The Advent Pt1
Date: Monday, May 11, 2009
It's been a long while. Blogging now is actually a result of a class movement. A spark resulting from the inspiration of others.
What happened so far includes a period of transition and the advent of a new life.
The after O levels break served to make me detest long holiday breaks. 6 months of total sloth and laziness goes beyond my tolerance of brain deteoriation. The days would begin at 11am and end at 1am. Activites that populated my day would include hours of television watching and hourly snacking. I could feel my brain becoming mush. Blank blank blank. When no thoughts come to your mind, I think some educational input is to be in order.
The only meaningful activities that I could remember doing were the weekly runs. 2.4km and fitness training. I must say, looking back at the commitment, I am impressed for getting myself to stick to an activity and actually improve in it. So kudos to myself , HAha!!!!
Many thanks goes to Dylan, Marucs Wong and Lee Chuan ( the order is listed in descending order of the level of commitment and dedication to the weekly fitness training). Without you all to run along with, I would have given it up almost immediately.
April 13, the day both dreaded and anticipated arrived. The first day of Orientation at SP, my new school. This unconventional route was chosen out my inability to swallow any more knowledge pertaining to the conventional Secondary/JC topics. The sheer thought of having to digest another 2 years of useless information on subjects that I am fast losing patience and interest in, would cause much discomfort to both mind and stomach.
The day began when Sean met up with Jansen at the Dover MRT station at what i recall to be 8.45am. Then began the hike up the slope of the business school. DBF students were to report at mlt 10 and DBA students, mlt 12. Parting ways at the base of the building amidst renovation, only adds to the tantamounting feeling of unrest. What does the day have in store for me ?
Entering the doors of mlt 10, i was greeted with a lecture hall, old in comparison to SJI's and much in need of refurbishment. DBF 01 is my class and we were to be seated at the very first row. And that's where I made my first friend in SP, Graeme. The Maris Stella student was the first to arrive followed by me, DeYun and XiuE. Then came JingHan and XiangFeng. For that day, I could no longer remember the names of the rest of the class. The other half who were seperated by the projector seemed like a motley crew which I hadn't dare to speak to. As the saying goes, all in due time.
Sec 1 Orientation
Date: Friday, December 22, 2006
Supposed to be doing chinese research right now but haven't posted in a long while so here goes. The new secondary one cohort has finally arrived. Got to see some familiar faces of those younger anthonians, all have that stuck-up look. Guess that they're just not used to the new environment hope they'll adapt soon. The day started like this, reached school at 7:30am meet at LT1, Mr Dominic Ang asked all those with unacceptable hairstles (those that didn't comply with the shool rules) to stand in front and he just instantly dismissed them
( i admit that I should have left too, I feigned ignorance :p), asking them to leave the school premises. Really harsh but I guess that is to give the parents a better first impression of the school, can't have hippees all over campus. Then according to where we sat, we were assigned the classes so I got group 3!! Yay, the one I was in when I got orienteered !! So before that had to help with the registration and stuff. Realised Zhi Sheng has some sort of inferiority complex towards adults... when we saw the sec 1's, they all looked like lost sheep, I guess everyone once had that look too, I'll give them 3 weeks and I'm sure they'll all be boisterous Well other than that, today was the first time I wore my long pants XD Yay !! no lnger in shorts !!! Oh and I have also adopted a more optimistic way of looking at things, I hope that I'll change for the better.
On the 19th, I went to the flower exhibition and snapped like 34 mb worth of pictures, my father snapped about 200mb !! anyway, there was one really impressive one (to me at least) it was rather english based as there was a crusader who got slayed by a dragon and some lion portrait made of flowers, really cool. Post the pictures when I have the time . Cheers !!
3 stationery objects, Orchid
Date: Friday, November 24, 2006

Skipped training today. Wasn't feeling too good. Got some stupid blocked nose... Can't remember what happened. But I know I couldn't sleep sooooo, I did my art homework!! Finally started work on it. Finished the three stationery objects and finally my orchid which is by the way, wilting and if i'm not wrong, transpired in the fridge(for I left it there for weeks!!)OMG, then my pineapple must be rotting!! :p Started work at 11+pm till 1am. Then I finally felt tired and slept well that's all ,Cheers!!

