moved!

I HAVE MOVED!!! Text me so I can give you the add~ ;)

iPod!

OMG!!!

Thank goodness the last time I blogged about wanting to get an iPod Touch, I didn't. I would seriously kill myself if I had gotten one then.

Why?

BECAUSE it used to be $308 for 8GB and $468 for 16GB, and now, it's still $308 for 8GB but $468 for 32GB!!! OMGOMGOMGOMG!!!

Not that I'm a beeeeeg fanatic of having lotsa GB... but still?? same price for DOUBLE? SHIOK LEH! Even more perks to get iPod Touch 32GB instead of the $308 one!

And now that my iPod is SERIOUSLY giving troubles... can't really charge it cuz it keeps giving errors. Can't charge = less battery = NO BATTERY = NO MUSIC = boring bus trips home! =(

So now it's the fight again!

Will my next new gadget be a...

iPod Touch 32GB @ $468

OR

iPod Nano 16GB @ $288?

DILEMMA!

But anyhow, I just bought a new laptop at IT show which cost be $1028 plus I paid a lump sum to CPF for my education loan plus a little bit of Korea trip's expenses...

ANYWAY, I'm dead sleepy now... so TBC-ed! :) zzzz nights peepz!

glossy brown!

Me ish glossy brown!!!

Ok not really there... but maybe tomorrow it'll be lighter.

Many thanks to lion king for helping me out with the bubble hair dye today!!! I got the Liese Glossy Brown hair dye~ Not too sure if I did it right, but seems alright so far and I'm loving the colour! I wanted to surprise everyone but hmmm... wonder if the colour's still around when I see everyone. Angie could see the difference cuz the lighting in Coach was so bright, it made it pretty obvious. But its still not so super brownish that you can see it in the zi bai photos that we took today with fel~

Oh wells, removing stitches early tmr morning. So TIME FOR BED! oYasUmI nAsAi!!! :D

October 16

darling told me about this horoscope site:

Libras born on October 16 are peace-loving individuals who can meet tough challenges. These engaging men and women have an almost childlike love of the spontaneous gesture. Further, they have the ability to judge others in a wise yet kindly way. They have a strong humanitarian streak.

Friends and Lovers

October 16 natives have no trouble making friends. Their sincerity and lack of pretense draw others to them. October 16 people are very romantic, yet they are practical and will not allow themselves to be so addicted to a relationship that they can't see reality.

Children and Family

October 16 natives understand how to make peace with the past. Although they have high ideals, they are not idealists. As parents, they are able to let their hair down and get involved in their child's life. They can play the role of authority figure and friend.

Health

While keeping active enough to remain healthy is rarely a challenge, eating right can be difficult. They can be junk-food junkies. They care more about how they feel than how they look. When they use this attitude to change their ideas about food, they'll gain new perspectives.

Career and Finances

These versatile men and women can see themselves in a variety of professions, and they are not afraid to change directions and pursue another path. Because of their need for freedom in assessing career options, they are comfortable with their financial situation changing radically from one job or career to the next.

Dreams and Goals

People born on this date need to have fun. October 16 men and women can set specific goals for themselves without becoming obsessive. They have great organizational ability and know how to take a project one step at a time.

You should embrace: People of substance, information, wise choices

You should avoid: Shyness, unrealized dreams, lack of fulfillment

Anyone wants to agree/disagree? ;)

MC

Long-term MC isn't exactly very fun... especially when you can't EAT much. *SOBZ*

Doesn't help much that I skipped 2 classes this week and haven't been revising at home AT ALL. (DIEEEEEEEEE)

Exam's just 2 weeks away!

Choco-banana milkshake is my newest love, tiding through the food-less times. It's extremely annoying to be nursing swollen cheeks, its like putting on 50kg but all on your face only. -.-

*ROARS* I'm dying to be doing some form of exercise or activity. CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT WITHOUT TOMATOES!!!

