We're moving house this week & a great opportunity for me to use this great new stamp from Francoise Read which I've been itching to use from the moment I saw it!
First I stamped the house onto a plain piece of white card & water coloured with Tombow pens. I left out the roof, curtains & tops of the trees as I wanted to paper piece these from the Woodare papers.
For the card blank itself I lightly marked the position where the house will be & then made a border with the paper tape. I edged the house piece & the card blank itself with a sky blue chalk inkpad. I then attached the stamped image to the card blank.
Now stamp the "Congratulations" onto some card & cut into a tag shape. "Home Sweet Home" had it's corners rounded & I attached 1/2 a cocktail stick to the back to make a little sign. To finish attach both sentiments using 3D foam tape, add a small bow of hemp to  the tag & don't forget to colour the hearts coming out of the chimney with the Stardust pen.

Time to think of the men in our lives this week & gifts for Father's Day. I have chosen a desk notepad & a pencil box to go with it. The notepad is the same as an easel card but with the pad inside which I have attached to the base. I've printed the Clock works stamp twice onto the metal sheet with Stazon. As the metal is quite soft I've taken a ball tool & embossed the pattern following the stamped lines. This gives a quilted effect & I then cut around the image on one of the pieces. This went onto the front of the note pad; you'll get the idea from the photo below. I've made a band which wraps around the pad & acts as the stop bar for the cover & keeps the paper in place.

The notepad open

And now closed
For the pencil box I firstly painted it all over with red acrylic paint & then aged it a bit by sponging some black around the edges. I then stamped one of the elements from the "Wired" set. From the 2nd piece of metal sheet I punched 1.5" & 2" circles (this sharpens your punches beautifully- no really it does!!) I also took a distressing file to the edges to give it a distressed look. On all the pieces I've set some black eyelets & threaded some lovely black & red tartan ribbon (Dorothy will tell us the name of this I'm sure!)
The top of the pencil box

The side view with the Father's Day peel off greeting added

Father's Day wouldn't be complete without a card so I've taken a plain white DL card blank & stamped all over with Clock Works & Graphite Black Brilliance. I quickly blotted the stamp before stamping to give a faded look & then sponged the edges of the card. To finish I added a bar of metal with the peel off greeting also on a square of metal. One happy father!!

Another week another challenge- as if life isn't challenging enough sometimes!! Here we have our regular monthly sketch challenge & quite a simple one this time. I have used one of Jane's Bubble Blooms & tried to create a slightly different look. After stamping onto the die cut oval I have punched some daisies & filled some of the larger "bubbles" with those & then mixed in some Candis & Elements. I've stamped the leaves onto a piece of Skagen scrapbook paper, cut them out & pieced them onto the design. If you look closely you will see that the card blank itself is a print that I produced while experimenting with the Creative Palette a while ago. I used Colorbox re inkers & pressed a paper doily onto the ink before pulling my print & got a very pretty result which was good enough to use as my card blank. Down the right hand edge of the card I have cut away a slice & pleated some of the new cotton ribbon from Woodware to give a frilly effect & I've also attached a flat piece to the inside edge of the card. Now to finish just add the sentiment which comes with the set.

Here's the sketch

Time for another challenge set by one of the Woodware retailers & the theme this month is "Mad Hatters" so I've taken this literally & used this lovely stencil from Dreamweaver. The hats are arranged in a line one below the other on the stencil so I have masked them & pasted them individually. I wanted to add  coloured embossing powders while the paste was still wet & then heat with a gun. You get a great textured effect this way & of course you don't have to wait for the paste to dry. As you can see I have used different shades of card to compliment each shade of embossing powder used & have decorated the hats with punched flowers, butterflies, leaves, feathers etc. For the background of the card I've used the stencil again but just applied inks from a chalk inkpad with a  stencil brush & added a Candi. To finish I've used the inverted corner punch on each "hat" square & have added the peel off greeting & clear Element. What a pity Easter is over for this year they could have been Easter bonnets!! Click onto one of Gwen's links to see what she's been up to!