Leisure Piano Course & Casino Royale
Date: Thursday, November 23, 2006

I really hate idling and so I signed up for some courses during the holidays. And thus I have decided to try out piano, once more ( did it when I was like 5 and I really hated it then, couldn't appreciate). So I now take the Leisure Piano course at Cristofori Music School at Jurong East. Take 51 to the bus depot, how convenient.Reached about half an hour earlier so I bought a waffle covered hotdog from the bazaar(that was my lunch...) and went to the library to look for a book on heroes for the chinese holiday hw... couldn't find any in time so gotta do it another day... Anyways,my teacher is Miss Wee and she is quite fast paced in her teaching... she must expect alot from me maybe because I had a little bit of musical exposure when young, JMC- Junior Music Course, by Yamaha.I remember I took lessons from the Marine Parade Branch and boy was it tiresome then. Now with interest, I hope to pick up as much as possible during this holiday, 3 more hourly lessons with her. Well I sure had fun during that one hour. My lesson starts from 2 pm. Went home then met up with Lee Chuan, Keith, Matthew and TzeYang at Plaza Singapura to watch the James Bond Casino Royale Movie. Met up with Keith at Mac while Tze Yang and Matthew were at Carrefour. Lee Chuan came abhorrently late !! Atrocious! especially since he's the one with the tickets!! Humph, we were supposd to meet at 5pm but he came at 545pm, the time the movie started but he came just in time. Before the show, we went to Daiso then Carrefour to buy drinks for the show, mainly because the price of those at the cinema vendor was quite expensive and I had no cash, only NETS. My treat =) Lee Chaun and Matthew bought the popcorn in th end...The movie was mainly focused on the gambling... but 007 ( *warning Major Spoiler*) was in the end played out by the woman he was soon to marry and thus begins the continuation of Casino Royale. The show ended at 8+ and immeadiately both Lee Chuan and Matthew demanded paymen for the popcorn and tickets. How annoying for I had to go down to the basment just to withdraw cash and also the fact that I had already treated them to drinks and popcorn each time we watched a movie... Talk about being ungrateful!!! Well whatever, we left to find dinner and after much debate, we settled on Sakae Sushi. Tze Yang actually ate a portion of my dinner!!! because he mistaked mine for his and the mistake was only realised when his food came .... Nvm. Then we went back to Plaza Singapura basement for I wanted to deposit the amount I collected from them after I footed the bill. Then we left. Matthew hitched a ride back from Lee Chuan's dad, Keith, Tze Yang and myself took the train home. I was th only one taking the North-East line. Yay, only 3 stops till harbourfront!! then with another bus I was home. Oh I also apologised to Tze Yang for over-reacting when he ate my food for there was a long silence from me then :p OH and Tze Yang really slim down !!! Either that or a)he's sucking in his gut or b)he's wearing a corset. Joking. He really lost alot of weight !! happy for him. Well that's all cheers.
Unorthodox
Date: Tuesday, November 21, 2006
( on the way home from MacRitchie)It is unorthodox for the Sean training regime. Rarely do I go trg on a tuesday but I did! If I can remeber , it was quite tiring. Tiring in spirit for I still get trashed by sec 1's. Namely Seng Yang and Matthew. Joel didn't come again.... poor thing. Must be difficult, Aunt got hospitalized( hope she gets well soon) and stuff, stressful. Things will improve so don't be sad Joel, remember to come for trg when things settle down. Even coach says that it'll be unhealthy for you if you worry too much. Well that's it for today. Cheers

(some pictures of the French Stall, located at Serangoon)
Skipped training today. Was too lazy. Sorry Yi Qing for my incompetence. Anyway, went to school to purchase school books. Was raining when I got there. Very few ppl . Went to the temporary bookshop at 426( I think it was) and got all the required books. Btw, they don't accept NETS only cash. Because of that my dad had to drive all the way to the bank at Newton Circus to withdraw money.... Spent the time waiting, chatting with the bookshop lady and her assistant. Friendly people even joked on locking me up for being unable to pay .Lol. Was determined to not to buy the Geography books for I am really serious in dropping that subject next year in place for art. Got my hands on the full history TextBook instead. Last copy !!! but OMG it was 614 pages thick and it looked like those books on amazing facts, ok history is also facts but I mean it looked really hard to digest. Changed my mind about buying it and bought the Geog stuff instead( in case Goh Poh Kenn doesn't accept my dropping of geog for art). Then my dad finally came and so left with the 'quite heavy' load of books. Then went to Toa Payoh, United Uniforms and bought the long pants for next year along with some more extra Uniform shirts. Errands for next year is COMPLETE. Went to buy crystals straight after( I'm a collector). Bought a big quartz & pyrite (stuck together) to enhance the feng shui of the new house along with garnets, plan to tumble them till they become round. By that time, it was late so fetched my mum from Bras Basah. There was a book fair there by Popular , nothing nice but the designer books cost a bomb... imagine paying hundred+ dollars for strips of graphic pasted together. Went to a French Restaurant called "The French Stall". Interseting place. The garlic bread and white wine mussels were delicious appetisers. The food ranges from a bit too plain to slightly salty. I'll rate it 4 /5 stars for the overall judgement ( ambience, price, service and food). It is reasonable. Well that wraps up the whole day. Cheers!
