Kris Kringle

I could not resist making a second card with the Kris Kringle image from Squigglefly.  This is such a fun image.  I know I will use it some More.. I wanted again to age this.. I used the distrss ink and embossed the background.. I used the glitter pin on the raised embossing, I probly would not do this again.. at least not on a aged looking card.

Santa Claus is coming to town

This is the card that I have made for latest challenge on the Squigglefly challenge blog.  The challenge this week is inspired by a song.  The song I picked was Santa Claus is Coming to Town.   The image I used is called Kris Kringle I love this image it reminds me of the photo stamp images.  I felt like I wanted this card to have an aged look.  So I just used Tim Holtz's Distress ink to color the image with the ink applicator. and  then tore the edges.  Then I used a part of an embossing folder on the bottom to show Santa flying  thru the air.
the background is just designer paper.  I then added a wee bit of glitter with a gel pen on the hat.. to give it just a little sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by.. don't forget to enter the blog challenge I would love to see what you do with a song..
Thanks

The image I used is  called, Lil Sweetie Star Angel by Sherri  Baldy.
I love this little angel.. she was so fun to color.  The technique I used to do the angel is  a Technique Junkies technique called out of the die, this is where you leave parts to the image sticking outside of the die. Below is how the Spellbinders die looked before I put it through the Cuttlebug.

The image was colored with Copic markers and to add a bit a special glow, I colored the dress  with  a clear star Gelly Roll pen.
I love how this just makes the dress pop off the page. Then I of course had to add the glow to wings also.. you know you can never have too much bling.

The final steps was to cut out the blue layer with Spellbinders label 20. and add some swirls called Rhinestone Flourish from Michal's.  The saying is a stamp and I do not know who makes it sorry about that.
all my paper comes from Paper Temptress.  Then I added the flourish, the flourish I cut apart, because it was to large .But I used both parts by making it look like it connected.

Now my next project is a matching, (well sort of) gift card Wallet.  The wallet is another technique from Technique Junkies.
On the outside I used designer paper  which hides how you attach the  strap.  The  gift card is inserted into the fold in the center of the card.  I used Lil Star Angel in the center  of the next to where the gift card goes.

butterfly dreams

Playing with some new toys on this card.  The background was done with a new item by Sizzix, which has a matching stamp and embossing folder.. The embossing matched the stamp and so the raised portion is where the stamp is.  Then I used a butterfly stamp and used my new  butterfly circle for this.
inside the circle I sponged the around the image with distress ink..

lil Sue

This card was made with a digital image from the Scrapbook Stamp Society.  I love these images, the printing is heavy enough on them that
it makes the images easy to color.  This image is called Lil Sue , by Heather Valentin. I have done other images by her and have loved each and every one.
I hope you enjoy this image as much as I do.  I colored her with Copic markers, and using paper  from Paper Temptress  I used the Spellbinders Frameablities class frame for make the frame and the flowers. Then added some gems.

Make sure you stop by addicted stamps and pick of the great freebie image.. it is awesome.  I know sometime this weekend I will be using it and posting what I did with it on my blog.  Would love to see what you do with it too.

Christmas Angel

I just love this new image from Squigglefly called Angel with bouquet, by Inger Harding.   When I was working on the card I decided I wanted it in reds, and we know with working with Copics this is not the easist of the colors to work with.  I also wanted bling,   and glitter.
To make the wings glittery I used Stickles Stardust.  and because I wanted  The bottom of the dress and the collar and sleaves to look puffy I adde sparkly fluff to these.. so the card has bling and texture.   Be sure to join the challenge on the Squigglefly blog to  make a card with no patterened paper.  I missed my embossing folder but I think this just makes this image all the better .

just a little old fashioned.

This was done with a image from scrap book stamp society, morgans fitzsimons 1920 hat .  The image was colored with  copic markers and cut out with spellbinders die.  The Paper is from  Paper Temptress and  the flourish die is from Cherrylynn.  I love this flourish. it  is just so elligant. I used a Xyron to glue these one.. but I think there must be a better way as you need to remove the glue from all the open places with the Xyron.