2 swollen tomatoes

I never told you

I miss those blue eyes
How you kiss me at night
I miss the way we sleep
Like there's no sunrise
Like the taste of your smile
I miss the way we breathe

But I never told you
What I should have said
No, I never told you
I just held it in

And now, I miss everything about you
Can't believe that I still want you
And after all the things we've been through
I miss everything about you without you

I see your blue eyes
Everytime I close mine
You make it hard to see
Where I belong to
When I'm not around you
It's like I'm not with me

But I never told you
What I should have said
No, I never told you
I just held it in

And now, I miss everything about you
Can't believe that I still want you
And after all the things we've been through
I miss everything about you without you

touched

I always think its the little things that matter, and its true!

Thanks to those who thought of me:

debz & mel for accompanying me to Everything With Fries on a lazy Sunday afternoon, they could have been happily shopping at Parkway. Sour cream fries and dessert was AWESOME!

Toiletmates for the Bai Se Lian Ren chocs, last time and this time, I totally heart them and heart you 2 too! We should have a decent meal together, no 1 hr ice-cream meet-ups... NOT ENOUGH TIME!!!

QH for bringing me Heroes 4, even though I asked a month ago, and we've never talked about it again. I want to look through his list of 150 movies!

mono for meeting me at 11pm even though she's worked all night and is probably dying to go home, and continue to work more. <3 gf!

von for sending me many texts before and after my op these couple of days to make sure I don't feel so scared about my wisdom tooth extraction. Paisei I was quite groggy earlier to reply like a sane person. Appreciate it :D

darling who sms-ed me after my op too.

And to the many others whom I can't remember to thank at the moment. THANKS!!!

P.S. A thank you note from my colleague's daughter, whom I helped to solve some maths qns for:

Thank U very much for your help.Remember the last time u help me,I got all the sums correct and got a sweet from my teacher.Thank u very much.

So sweet huh? She's only P5 and she's so appreciative of others. =)

update!

- Eye brows plucked (OUCH)
- Bubble Hair Dye bought!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!

GA tomorrow. Will be joining lion king in the liquid diet. hurhur. I think she has had so much milk she'll keep away from milk for at least a month after she recovers. kekez

Time for bed, early day tomorrow. Can sleep while under anesthesia anyway~ hahahahahaha. NIGHTS!

11:40pm Andrew
what did you do?

11:41pm Yu Lin
me?
nothing much
just eating and sitting around!!!
hahahahahaha
getting FAT!

11:42pm Andrew
you will still be cute even if a little chubby

11:42pm Yu Lin
hahaha
thanks for the sweet-talking
hahaha
makes me happy still :P
hahahahaha

Americans~ We Asians will always be considered 'small' to them no matter how un-skinny (note I didn't use FAT) we are.

So if you're feeling not-so-skinny, just msn an American guy (that you know) OR flip through some fb photos of some REALLY not-so-skinny American girls. hahahahaha.

RT 2

More Random Thoughts.

- I want to go to Sun Moon for Salmon Dragon Roll & Tofu Cheesecake.
- sis is home and really looks like a swollen tomato. OUCH. *pat pat*
- I want to go rollerblading and/or ice-skating.
- I want to learn to play Tennis.
- net got me Bai Se Lian Ren choco biscuits from Hokkaido!!! :D
- Some suggestions I gathered when I asked: "I want to do something different. What should I do?"
debz: Go to Marc and change a hairstyle.
mel: Learn a dance - salsa/hip hop.
darling: Want to learn cooking?
I think I'm going to get my eye brows plucked to begin with. Changing a hairstyle is too extreme. I was thinking of dying my hair chestnut brown somemore. hahaha.

Ok Lunch time.

random thoughts

I'm beginning to churn streams of random thoughts lately, probably due to reading darling's frequent streams of random thoughts on facebook.