(due to some stupid probelms with blogger, this post whcih just took me a hell lot of time to compose was almost gone, thus the title)
New House
Date: Sunday, November 19, 2006
Went to the new house today. Grandma and Aunt came along. While my parents were planning with the contractor and lanscape designer, I was busy plucking the crystals off the light-chandelier. Counted, there were 96 crystal balls to be plucked. Well it was quite dreary for me and my grandma... were there for like 2-3 hours.... so we spent the time sweeping the garden of it's leaves. Most of it came from a gigantic bouganvilla that was 2 storeys high! stupid plant... and there ws a dead bird. Guess that's why the cats love to come to our house... Well the rest of the day was spent at home. Cheers
Family Fiesta
Date: Saturday, November 18, 2006
Went back to SAPS for the Family Fiesta Carnival. Kinda disheartened at first because I thought that only people I don't know will be there and I also forgot to bring my cell phone !!! The moemnt I entered the school, SJI UG people were all over the place ! Yay!! not so lonely liao. There were Scouts( saw Samuel and Shannon, sorry I couldn't buy the umbrella or T-shirt), NCC air and NPCC. Saw Mr Jude Tan but I doubt he recognised me from what I was wearing... Went to canteen and found Lee Chuan(food stall), Wei Jun(forgot...) and Darren(food stall also).Met Keith at the carpark. He was to help out at the Girl Guide booth. I bought the GG cookies from Hong Lao Shi. Can't believe that she could still remember my name !! Bought 2 tins , $24... The coookies didn't turn out as expected...
not nice....Borrowed Lee Chuan's phone to call both Olivias. Had to call home and bother my mum to take my cell and locate the numbers... Sorry mum... anyways, Olivia Syn came first. I was glad that she didn't become some Ah Lian XD Had to borrow her phone to contact the other Olivia. We were all stationed at the gift redemption booth. Exchanging stamps for gifts. I remember I was doing art all the while. Lol, it wasn't crowded then. From our booth, watched the SJI bag pipers perform. People there were couldn't appreciate the grandiloquence of it all, calling it a funeral song....sad... anyway, time really passes when you're having fun and in no time or shift ended. When it close to an end, more ex classmates came =) Managed to get their contacts so that we won't lose touch. Well that sums it up, the only thing I regeret is not being able to meet up with Miss Lim... and thanks Grace for lending me the 2 bucks!! return next year!!The SJI UG ppl had to stay through the whole thing , 9 hours!!! Good job !! Cheers

Trg today was quite tiring. Joel didn't come again.... lazy ass, caused me to take T1. Realised that i wasn't quite up to standard, must be because I have no will to compete or that I'm in denial of my own lousiness. Well whichever it is, I still have to once again find my will and determination. Well went with the team to Casuarina Prata House. Located at Upper Thomson. I didn't really find anything special about the prata.... Leonard, Timothy, Ruizi, Josais, Sylvester & Lucas were the other seniors there. Left the place taking some TIBS bus no. 8**(sorry can't remember :P). I dropped one stop before Novena and took 143 home. Rushed to get ready for the setting up of the Family Fiesta Carnival in SAPS. Well when I reached school, those ppl there I realise, had really changed. (I know the root cause but I shan't disclose of it) An example would be some introverted girl has now become some 'Ah Lian'... I missed the old days then because I felt really out of place... Jiao Hui was also there helping and some others. Marcus was supposed to take the rein of the whole thing such as quantity sorting and stuff but I guess it was handled very poorly... Never mind. So I left earlier to meet my parents at Orchard Road. Can't belive they decided to take the train there instead of drive... They did it because they still had the impression that George Bush was in town but I think he already left one or two days earlier. I don't know whether inconveniences had been caused ... Anyways, went to Kino after my parents ran some errands.Went to Soup Restaurant at Paragon for dinner. Kino was closing when I got there because before that we were at Metro looking for a white coloured long sleeve shirt for my father's baptism the following saturday. They all really sucked... anyway, went to Borders because Kino was closing. Bought Japanese and French books on vulgarities. It is after all easier to learn a language from it's 'lowly' side. Well that's all. Cheers

(very first POSB card and very first bill withdrawn!!) Today is one of the most significant day of my life. My first POSB card. Allowing me to take the reins and prove my financial prudency. And best of all, NETS!!! Was rather silly though. Went to the bank with my dad in the morning. Went to a total of 4 banks. The first 3 were either closed or unable to process such matters. Finally, the one at Holland was open. Created the account with one of the counter staff. She was very friendly XD After I received my card, went to the ATM machines and withdrew $50. Then went to the machine next to it and deposited it and updated the bank book. It was all really hilarious!!! well that's all I want to talk about. Cya
Date: Wednesday, November 15, 2006
