Whipper Snapper Fall/Winter Image + D2D Digital Papers Blog Hop

**ETA: You must leave a way for me to get a hold of you if your name is drawn. Too many are posting as anonymous and I have no idea who you are.

Good Morning! Today many of the Designed2Delight team members are participating in a hop with Faith's new images that she designed for Whipper Snapper Designs. If you have come here from Lola's blog you are in the right spot along the hop. If not, be sure to go to the D2D blog to find the beginning of the hop. You won't want to miss out as Faith has put together a package of papers based on the papers each of us used for our projects and at each stop on the hop we can also give away a $3 Gift Voucher to the D2D store to a random commenter. You won't want to miss out on commenting on each of the blogs along the hop. A list of the winners will be posted on the D2D blog Wednesday.

I chose Faith's image called A New Sweater. Is this just too cute or what?! I also used her new digi patterned papers: Midnight Weave, Butter Plaid, Green Textured, and Orange Plaid.

Leave a message here and I will draw a name Tuesday at 6 pm CST to win a $3 voucher to the Designed2Delight store.

Next up on the hop is Debbie Standard. You are going to love what she designed for this hop.

A few more notepads

I had sold or given away all but two of the notepads I've posted and was needing some more. These have been perfect for teacher, bus driver, UPS driver (ours is a lady), secretaries and Sunday School teacher gifts! (and for anyone else I haven't mentioned).

I made this one special for a TA in our room (Teacher's Aide). She is a senior and has a zebra print purse. She is going in to fashion design and is the best dressed student! Everything she wears is so coordinated. (I wish I was more that way!) She is coordinated from her jewelry to her accessories (including the cutest things in her hair) and clothes. She keeps telling me I need to layer more. Ü I have learned alot from her and wanted to make this notepad "coordinate" with her purse.

Homemade Christmas

I usually make most of my Christmas gifts and this year is no different for me, but I have been reading several blogs and hearing people talk that they will be making gifts this year instead of buying them. I always try to make gifts that I would like to receive.

I have been making several of these notepads with matching pens (pens aren't in all the pictures, but are bagged up with them).
Monday night several gals are getting together at Huckleberry Hideout's and selling their wares.
If you live in the area, please come and visit us. It will be from 4-8 pm. While you are there be sure to take in the parade of lights. I will have these notepads as well as some other goodies I'm working on. I will post them at a later date.

Farwell to EIO

This is my last month with Embellish It. I have had so much fun being on the EIO design team.

The theme for May is "Spring is in the Air". I made a purse card carrier and some cards. The tutorial for the card carrier can be found on Julie's blog here. I used American Crafts patterned paper. The sentiment is from Lizzie Anne Designs "Say it in Script".Here are 3 cards I've made so far to put inside. I will also be adding envelopes. I'm thinking this will be one of my Mother's Day gifts.
I used a Whipper Snapper image for the flowers and SU! sentiment for this card. For my second card I used a digital image from Shirley's 2 Girls. I love their images and want to get more. I colored the image with copics and used American Crafts papers from Embellish It. For my last card I used an Inky Antic image and PaperTrey sentiment.

Christmas Stampin' catch up

Here are my cards for week 1 and 10. Now I have 11 Christmas cards done.

This is week one's sketch and my card. I love this new Basic Grey paper called Porcelain. I know yellow snow is NOT cool, but I had to make the snowman match the paper. Ü Week 10's sketch: I turned the sketch upside down and flipped the ribbon and embellishment. I love this church image by Inky Antics.

Christmas Stampin

Not only did I get alot of baking and cooking done this weekend, I was able to get in some stamping (as well as Phase 10 and Apples to Apples game playing with the boys Ü).

I missed last week's challenge due to prom and too many "irons in the fire". I did get it made up as well as week 1 (I didn't join until week 2) and will post those two cards for you to see tomorrow, so as not to get you confused with this week's sketch.

This is the sketch Maria challenged us with this week. Don't forget to check her blog and the other Diva's for their take on this sketch. I flipped this sketch on it's side to fit my image. Snowman image is Whipper Snapper, sentiment SU! and paper is Basic Grey.

Christmas Challenge #7

I can't believe we have been doing this for 7 weeks now! This week we were challenged to design our own card. Maria will be choosing a sketch from the Divas and this sketch will be our challenge down the road.