Anyhow, let me sum up my thoughts:
- Haven't seen sis for many many days (since Thursday) cuz she's been hospitalized for a jaw operation and even though mum and dad have been fussing for me to go see her and show her some 'concern', they haven't exactly made it any easier for me to go. (eg. going early in the morning so I wake up to find that they have left WITHOUT me) I'll probably go see her tomorrow, if there's transportation of course. The weather sucks to have to go there and back on my own.
- My wounds from my mini biking accident are recovering just fine, but the muscles are taking a little long to STOP aching. Feeling much better anyhow.
- I haven't been studying over the past week, and I really ought to, since I've got 3 lessons next week!!!
- I haven't flipped through today's Recruit to look out for jobs for von & mono. Done!
- I didn't sign package for Pure Yoga yet cuz I decided it's a hefty sum to be contributing (min. $129/mth for 2 years) if no one's joining me and I don't have a car. Toiletmate suggested Absolute Yoga which I checked out the website last night. It is more flexible in the membership as you can have prepaid lessons, and not per month subscriptions, which makes it worthwhile if you don't go regularly. However, it's rather costly if you break it down into per class amounts, assuming I wanna go for at least 2 classes a week, maybe 1 hot 1 cold, which is quite acceptable.

2 classes a week = approx. 8 classes a month
For Pure Yoga, $129/mth for 8 classes, its about $15/class
But for Absolute Yoga, 20 classes @$399, that's about $20/class! ex hor? and it's a discounted rate sumore!!! *faint*

Anyhow, mono was saying we could check out Amore Fitness since they have yoga too... and I haven't got the chance to go to the Tampines 1 outlet to ask for more info. They have gym too!!!

- Stupid beetle keeps flying around my living room.
- Wedding Dinners should start BEFORE 6.30pm since they're always dragged to begin. 7.30pm on invitation cards is a big no-no unless you start a-on-time!
- Food at Fort Canning Park - The Legends wasn't fantastic at all. Quite disappointing.
- Bride was super skinny!!! As compared to her photos previously. Thus, it's essential for brides-to-be to slim down to their ideal figure so they look absolutely gorgeous and have no excuse of looking less-than-perfect on their big day! :D
- Rice at 10 keeps me awake until now. :S
- I need to get my Toshiba up and going!!!
- Time to zzz~
- Me wants to eat Wahiro Sashimi Set, try out Momoya Buffet and Yakitori Buffet @ Mohd Sultan, eat Everything with Fries' curry fries and Loy Kee Chicken Rice. Can I have some nice baked pasta too? :D Shall have grilled cheese tmr! :)

thots

一心一意

Should we put the whole of our hearts to pursue just one ultimate goal in life?
Should we concentrate on doing our best in whichever industry we are in, whichever career path we take?

Or should we change our goals as time goes by, as life goes on?
Or should we juggle whatever we can, as long as we can?

How about the people in our lives?

Do we stay truthful to the people we love?

Or do we move on to others when the people we love don't seem to care so much about us after all?

It's never a fair game or fight, is it?

Nvm. I'm not quite making sense.

Back to STUDYING.

get lost.

If you have nothing positive to say to me or about me, please just get out of my way and out of my sight.

It's not that I can't take criticisms about me, I just don't see the rationale in putting up with someone who sees nothing good in you. REALLY.

If you have nothing better to do ONE MONTH after we return from holiday, please kindly GET OFF THE FREAKING PHONE AT 12.04AM and do the accounts YOURSELF since you have such a fantastic idea of how much we've spent anyway.

DON'T ASK ME TO DO IT BECAUSE I DON'T FREAKING CARE HOW MUCH WE SPENT.

Simply 'cause I only have to pay for my air ticket and I have already done so. And I don't feel a least bit guilty not sharing the remaining cost of the trip BECAUSE:

1. IT COULD HAVE BEEN MANY TIMES MORE ENJOYABLE IF NOT FOR YOU.
2. I planned the entire trip and did almost all the freaking research (got sis to help out with hotels after I almost went crazy).
3. I got freaking yelled at for not doing a thorough plan (oh please she totally didn't even read the itinerary I painstakingly created but could not be used because of so many reasons).
4. I don't get ANY credit for the work I did and am treated like a slave tour-guide THROUGHOUT the trip with barely ANY freedom as an adult-being.
5. The cost of the trip increased TREMENDOUSLY when a 3rd person was added to the trip, thus causing accommodation costs to DOUBLE. Not to mention that SOMEONE wanted to stay at the Intercontinental Hotel Group places which added more to the cost.
6. The cost of food exceeded budget too 'cause we have restaurant food EVERYWHERE WE GO.
7. You totally IGNORE and DISREGARD how I feel at ALL times that sometimes I really suspect if I am but a tool to you or an object you control. That even though lion king and I are sisters, she's your daughter while I'm just someone you picked from the dustbin to be your slave.