Went out with Choon Fah, Dylon, Wei Jun and Joel. The place was Plaza Singapurabut before all this, me and Joel had training in the morning. If I'm not wrong, we ran 4 km ++ because Lucas finally came for training after what seems like 'eons'. After training, went with YQ, Ruizi, Josaias(sorry I don't know how to spell) and Joel to Prata House, a little further up from the Long House. They serve Singapore's most crispy prata but certainly not the tastiest. My mushroom cheese prata tasted like popcorn !!! Anyway, back to Plaza Singapura, we met at 3.30pm and first went to comics connection where I bought the Fruits Basket chinese manga and then we headed to the cinema where Joel, Wei Jun and Choon Fah bought tickets to watch Flushed Away. Dylon and myself did not want to watch mainly because we just watched a movie a week before and is beoming too common an affair. Didn't want to experience the lacklustre feeling. Anyway, while they watched the movie, we were walking around the whole of Plaza Singapura. Bought a belt from Samuel and Kevin then went to the basement where Dylon showed me where he accessed the internet.Mainly I was at Mosburger sipping Ice tea and reading manga while Dylon was suffering from boredom. Then we went to Sembawang Music store where I also bought the music album , Studio1 by All Saints, a UK group. Not bad. Then met up with the others when their show ended. Went to Yoshinoya for dinner. Dylon had to pay for me because I already exhausted all my reserves... threw stuff at Joel while he was eating ... then went to search for PC bunk as Joel looks as if he would die if he didn't go there. Dylon led the way and got us totally lost. Turns out that PC bunk was at right where we started, next to Zone X. Only Joel played while the rest of us left. Dylon followed me. Went to Vivo City and spent the time walking through boutiques. Their clothes were ugly. That's my view. Then I met my mum and her friends. And finally went home. The End. P.s. this post is actually done on the 18th of November, I changed the date so that I can remeber th day of this happeining. Such posts do not have titles=) and this post is currently being typed while I feel kinda down.... so forgive me
Intro
Date: Monday, November 13, 2006
Ok this is the first of the four consecutive posts. This one summarises what I've done so far since the beginning of the school holidays. I went for ACE camp ( 27-30 October). Finished every work of William Shakespeare ( 7th November) where Hamlet, Othello along with Romeo and Juliet are the most tragic, Twelfth Night was adapted to become the quite recent "She's the Man" movie starring Amanda Bynes. A Midsummer Night's Dream was rather silly. A Comedy of Errors was just plain dramatic, King Lear was of some morals and the rest are yet to be rated. Watched the Prestige (8th November). Went for PSLTC(10-12 November). Things that are to come include Piano lessons, French and Japanese lessons, finishing all the Art homework from CAP art bridging course, completing the holiday homework and helping out in the school carnival at Saint Anthony's this Saturday (18 th November). So yeah, I've kept myself quite busy. So cheers everyone, Happy Holidays =)
Class Posting & PSLTC ( The Reminescense Part 1)
Date:
Last Friday, 10th of November. The whole secondary 2 level had to return to school to come and collect their class postings which will alter their course in the future. Chairman and Secretary had to reach school earlier to help out in administration. Which also means that we get to know first hand who is going where =pMy class is quite evenly distributed throughout the entire seondary 3 level, from a range of 331 to 325 ( excluding 332, no one went there) Helped Mrs Tan in marking attendance and distrubuting the SJI newsletter aong with writing down the class each and everyone was posted to. It is sometimes quite sad when you see the expression of people when their hopes get dashed. Anyway, alot of people from TDP classes since secndary 1 seem to have dropped to classes with double sciences... sad...hope that their appeals get through. I myself got into 333, I still don't know howI got in. Didn't even attend the interview nor was I shortlisted. Well it's a bitter sweet feeling because some close friends are in 334 and 335... Never mind, i'll make the best of it.Yet there are still those who remain uncontented just because they did not get into CB but still managed to get into triple science even thought their results weren't really terrific. Yes, Dylon still went to appeal, so ungrateful. Depriving those more worse off a chance to get into a better class. After the postings were done and Mr Low talked to us, there was still a 3 hour time span before PSLTC begins. Truth be told, I was really reluctant to go because I just got back from ACE camp and the thought of having to go to another one was tiring. It's not as if I had the option to quit mainly because my parents are also going away in my absence and I'm not allowed to remain at home alone for 3 days. So went to Orchard Road for breakfast and returned with just enough time to change before the PSLTC began.I was sorted into Brotherhood Veli which was the finnish translation of brother. Felt desolate because no one else from my class was there. Who knew that it would turn out to be such a fun mix. Veli consisted of Alexander (who was on crutches because he went for an operation to remove a bone deformity, hope he gets well soon), Gabriel, Joel, Shannon, Zhi Yoong, Xavier and myself. Our PSF's were Wesley and Ronney. We did activities that the Secondary 1's were to do during the orientation camp and just familiarised ourselves with it. The first day was spent mainly in the LT1 and it sure was freezing. 5 hours in an aircon room wearing only our PE attire. Chill. Basically we did alot of bonding activities and senarios where a sec1 may be really troubled and seeks for advice, just bombard him with questions and never give advice because 'no two problems are the same' and that if the advice does not work, you'll appear to be the cause of further problems in the sec 1's life.Had to go through everything the sec1's have to and that includes bathing together.Oh and we all had to do a skit. Every group one and during the rehearsal everything seems to be so hilarious but when acting it's another matter. Maybe anxiety took a toll on the performance. The whole camp was really fun and it really made an impact on me. It was wrapped up byMr Dominic Ang and Mr Malcolm Wong presenting us our PSL shirts !! Yay!! Our PSF's wore it on us and ta-dah officially PSL's as it also came along with a certificate. We'll all have to return to school on the 22nd of December to show the different groups of secondary 1's their classes and maybe also to watch them draw their shoes XD. Well, that's all folks !!