This fun image is by Whipper Snapper Designs. I used Basic Grey papers and colored with Gamsol and colored pencils.

Be sure to check the other Divas work by clicking on their names on the right or visiting the CAYL blog.

March EIO gallery open

The DT gallery opened yesterday for Embellish Online. The theme is Mix It Up. We were challenged to make projects using any product that is sold in the store. I posted 3 owl cards yesterday using Basic Grey's Mellow paper and here are two more using Basic Grey's Bittersweet. This first card is using an Inky Antics image (the kittys).
I just love this Whipper Snapper image! Doesn't this mouse just make you smile? (real ones DON't, but this little guy peeking over the mushroom does Ü)The sentiment on both cards is by SU! Mushrooms (as well as owls) are HOT right now. I remember painting owl and mushroom ceramics with grandma when I was in high school. I don't have a single one to show for it, but the memories are just as sweet.
Be sure to stop by the gallery to see what the other members created.

Happy Holly-days

Today is the day the CSAYL Divas post their Christmas cards for the week. We had an extra challenge added to the sketch again and this week it was to use eyelets. One of the things that I love about these challenges (besides having all these cards done in advance) is that I get to use up all these scraps! So far I have not cut into any new pieces of paper. I have a pizza box (new, not used, you can get them for 25 cents at Pizza Hut) filled with scraps. I also have a ziplock bag filled with stamped images from my friend Michelle or from image swaps I've been in. So I just pull out an image that works with the sketch challenge, find some paper and color the images to match the paper. I actually started with a different image this week, but it didn't work very well with this sketch, so I will be able to use it another week. Okay, onto the card...

I used various Basic Grey scraps, SU! metal and eyelets from LONG ago and a Whipper Snapper image that my friend Michelle sent me. The ribbon is some I got in a bargain bin for 25 cents. The glitter is Martha Stewart and it is VERY fine! I am now sparkling along with my card. The sentiment is computer generated and I used CK Huckleberry font.

Don't forget to stop by the other diva's blogs and see what they did with these challenges.

Dog with Bone

I am not a dog person, but I love these dog images by Whipper Snapper. I didn't add a sentiment to this, so that I can send it for any reason I may need in the future.

I used scraps from my stash again and that is a great feeling. These papers are from a line SU! no longer carries. I have a few pieces left and will be using them up instead of saving them (what DO I save them for?????).

Sparkle

It's hard to believe we are already on week 4! Maria posted a question on PaperCraft Planet and asked for members to vote for a theme for an extra component for us to add to our weekly Christmas card. Snowmen won, so along with this sketch we needed to add a snowman somewhere. What would I do without my dear friend Michelle? Once again, this image is because of her. But this time, she sent me the unmounted stamp! She is so fortunate to have stamp shows not only in her state, but within driving distance of where she lives!! I just wish we had them in NE!!
Anyway, I digress...the image is by Whipper Snapper. I love this little guy and will be using him alot. The paper is some that I won in a blog candy offer and I love it! I only received one 6 x 6 piece, but am glad I used it up and didn't hoard it any longer. The red came embossed with the snowflakes and the green (behind the image) was not embossed. The paper is Debbie Mumm. I don't know who the company is unless she has her own.
I cut the circle and the scallop with my Nestibilites dies and the oval with my George cartridge for my Cricut. I added Stickles on the snowman and sentiment for added bling. I love SU!'s tab punch and tried to make this look like an ornament. Eyelet is from Hobby Lobby and ribbon is from my vintage stash.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Did you notice my new header? I made 5 dozen cookies to take to school (the "guy" ones are white frosting with red and white sprinkles) and we didn't have school. So they are being eaten and I will make more Monday to take Tuesday. Anyway, I thought it would make a cute banner for February.

This is one of the cards we made last Saturday at my papercraft class. There were only 4 of us, but we had lots of fun.

This dog image is a Whipper Snapper one that my friend Michelle sent me. She is GREAT at sending fun images for me to play with. Ü The sentiment is from Lizzie Anne Designs "So Much Love" set.

I used scraps from my scrap pile to make this and colored it using the Gamsol and colored pencil technique.

Tired of Turtles?

