adorable friend Kimberly from Weinerhoneymooners has invited me to be at her Guest Artist Feature. This is something new and different that Kimberly is doing and the goal of which is to know our blog friends better and to grow our relationship one step further :)
I am glad and honored that Kimberly picked me for this. I thank her for the lovely and kind words she has said :) and I am glad that I could be of some inspiration for artists like me :D You can check out the Guest Artist Feature post here...

Now to my new creation... This one is inspired by the rainbow colors from talented Jennifer McGuire's Card at Case Study #152, it is also inspired by The Trendy Triangles Challenge @ Moxie Fab World and the Sketch at Seize the Sketch #1 challenge, they are up with their very first challenge and I had to participate. Though I did invert the sketch to suit my design idea. I will also submit this for 10 Min Craft dash challenge #23 - Birthday Theme. So, here's my card...

To make this card, I did my favorite thing masking and inking (Memento Dew Drop Dye Inks) to create the colored layout, creating triangles of different colors. I then added sequins (from Art minds) To add finishing touches I hand drew the dashed swirls, wrote the sentiment and added butterfly (Paper Punches - Darice) The total time this card took to complete was 9min 43 sec :)

Cards and more cards...

After an interesting and fun filled weekend, I am back with my creative side. My first card is inspired by the colors at Inkspirational Challenge #32 and Sketch from CAS Colors & Sketches #37 and use of Markers at Addicted to stamps and more challenge #57

To make this I cut out a circle using sizzix die, stamped flowers (from Scrappy cat - garden collection) on a separate paper, colored (with my Sharpie markers) and fuzzy cut them. The vertical line was stamped with my leaf stamps. The flowers were stuck and pearls were added along with sentiment and dash lines to complete the card.

The challenges are -

Now my second card, is inspired by the sketch at House of cards - CAS challenge and theme at Addicted to CAS #19

To make this card, I used my hand drawn wave mask and inked up to create multiple layers of waves. I did some more masking to create sand. The focal image is a sail boat which was hand drawn and colored with Sharpie Markers and fuzzy cut and stuck in the background with foam dots. Sentiment (from My Mind's eye - the sweetest things) was added on vellum. Here you go...

Birthday wishes...

Yesterday, was kind of a dull day... I was just not getting my crafting mojo at work ;) but today I am happy because I could  create a card :) This card is inspired by different challenges from sketch to theme to colors. So, here's my card...

This one is pretty easy and quick card. I took a white panel and inked (Memento Dew drop inks) up the panel in different shades using masking technique. I then stamped the butterflies (Martha Stewart butterfly stamp set). Finally I did some doodling on this panel creating a flourish and dash lines using my fine tip pen.
This panel was stuck on kraft card stock, sentiment and pearls were added as finishing touches.