The Prestige( Part 2 of the Reminescence)
Date:
Ok , this was quite recent, around last week(8th November). Went out with Lee Chuan and Lee Xun, along with Matthew and Dylan. Went after CAP bridging course, who knew Matthew went there so damn earlyand he waitd for a total of 4 hours. Lee Chuan and Lee Xun waited for 2 hours and I ony waited 25 minutes =), for Dylan. But you cn't call us late because there was no appointed time. It was supposed to be a 4:45 pm movie. Who knew we would wath the 6:50pm one. Truth be told, I had no intention of going but only decided when Lee Chuan said he bought the tickets.... Reached Harbourfront at 5:50 pm to meet Dylan, who came at 6:15. Reached the cinema at 6"30 and bought popcorn and drinks. My treat. Watched The Prestige. It is in fact an extremely grotesque film and yet strangely entertaining. The movie is about two assistants which help to tie knots in a magic show as part of an act where the girl who will be dipped into a tank filled with water, will then escape alive and not drowned. Apparently one of the assistant tied the wrong knot and the woman drowned even after attempts to rescue her by some old man using an axe to shatter the glass. Turns out the glass is so damn thick that he didn't make it on time. The woman who died is actually the wife of the other assistant and at her wake, asked the other asistant which knot he tied which caused his wife's death but he simply replied that he didn't know. And so the competition begins. The antagonist who caused the woman's death started life anew as a magician himself and the victim, played by Hugh Jackman, visited him in his show and jeopardized it by foiling his catching the bullet trick, causig the antagonist to lose two of his fingers from his left hand. Hugh Jackman himself became a stage magician where he was asisted by the old man who is actually the ne who prepares the props for magic tricks. This time, the antagonist foiled Hugh's show by ruining his trick because he was disguised as a audience and was chosen to be a volunteer and so the rivalry goes on till the antagonist does the 'transporter man trick' where he goes into one door and appears at another further away. Hugh Jackman refuses to belief that it is done by a double and so the crazy obsession to find out the secret begins . He lands himself in some secluded town in the search of a man called Tesla who could build a machine which can cause him to teleport so that he can do the trick properly . Anyway, just go watch the show and remember that the last part is very sickening so take awhile to catch your breath. You'll need it.In short, it is a sickening feud between two people and how far they'll go to outdo each other, even if it questions the very basis of morality.Go watch
ACE camp ( Part 3 of the Reminescence)
Date:
27 to 30 October ( thanks Lee Chuan), half of the entire secondary2 cohort had to go to some God-forsaken dragon-fruit plantation in Kluang, Malaysia. Located far from the main road of Kluang (to prevent students from escaping) is the nightmarish Institute of Haiwan. Our campsite. The main building was alike a kampong hut, which was located on the top of a hill which was covered with bombarbments of "love grass" ( what's so loving about that grass, must as well call it hate grass so you can use it's stupid seeds to prick your enemies). At the moment of our arrival, we had to acknowledge our repulsive ACE instructors whom I think have no life of their own and so take sadistic pleasure in persecuting all of us as means of stress relieve(especaially Instructor Gafar or whatever his name was, the fat guy). Upon arrival of hell, our first event was to set up tent and then lunch and so we climbed the stupid mountain after pitching our tents and shouting like idiots as the group who shouted the loudest got to eat lunch first. Real dumb. The canteen was some fly infested cess pool. Food came along with spices of e-coli and the propability of food poisoning. The meal was mutton and some vegetables. Each bite consists of bone fragments from the poorly cut meat and according to friends, the vegetables had a taste of pesticide. I wouldn't know because I avoided eating anything with cellulose, with plans to constipate myself so as not to visit the nostalgic toilet with the "fragrant aroma of pee". It is just my luck, my group's first activity of the day was rafting, the worst activity out of the 6 that we were to do. It started with a simple activity of knot tying who knew we had to do the accursed "Hornet drill" where we had to lie flat on the insect infested muddy ground and cover our necks with our bear hands because they say that 3 stings from a ground hornet on your neck and you're dead. With our face flat facing the ground, you can see the wonderful eco-system of insects that crawl beneath your feet . After which we continued practising knots such as the thumb, rift and fisherman's knot. Aditya seems to be the most outstanding in this because he could remember the names of the knots that were taught within what seems to be 15 minutes. Then we proceeded to learn how to do diagonal lashing and we practised them on paddles to prepare ourselves in tying the pipes and barrels to form a raft. Raft making was extremely disheartening. The entire force was split into 2 groups by the means of a game. My group was not so good in making a raft as compared to the other but we still did our best. Miss Teresa Lim was not much of a help, she just commanded people instead of encouraging them, so thanks alot Miss Lim. We also learnt a new term for staring idle while the others were busy and it's called "Eye-Power". When both gropus finished constructing the raft which was held together by ropes tied to one another to extend their length, we had to do a mission where those that 'died' in the earlier hornet drill ( they got pinched on the neck to represent a sting) had to be taken from our side of the pond to the other which was directly across and be brought bak again by river crossing for their burial. Very stupid mission and since the raft can only hold a few people before it is totally decimated, very few people actually used the raft and after they reached the other