pretty as a flower

This is my latest card from an image for Scrapbook stamp society.  I made the card using an image  called Cameo  5 by Morgan Fitzsimmons.  As you can tell I love, love her images. the image was colored using copic markers and the die is from Spellbinders.  The background was done using  a technique Junkies technique called double buggin.. The
butterfly is one of Martha Stewarts and the flowers are from Michaels. except for the large one at the bottom.. and I made that.. Sometime in the future I will do a technique blog on how to do them.. I promise they are supper easy.
Thanks for stopping by..
and keep on stamping

double buggin

This is a card that I made for a coworker for her birthday.. the image is from Sweetpea Stamps and the technique I used is from Technique junkies
and it is called double bugging.. this is where you put the  paper in a embossing folder.. and emboss, then highlight the embossed areas of the card stock with ink.. on this I used memories white ink.  then you put the image back through the  die cut machine.. I have a cuttlebug.. but you put it under the folder not in it.. and you roll it back and forth about 3 times.. this will flatten the embossing.. then you use a different embossing folder..
It give a real rich designer paper look.
I have found that the best stamp pads to use are the firmer one.. when highlighting the raised embossing..
they stay on top better then the small ones or the softer one..
I wanted to make her look like she was a flower so I used some different spellbinder dies and sort of moved then around to look like petals.  then I added a butterfly from memory box and some ribbon
Thanks

Birthdays are like pickles

This is the card I made for my brother for his birthday .. the image is from Squigglefly.  When I first saw this I thought a jar of pickles why.. then I read the saying and I had to have it..   When I made the card  I colored it with Copic markers and then On the pickle and on the jar I used glossy accents to make the pickle look wet and the jar more like glass.. I did add some nail heads to the corners on the left side to make it more finished.. but I did not rescan the card.. so just pretend they are there..

Be Mine

This is the card that I made for the Squigglefly blog challenge. What you needed to do was to use ribbon, glitter and at least one brad.  To me glitter means girls stuff and since one of the wonderful new images was Valentines hearts.  This one seemed to meet all my desires for the challenge.  The image is called Heart Candy , by Betsy LePlatt, who has some really awesome images.

I colored with image with copic markers, and then  added some glitter to the plan heart using some glossy accent as  the glue.  Then I decided the little hearts looked like red hots, so I added some glossy accent to this also.
Next I sponged some  pink and purple ink onto the white areas.. because I did not want as much open space.. After that I took a purple and a red copic marker and randomly added dots to  the background.
this was layered on red paper and held together by the brads.  I then layered designer paper onto some red card stock and wrapped ribbon around the top and the bottom. Then mounted the heart candy at an angle and mounted the whole thing on a white card blank..

So get you an Squigglefly image and play along with this weeks challenge, I cannot wait to see your image.

When someone you love

I know they say deaths happen in 3's  this is the third sympathy card I have made for someone at wok since 2012 started.
The technique I used on this is the saying Vellum overlay from Technique Junkies.
The Chair is from Stampablities.  It is one of my favorite stamps for sympathy cards.
I think of it like the missing man formation for the air force.  The saying is unknown. the embellishments came from Michael's
The background paper is from Joann's

May looking back in memory

I needed to make a sympathy card so when I saw the new images come out on Squigglefly, I knew this was the one I wanted to use. the image is called Orchids by Deena Perreault, and the saying is also a Squigglefly  It is called  sympathy sentiments by Michelle Bertuzzi.  This is a set of 10 so you will always have the correct one for these very difficult cards to make.

The Orchids were colored using copic markers and then I just cut it out using a spellbinder die.
and using the out of the die technique from Technique Junkies.
the Background I wanted to keep simple so  I just did an embossing folder.

Smells a little fishy

I did another gate card, this one was using an image from Squigglefly, called a Floating Thought ,  When I was given this image to create a card with I must admit I said What can I do with it.  Animal images are not my thing.  So I decided lets go outside of the box.  So I made the image large, and colored it as a gold fish.

Then after coloring it with copic markers  I used a glossy accents to make the image stand out.  The next fun thing was my darling Husband's idea.. Chico gives me hints on my cards when I am not sure where to go.. he said it needed bubbles.  Now how do you make bubbles.. Well I decided to use small plastic accents. These where clear but I took an alcohol ink stream colored. and dyed the clear plastic,.. I read about this someplace.
Next I turned to the Squigglefly design team for help with the say inside..
And my favorite came from Terri .. This card is going to my  older sister.. so do not tell her..