There you have it. Thank you for reminding me that I would NEVER go on another trip with you OR my sis (lion king too bad for you cuz bringing you means bringing her and I'm not risking that AGAIN. NEVER.)

What a horrible end to my great day. *ROARS* I'm still not going to do the accounts. Since you have such a clear idea of how much we've spent, you can do it. I'm not so eng to do this kinda rubbish for you. Like YOU SAID, I have poor accounting/budgeting skills ANYWAY. So just Leave me alone.

CNY Resolutions

The big word this year (lunar new year) is ROUTINE.

I've decided that inline-skating (better known as rollerblading) will be included in my routine from now on! (or at least I'll try to make some space for it) Simply because, I have my own pair of skates and they shouldn't be left to rot! And skating makes me happy and it's a good sport. So, inline-skating will now take the 9am-11am time-slot on my Saturday mornings. YES I MUST WAKE UP EARLY!!! No more sleeping in on Saturdays. Anyway I end up sleeping late and waking up not-so-late too so I guess regulating my sleeping hours to accommodate an exercise is a much healthier thing to do than to watch shows until 4am. :P

Oh and before I forget, Thursday evenings are officially taken up until the end of March as I will be taking my Module 1: Foundations in Financial Planning classes every Thursday evening from 6.30pm - 10pm and some Tuesdays of March. And for this course, I think I should set aside some time to study my notes regularly!!! Another activity that has to be schedule into my routine.

Next up, I think Dim Sum should be embedded in my routine too! Not a weekly event, but maybe... at least once a month? or twice a month? hehehe. So as of now, Dim Sum's scheduled for 7th March with girlfriend, debz & mel~ YUM YUMS!!! =)

So that's all for my stuff-to-be-scheduled. ROUTINE!!! With skating added into the workout routine together with squash, I think I'm finally moving my fats a little bit more!!! :D Oh and more dim sum to add on to the fats~ *ROARS* Time for bed now!

One more thing to make routine: Sleeping before 1am. Trying hard! Just not tonight ;) Night peepz!

Coming up

Looking forward to 1938, it's gonna be awesome! It's been some time since I went to a big band performance or a concert so I'm really looking forward to it! Unfortunately it falls on the same night as my uni BBQ gathering and kesh's proposed Homesteadies CNY gathering at her place. I think I can manage going to the BBQ early then slipping off to the concert but the gathering won't be able to fit in. boohoo. So no Homesteadies CNY gathering this year :( though After 7 club is still meeting up! *Hearts After 7*

CNY has been great~ Loads of rest and some meet-ups. *Thumbs up* Speaking of which, I ought to get ready to see roomie, JL & CCTV soon! :D lalala~

Happy CNY & Valentine's Day!

hihi~ Sorry I've been lazy and have not been updating... Glad I'm in time to wish everyone a Happy Lunar New Year and coincidentally Happy Valentine's Day too! I would think that this year the dominant feeling is CNY even though it's Vday today as well. Seriously, anyone feeling the spirit of ~~LOVE~~ on Valentine's Day today?? Zilch. Except for the fact that cuzzie Jimmy brought his recently ROM-ed wife to ah ma's house in JB, and how he politely introduces her to everyone in the family as 'my wife' thus reminding me a teeny weeny bit that it's Vday today, I seriously don't think it feels like a Vday at all! In addition, they were both dressed in pink and I think the way he says "my wife" so naturally to everyone makes him so sweet. I can't wait to go to their wedding!!! :D

