temple Canvas

Today I thought I would share a 6 X 6 canvas, I did for a possible craft project for the ladies at church..
The canvas was painted to seal it with cream colored paint..
I started with a vintage photo of the Navoo Temple I found on the internet.  I Started by distressing the edges of the photo... then inking with distress ink..
Then I took some Core'dinations paper and embossed it with a cuttlebug embossing folder and sanded it them I added some ink... then I did the maroon colored paper...  The music tape is from Time holtz and the pearl  is from Joanns... the flowers are  wild orchid,  I stamped on the canvas .. but you really cannot see that and added distress ink to the edges... and added some lace and a flower from Prima..

Lucky is the person.

This week on Outlawz, paper ala mode the challenge is tropical card, or by the sea...
I chose to use a great image by Squigglefly called Buried Treasure by lynne Stansbery.  I colored the image with copic markers and did some designer paper that sort of reminded me of the colors of the ocean.. the saying comes with the image... then I added some fun sea embellishments I had...
Make sure you join us on Outlawz.

Butterfly dreaming

Today on Squigglefly we are please to announce  that 3 new artiest have joined the Squigglefly family, they are,  Tam Hess, Norma Burnell, and Angela Charles.  Also we are excited to announce we have a new Design team member Jen Leeflang.  I have seen her work... and she will be an awesome addition to the team.

This week our challenge on Squigglefly, was to make a one layered card... like for me that is a real challenge since my cards normally have at least 3 layers.
my image is called  Day Dream Believ'n by Cheryl Grant Alger.  I love this simple little image... it worked great for this challenge.. Then I stenciled in the butterflies using a sponge and distress ink.   The background was a stamp and some blue Marvy ink... again I used a sponge... and the bottom I used an embossing folder and some green ink...
Thanks for stopping by .. make sure you join us this week at Squigglefly

Big fish tale

Today at Outlawz.. we are doing Father's Day cards... but since I no longer have a Dad on this earth.. I decided to make a  Anniversary card for my Hubby.  On June 20th it will be 31 years... now two things about my Hubby ... he can really spin a tale..  each time it grows a little bigger.. and the other thing is he loves to fish.  Not saying his tales ever get as big as the fish in the photo but they might after a while.

I found a vintage photo on the internet and printed it out.. then distressed it by tearing in along the edges and inking with distress ink.. then I uses a distressing tool on the outer layers and added ink.. the gears are from Tim Holtz and the tape measure tape is also from Tim.  The saying was made with stickers... but I did not have enough of the letters to say all I wanted..