side, the raft will be in ruins. Instructor Gafar and Adnan were in charge then. Gafar was on a makeshift canoe which was some board and had paddles which were actually 2 oars combined. Gafar would tow the ruined raft back and we had to repair it . Pull it out of the water and start tying the broken areas. Mr Daniel Chua helped us to tie some parts, he was helpful. Because we took too long, the remainder that had not yet crossed the pond via the raft, had to run to the other side to do river crossing( while doing the raft, I think Liang Zhou and some others in his group which were doing orienteering were called and asked to meet Gafar later for reasons I know not). River rafting was a bit gross because while crossing the pond, you can feel certain things in the pond which you know not what it is and that is sickening. After which, we had to do apart the raft and it seems that those who were idle had to go down in push up position, me included and just remained there. It wasn't tiring at all because we did not have to do push ups but just remained in that position. I think it is mainly because the instructor himself can't do it.Well that sums up all the activities done in my first day of ACE camp. We proceeded back to camp where we returned to our tents. Apparently, there was a shortage of tents and our tent ( WeiJun, Saiful, Tze Yang, Yong Qing and myself) had our tents taken away from us and so we were dissipated amongst the other tents of our force. Lee Xun readily acceptd me into their 207 tent. I was really very grateful. I think Saiful went to cause trouble because after we were split up, he went back to create trouble for the ACE leaders by stealing one of their shoes (namely Kenneth's). It was reported by one of them and Saiul had to do pumping... Then it started to rain because at that time, the monsoon had already come. We stayed in our tents for a looong while. The ACE leaders tent which was supposed to be mine collapsed, HAHAHAHa, that's for taking away our tent. While the one I stayed in remained sturdy. During that time we all wrote our Refelctions in the ACE booklet provided and I took solace in it because the dreary day took a toll on my spirit and I felt homesick... So i poured my misery into my writing . The booklet is currently not with me as we had to submit it to the ACE leaders on the last day. I rememeber that I wrote things like how much I regret not being thankful for the commodities of my life and such. It rained for a long while and there was a great silence in the tent I was in. Except for Aditya who spent the whole time complaining on how hungry he was and commented that both Miss Lim and Mr Koh were having s*x at the main building. Really disgusting and so he just rambled on and on...Can't remeber what we had for dinner... anyway the place is freezing at night and the early morning. Neglected my personal health by not bathing, actually most of us just powder-bathed ourselves. The miracle of powder is that is makes you feel very clean afterwards=) The activities of the next day was blur... cause i really can't remember much... wait till I get my ACE booklet back, till then, this is an unfinished post so wait for the end=) plz...
a decent post
Date: Saturday, October 21, 2006
Seems like every post from now will have to be a decent one... vague ones contributed to the demise of my proper english standards... only 69%.... extremely pathetic.... at least not everything was a failure. Well my results are as follows, Mathematics 71%, Geography 63%, General Science 66%, Chinese 59%, Art 84%, History 88% .... way below satisfactory. Couldn't get into TDP class but not really affected by it, must remain undaunted, Dauntless!!!! Now begins my posting of anything seemingly significant... Class yesterday was a bit silly, spent the majority of the time at the hall going through examination scripts and the fatal errors that many committed. I think Mr Charles scolded us because we were laughing, well we weren't being arrogant or at least not a "Yaya Papaya". Actually we , mainly I was laughing because Zhi Sheng took pens and pencils and started shoving them into Ang Kai and Yi Qing's butt... fine i am childish. Then Marcus Wong & Co. had some fascination with tickling people's backs and stupid stuff such as lifting the shirts of others.... Threw pens at him later in class, Thank you ZS for the idea.
Last Wednesday was the CAP arts selection test, was given the choice to either sketch and shade out a doll or a trumpet. Chose the doll, apparently, the trumpet was the harder one to draw. According to Lee Chuan, he was the only one to show creatiity as everyone's art work was all in 'portrait' and no one did 'landscape'.....
That same Saturday, went to Vivo City with the intention of watching Deathnote but there were only front row seats!!! Didn't watch but I still bought popcorn^^ . Went with Vincent to Coffee Club for a late lunch while Yi Qing, Wei Shun and the Lee twins occupied themselves with PSP.... then I think they bumped into what they called "aerobic gays" or something ... details unknown , was still eating Lobster Linguini at the time =) Since we were all bored of Vivo City which is very big but also very crowded and to say in the least, was BORING , we went to Orchard, Yi Qing and Wei Shun decided to take the train for they were impatient... so the rest of us went to the other drop off point and took a cab=) Supposed to meet at Orchard MRT but we went to Far East Plaza first and both YQ and WS got lost....only to meet at Ngee Ann City later( YQ & WS, when you called we were actually at Wisma Atrium, Sony Gallery, sorry for being late) so spent like another 2-3 hours there, had dinner there, at least they did. I went to The Japanese Steak House for dinner instead^^ The Angus Beef was fantastic !!!! ( the restaurant is at the top floor of Takashimaya) so that day was rather 'enjoyable'.
Hmm also went to Esplanade, before the exams, for some Art excursion. Had to comment on the OCBC painter of the year award winner ( not this year) who is also a former Josephian, Alvin Ong. Almost every work of his incorporates something about SJI, guess that it must have had a very significant impact on him.