Oops I side-tracked. Anyway, CNY visiting was as usual this year, just to ah ma's house in JB and ah ma's house downstairs. Cousins and I were discussing how the relatives visiting has dwindled over the years and how we most probably wouldn't be following this tradition when we form our own families or when we are of a certain age. Sadly, it's the truth. There doesn't seem to be much meaning in the visiting anymore. We all say "Happy New Year" to each other and the occasional "how are you doing" or "what are you doing now". Amongst us, some of these relatives we have not seen since the last lunar new year and we most probably wouldn't see until the NEXT CNY visiting session. Seriously, do we really care what everyone else is doing with their lives?!? If not, why do we bother to keep up with this tedious process of house-hopping and eating when we could just spend our time at home with our loved ones, albeit our family members or our lovers or even just ourselves. Hmm... pointless.

Anyhow, I'm feeling tired so I'll jump to bed soon, after I wash up of course. I was out with fel on Friday and got interested in this watch.

I had to google abit to find the picture and in the process, I came across this one too!

I think the first one's more casual and the 2nd one's a lil' too formal... So I might stick to the first one if I wanna get a watch soon. TEMPTED!!! Maybe it can be a Vday present to myself?? hahahaha. EXCUSES. I'd want another pair of Havaianas too... but hmm... I have way too many slippers!!! :S We shall see. I was tempted to consider getting a Blackberry Curve too after I saw rux's!!! Thank goodness the Singtel Broadband on Mobile plans aren't so cheap.

Anyway, time to wash up and rest. Take care peepz~ Hope you all had a great time whether it's CNY or Vday or just a long weekend! ;)

For Day 3 to Day 4: here

Time flies.
So you'd better too.

Love that! Facebook photo uploader is not being very nice to me... which is why I'm taking forever to upload my Korea photos. But be patient! I'll slowly upload everything! :D

It's almost a week since I'm back from holiday... still getting used to work. Some emo momo moments this week due to many reasons that isn't really convenient to share. On the whole, I'm glad I'm alive and kicking.

CNY approaching. Mum's nagging (again). HAIZ. Must do something about all the rubbish in the house. *ROARS*

I would consider having a cold a minor setback that doesn't deserve a blog entry... But not if I just puked about half a dumpling that I had during dinner!!! darn. how gross. And I'm still having that puke feeling in my throat. SUCKS! Anyway, guess it's just indigestion. hahaha. Nose has been crazy since the afternoon, much better since I left the office but oh wells, still running for awhile when I got home.

Oh and I think I'm catching the clumsiness from everywhere. Almost tripped and fell when I was coming out of the bathroom earlier, and got myself some blue blacks yesterday. HAIZ.

Ok lazy to blog liao. Can't taste the yucky taste! EEKS. gonna zzz. 2 days before dad + mum + sis are back. OMG 1 week to KOREA!!! hahaha. CAN I STOP SNEEZING PLS!!!

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of fate
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years finds
And shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I'm going to find the book - Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game That Changed a Nation by John Carlin for better understanding of the show.

And the lesson I've just listened to today is SUPER COMPLICATED!!! *faints* Definitely found some lines that mum would have to memorise. Still got to plan itinerary and what to bring!!! sleepyyyyyyyy

travelling

While chilling out with mono, debz and our new friend Ines last night, the topic of horse-riding was brought up. And I suddenly realized I MISS HORSE RIDING!!! Not that I actually used to horse ride on a regular basis, but I did get to ride a horse on a holiday in New Zealand quite some time ago when I was much younger. The experience was really fantastic and I used to really love horse riding, hoping to have another go at it. So that would be added on to my list of to-dos when I go overseas:

- Surfing
- Horse riding
- Bungee jumping
- Sky diving
- Scuba diving
- Skiing + Snowboarding (soon to be fulfilled!!!)
- Golfing
- Go-karting
to be continued...

