The SBS Kick Off to Halloween Blog Hop

Welcome to the SBS Kick off to Halloween Blog Hop! Betty has turned all of her DT into characters, none of them too Spooky! This is Ventriloquist Debbie, isn't she FUN, I've always been a bit of a doll and now I get to see what I look as one LOL. I'm not quite sure how I became a doll but one thinks perhaps a little bit of spiderweb dust mixed with pumpkin juice and a little spell may just have played a part!

Thanx Coach

As Team Manager for my son's soccer team I was honoured to make this card for our fabulous coach. I found this awesome digi called Dunterton Accademicals FC from Dr.Digi House of Stamps. I coloured him up in our team colours and created the background paper using a soccer ball with our club logo on - we actually had this ball made up so the team could sign it as a Thank You gift. I also overlaid "our" ball over the top of the older style soccer ball that came with the digi. This fabulous old fella and his friend play lots of sports and are great for the "older" sportsmen in your life.

Aurora Wings Challenge #57

After a month off it's time for another challenge from Aurora Wings and this time it's......

I used the gorgeous Poppy Sprite and zoomed in on her face, cropping her into a frame. I also went with blue poppy tones and created a speckled background within the square. I had originally die cut the "happy" out of the coloured image to pop up over the top, but I felt it got a little lost so kept it white and added some stardust stickles over the top for some fun sparkle.

Simply Betty Stamps Progressive Challenge - September

 It's time for the next installment of the Simply Betty Stamps' 2017 Progressive Challenge. This month we were given the gorgeous Cast a Spell Betty to use. 

This month's challenge was...

1. Must use the image and sentiment provided

2. Include 2 ribbons 
3. Use polka dot designer paper

I realised late into designing my card that I hadn't actually used any polka dotted paper so I used my GoPress and Foil and a Swiss Dots embossing folder to create some silver foil polka dots on one of the panels in my design. I've wrapped a thin purple ribbon over the top of a wider lime green ribbon to fulfil the ribbon requirement.

African Beauty from Simply Betty Stamps

Today I'm introducing you to one of the four African beauties that are now available in the Simply B Stamps Etsy Store. this one is Wanda Wraps. I loved having the excuse to challenge myself with a darker skin tone, something I don't do often enough. I also loved creating a fun stamped background which tied all of the wonderful colours I used together.

Using Windows in La-La Land

This week sees my last weekly post for La-La Land Crafts. It's been over 5 years since I joined the team and I have many, many fond memories of my time there, least of all is the people I have met, either in real life or through my computer. Many of these have become firm friends and I am blessed to have them in my life. 

The theme for this week is Windows by the way - sorry to hijack the post for my farewells LOL.

Bloobel Stamps Progressive Challenge - August

It's time for the next installment of Bloobel Stamps progressive challenge. This month we had a choice of seven different ice cream character images to use - such a FUN idea!!! Anyone who knows me well knows I'm a bit of a Christmas tragic so I had to choose Ice Cream Santa to play with. What a perfect image for a Christmas card from our hot Summertime. I coloured him in traditional colours with a strawberry "cone", "caramel" ice cream with mint and choc chips for his face and "coconut" ice cream for his beard, mo and hair 

Note - the mint and choc chips ended up being are to hide a drip of green ink that dripped on his face - there's nearly always a way to disguise a mistake

Simply Betty Stamps Progressive Challenge - August

It's time for the next instalment of the Simply Betty Stamps' 2017 Progressive Challenge. This month we were given the gorgeous Strawberry Rio to use. 

This month's challenge was...

1. Use the image and the sentiment
2. 1 Designer paper
3. One embellishment
4. Use all the colors you see in the picture to the left, anywhere in your projects. This can be used in the coloring, the papers, the embellishments, or anyway on your project but all must be used. 
5. MUST be a full project, not just coloring of the image. Anything goes: card, scrapbook page layout, journal page, or anything crafty. NO DIGITAL ENTRIES.

My little present card shape is a lot of fun to use since it doubles as gift wrapping for a small gift or treats. I've made so many of these I have plotted the measurements into the Cameo and saved the file so it cuts everything for me quickly and with ease. I absolutely love Betty's images - they are an absolute joy to colour. 

Since my image was sitting over the top of the card I also cut out a second image shape without the printing and used it to pop the coloured image up on, giving a nice neat finish to the card as well as some depth.