Was dismissed directly fromt there as it was more convenient, wanted to go to Haagen Daz but the selection of ice-cream there is really pathetic... oh and there's one outlet at Vivo City as well. Guess that's all that I have to post, since there's no one that did me wrong the past few days so there's nothing to spite =) I just finished my very nice looking book, "The Ladies of Grace Adieu & Other stories", a very 'mystifying' book.

Some stories are just plain ridiculous. Particularly enjoyed two stories, "The Ladies of Grace Adieu" & the " The Cumbrian Charcoal Burner". The first is using sorcery to kill people whereas the other is the divine retribution on sorcerors, the stories are either about the Raven King or faeries which are in this case portrayed as adulterous vehement creatures with a cathedratic personality. An interesting read. The book costs $31.45 an can be found in all your leading bookstores :)

2 more days till bio and maths paper 2.... couldn't study, bet half the class wasted this day. Eased the guilt with realising that i already spent 4 hours in the morning doing revision. Went to Vivo City, kinda big but still many shops aren't open yet but the crowd was there.... every restaurant between Vivo City and Harbourfront were packed !!!My advice is that don't go there yet, you'll regret it. Go only after the 14th if you can't wait as more shops will be opened. But it'd be best if you go as late as possible. The crowd is killer, but the boutiques there are good. Went to Harbourfront's Coffee Club for dinner where I had lobster linguini ^^ . The psi reading rose to a high of 145!!! Evil Haze. Well that's all for this posting.

Project was dopey, zero production at all. Dylan lost his way so no materials and the rest were playing ... me included. Bought a keyboard piano for only $39, super cheap. Went for hair-cut today , hate the end result ... Today was a whole jumble of stuff , woke up at 11:30 am , went to Clementi Central then went to view XXXXX. Wasn't as expected, so disappointing. Much smaller than imagined ... no choice but to except it ... bought it already... About Steve Irwin's death... It wasn't the stingrays fault, it was merely protecting itself from a possible threat so it caused the grissly death, the moral is, don't provoke animals (along with humans, this is for the violent ppl).
Reeling past me

Saturday- nothing happened that I could remeber. Sunday- new math tution at Eunos, a very staccato-like teacher. ECCENTRIC.Went for clothes shopping afterwards, bought 7 pairs !!!=] Watched "Million Daughter Baby" on dvd, touching show go watch it, too lazy to write a review. Today- Steve Irwin, passionately known as the Croc Huter died. The world has lost another great naturalist... I think the most prominent naturalist death since Jane Goodall. Steve Irwin, killed by a stingray's bard that went through his chest and made a hole in his heart,
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14663786/?GT1=8506. Please pray for his soul's repose. Goes to show, never provoke an animal, nonetheless a human.I have lost my essence of writing as I am not sure of myself this days, so forgive my posts if they're crap.
Teacher's Day
Date: Thursday, August 31, 2006
Today is Teacher's Day. The mass wasn't as crowded as expected after all the workout was cancelled so all the supposed mass attenders decided not to go. Humans... The Teacher's Day performance was entertaining, had Marcus Chan ZS mauling me the whole time... The videos by the sec 4's were hilarious and touching. "Sexy, Jovial and Irresistible" hmm which Brasca was that from... Anyway, Joel had a 'spectacular' performance, I guess the whole class is really proud of him, after all, it takes great courage to stand on stage much less sing. School ended close to 10am I think...Everyone was returning to their alma mater, so loyal... Didn't return to primary school, there wasn't any point to, after all they're only three teachers that really matter to me. Ms Lim, Ms Au and Mdm Wong. They really helped me. Ms Lau is crap, hear that Kenneth Chua Eng Teck, she has always been a bitch. Will only return next year.Anyway, spent the day walking around town with Wei Shun, Dylan had 'Violin Exams. Went to Ngee Ann, Heereen then to Plaza Singapura. Spent the whole time walking around and around, what a way to kill time... Bought a very cute badge, " Me so Bitchy" !!! Well, that's how this day turned out.
Please
Date: Tuesday, August 29, 2006
Here's something to all those who wants to attend mass to skip the workout. You'll be condemned. Don't use it as an excuse to skip it. It makes religion look like a joke. But heck, that's typical of humans. When it's a time of crisis, they turn to God and beg for his help. When everything's fine, they will even blame God for whatever bad that happens. Selfish. Yu Long, you of all people should not attend. You insult all catholics in the world. You actually had the audacity to stuff the Eucharist in your damn shoe and now you want to attend Thursday's mass .You better not go. But it's gonna be quite interesting if everyone skips the workout, maybe Mr.Arul will come and chase all the non-catholics out. The future holds many secrets...
I don't understand why you won't want to do the workout, it is after all quite fun... Anyway, I am going to quit as being the class secretary =)
-my posts are all gonna be crap, no mood to type long stories so forgive me
Movies
Date:
4 movies. 1 recent, 3 others are OLD . Monster House. Date Movie. Fragile. Crash.
-
Monster House
The whole thing was about an old man who was trying to protect children from his wife, Constance who died in the construcion of the house. Her soul takes control of the house, so it's living. She was exposed to humiliation (children threw eggs at her )being a part of a Freak Show as she was reeeaaallly FAT. So now she has a vengeance with whoever intrudes on the lawn or damages the house. FYI, her body was buried alive in cement. So go watch, it's storyline is 'interesting'
- Date MovieA spoof of :
My Big Fat Greek Wedding, My Best Friend's Wedding, Mr & Mrs Smith, Hitch, The Wedding Planner and Kill Bill. Interesting movie with some rather disturbing scenes.