S.E.O.U.L Part 1

One of the most exciting parts of 2010 is the upcoming KOREA TRIP!!! And I'm proud to announce that I have finally started picking up the language again! With the help of this, I'll hopefully be able to speak or understand a lil' bit of korean when I'm there!!! How exciting!

Bad news is... I haven't settled all the accommodation yet but it's all in progress. Itinerary was prepared when I just booked the air tickets so that shouldn't be hard to fine-tune and add in some other sight-seeing stuff in case we get bored of shopping. :D

Sleepy now, so time to go to bed. Got to rest well so I can work hard for the next 2 weeks before I head for my long-awaited holiday. WHEE!!!

2009

I would really like to type a long entry to summarize the year that has past but I doubt I have the patience and inspiration to type that much. So while I still have some thoughts about the year that has past, let me continue.

2009 has been an awesome year (yes every year is awesome), it marks the completion of 1 year in adulthood, working and feeding myself (well not entirely, I still eat at home), no longer being in school and getting allowance.

Work has been great. I'm happy there are no office politics. No doubt there is unhappiness at times because of the structure and hierarchy, I find there is no outstanding issue that I really can't tolerate. Instead, I find my work relationships somewhat similar to that of family. Despite the occasional nagging from my parents to find a 'real job' (self-employment is not a job to them), they are thankfully quite supportive most of the time and I think I really can't ask for more.

Personal life has been slack. I haven't been exercising much and am increasing in kilos which I hope would change with the increase in the number of squash buddies I have. Hip Hop classes with mono marked a turning point in my seemingly boring exercise regime that I should explore other options. Maybe soon, I'll try ballroom dancing! I need to catch up on reading too!

Social life has been relatively well-maintained. With the hectic work schedules that everyone has, I'm glad I still see my girlfriends and guy friends once in a while or more. We still celebrate birthdays and try to keep up with each others' lives. I hope this maintains as we stay long in the working society. I haven't attended many weddings, in fact, I only attended 2 - 1 ex-colleague and 1 current colleague. It's a joyous occasion and I'm looking forward to attending the weddings of those close to me ie. my cousins' (soon), my girlfriends' (years to come) and my guy friends' (many years to come). I'm still keeping in touch with friends (not from Singapore) I have made during WAT last year and occasionally with my Italian roomie. It would be great if I could plan to visit them wherever they are. I have also found friends who are suitable for random and impromptu meet-ups, whether it's for ice-cream, dinner or anything in general. So I'm thankful for all the new friends, old friends, newly found old friends and my family who've stuck around for the year. ;)

Erm... I think that's all I have for now. Nothing inspirational to share, so... have a great year ahead!!! :D

tada!

YAY I completed 1 thing that I wanted to do today... which is to change my blog design! But while doing it awhile ago I kept dozing off, so I guess I really need to sleep soon! ;) zzz... Uploaded photos from xmas and throughout the week! zzzzzzzzz

Happy 2010!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I'm thankful to be home at 1+am despite the unextended bus timings, credits to Zhiheng who gave in to my last minute unreasonable request which I feel terribly guilty of. I promise I will give him a ride when I get my own car or when I get to drive, and he can nua all he wants while I drive him to wherever he wants to go, just to make up for my ridiculous request. I am really glad I didn't have to spend half an hour to wait for a cab or a bus and feel so uncomfortable when I'm so uber sleepy and can just knock out any second. So, THANKS for being so nice in the first hours of the new year to the little mean me. Appreciate it. :)

And of course, I spent new year's eve counting down at kesh's place again!!! Impromptu decision made while we were out for dinner which we were looking forward to but totally disappointed us. In exchange, we got a free meal, and we had Sarpinos' at keshia's!!! I got to have my White Russian (next time less milk more kahlua pls) and Orange-pineapple juice too! And sitting around bitching about the countdown shows and the female Mediacorp artistes etc. Thanks kesh for having us around! And thanks mono for your crazy emo-ness that's so unpredictable and random but brings us to a fantastic get-together and a free dinner!

OK I'm uber sleepy liao. Time to bathe and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and see ya all next year!!! :D