- Fragile

Heroine, the actress who played Ally McBeal( forgot whatever her name was) . She looks terrible, Harrison Ford must be sucking the life out of her. The show is about a nurse who comes to work in an old hospital with 3 storeys where the third is forbidden ( their system of floors is 0,1,2 so there are 3 floors =) . The ghost is some obsessive and freakish nurse who killed herself when she got fired for causing the patients health to deteoriate , she smothered the patient before killing herself by jumping down the lift shaft.
Not recommended as it is slow and the horror is just for a few scenes.
-Crash
Crash is a film of how lives intertwine and the strong sense of prejudice in our everyday lives.
Recrudesence
Date: Thursday, August 24, 2006
It's been awhile. Lots of things happening. Some interesting and totally intriguing while some are just personal. Let's start with paper bullet shooting. Childish and infantile, yet most can't deny themselves of the thrill it brings. Student leaders and students involved, at least half the class. Where I am guilty in a minor sort of way... only made bullets to pass time, shot none, threw them all away. Serious. Results are out. Failed maths ( 22/50 )
Biology lost to a delinquent, marks were ( 29/40 ) . History, my current pride and joy, 23/25 ( 92/100 ), 4 ppl got the same marks. Other than that, there has been 'tension' about the recent comments on the tagboard by " JH sux". Well, till the anonymity ends and ppl show their faces, we can only wander in the darkness. No time to point fingers, it's unhealthy as 4 points back at you.
Looking forward to the weekends !!!! Can buy what I want and also ...( for intended parties)... Hehe.
About the IMF thing. Bullocks. A false front to make us look better. Why can't we be ourselves? Isn't honesty the best policy? Well, practise that. Don't be a fake friendly capital while you just sweep the dirt under the carpet, while the truth is spoken under the blanket . Don't force us to be polite, we do it accordingly and willingly so it comes from the heart. Not what the government says.
Abortion
Date: Sunday, August 13, 2006
Opened my eyes to an old subject of great debate. Abortion. A terrible act that should only be done at the cost of the mother. From my view point, the mother should die for the sake of her child. As for young teen mothers-to-be, those who got pregnant after having a fling and such, they should not abort their children as it was their doing. Even though they will be facing a great ordeal being a single parent, they shouldn't abort the child if they can't handle the pressure but rather put it up for adoption, it's more humane. If it were possible, I wish that abortion would be illegal and offenders face great punishment. The ugly truth is that the baby in the womb is alive. When you go for abortion, the surgeon will cut the baby up, arms, legs, limbs and crush the skull so that it could be taken out of the mother's vagina as it isn't inflated unlike during labor. During the operation, the surgeon will use instruments to reach for the baby in the womb, in the ultrasound, you can see that the baby is actually alive and is trying to evade it, when the baby is getting cut up, it is actually screaming in the womb. Can you imagine being chopped into pieces when you are not even one year old? It is just plain terrible. I pray tht there would be no unwanted pregnancies in the world, so that there would be no abortions. Should someone you know is going for an abortion, please think about the life in the womb, it is living alike you and me , even if you can't raise him or her, be humane and put he or she up for adoption.I beg of you.

Innocence
this a prayer I create with a tearfor the unborn child that we couldn't even hearhis screams of fearin the womb of his mother so dearwhom so coldly decided to end his unborn tale....-Sean Thenif you read this post, please pray for these innocents to seek repose, they lost their lives for nothing and deserved more from life at the same time be thankful that you are alive
Hair-cut and art
Date: Monday, August 07, 2006
Mrs Tan was so ruthless today!!! forced me to cut my hair with Jun Hong's scissors!!! Dylan had to cut it for me as I was too traumatised to do it myself.... Sooo SAD!!! my hair is ruined!!! Lessons were stupid as Ghazali still talks rubbish and won't spare us from his shit , puh-leaze give us a break... Realised teachers can be hypocritical especially when the HOD's visit they put up false fronts, HYPOCRITES. I did Art which was after school due to the fact that I couldn't go trg today as the coach was busy. Ceramics with Soong Lin was so fun!!! The water fight was childish but totally enjoyable!!! Ran around lvl 3 and 4 , saw sooo many teachers pouring out of the Computer Lab... what were they doing? Anyway today was kinda fun...
-forgive me if this entry is crap, I am not really thinking right now-
Defence
Date:
Truly spectacular that it actually hurts, thus I have my defence. I was sick. It pierces right through me as I have a conscience which I am now trying to kill. Sorry if I made you mad and am considered one of 'them' , I suffer from a lazy bug and it isn't insolence that is acting up. Say all you want, your 2 cents worth, I'l just have to endure it till I once again feel motivated. Wanted to go today but trg was cancelled , so I'll be down on Friday, till then don't explode in my face or ignore me... It wasn't my fault that I was sick last week and that trg was cancelled today.