Here is another turtle card I made yesterday. It was a beautiful day outside and springy colors were on my mind. The embossed background was one I had done at my crop. I thouht it went with the flower theme in the turtle's shell. The brown Prima flower is kind of bold, but there was brown in the turtle that I wanted to bring out. I still like it though. The layout is very simple, but fun.

Pink & Green Turtle

I love this turtle image! Sent by my new BFF Michelle Ü thanks Michelle!!). It only seemed right that she receive this card. Ü She also sent some standing turtle images that I need to play with today. The birds are chirping, the weather is gorgeous, I'm making cinnamon rolls, it's a good day! Ü

I used my new dots Cuttlebug embossing folder on several pieces of 1/2 sheets cs while at my crop. I love doing several at a time and then have them in a box when I need to whip up some cards! A friend I sat with had some embossing templates I didn't have, so I embossed several using hers. In fact I embossed SIXTY FIVE 1/4 sheets!!!! Now I am ready for some serious card making! Ü

Mojo Puppy Scrap pile card #4

Have I told you all how much I love this puppy? LOL!! For those of you who know I am NOT a dog person, you may wonder why, but this little guy is just toooo cute! I have two left to make into cards and then I will have to go on to something else (sad sigh).
This was made for Julee on Poetic Artistry's blog Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I love her sketch's and have never been able to get one done "on time". This looks so much better IRL. The colors are very rich and go together alot better than it looks here (really!)

February Dirty Dozen Challenge

I love doing these challenges with the past and present Dirty Dozen girls on SCS.

For my image, I used one designed by Anna Wight. I love Anna's work for Whipper Snapper! When I started out, this was going to be a card, but then remembered I had this burgundy frame, so went that route. Not much too it as I didn't know if punces were allowed (for photo corners), so didn't add any embellishments except for the ribbon. It seems like it needs more, so I may take it apart and add sewing and photo corners. But right now I had to get it posted as we need to leave pretty soon and I had library this morning.

Here was the criteria for this month's challenge:

Challenge Focus: Stamps Designed by Fellow Dirty Girls. -OR- alternate option - use any fellow Dirty Girl's galllery creation as an inspiration to semi-CASE something of your own (be sure to link it in your post). This image is from Dirty Girl Anna Wight for Whipper Snapper.

Required Element: Spring Color Combo - whatever feels like Spring to you! I am not a pastel person. Aaron is telling me this isn't spring since it has pumpkins in it, but green (new grass), orange, yellow and red (my tulips) and brown (chocolate Ü) all say spring to me.
Restricted Element: NO CuttleBug/Big Shot/Wizard or similar diecut/embossing machines. This isn't hard until you are told you CAN'T do it, then you want to. LOL!!

Scrap Pile Challenge cards

Here is a picture I took of a pile of scraps, odds and ends of a little of everything that I want to get rid of. So I am challenging myself to try and use as much of it up as possible. The next few cards I post this week will be what I have created from this pile. The only thing I am allowing myself to use are images that are already stamped that I have stamped myself or others have sent me (I have a ziploc bag full of these that I take with me to color when I know I am going to be "waiting"-like for appt's or mostly for Benjamin when picking him up from track practice), 1/4 sheets of cs already embossed (mostly from Cuttlebug), solid cs from my scrap box and white cs to make the card base. Oh, I am also letting myself use verse stamp sets too.

Here are two that I have done so far (plus I also made the sketch challenge card from my scrap pile). I absolutely LOVE this puppy! My Big Sis (from SCS) sent me a few images and I think I have one left! I also love these little pearl thingies too! They have adhesive on them, so all you have to do is stick them on. Makes for some really fun accents. This Bella gardener is another image RAK I rec'd (can't remember from who), but I have been having fun with the ones in my bag, coloring them and getting them put on cards! The strip pieces on both cards are what was left over from last weeks Techno sketch challenge.

"Moose Be Love"

Isn't this moose adorable? This is one of the images I rec'd in a pkg from my Big Sis. I colored it right away, but then couldn't figure out what to do with it. I finally finished it up last night. The glittery brad was also in a pkg she sent me. I have to be good and not hoard them! Ü

Recipe: Whipper Snapper
stamp: paper: patterned Berry Bliss, white, Pretty in Pink, Positively Pink (retired) all SU!
Ink: yep, you guessed it...Basic Brown Ü
Scallop punch-SU!, glitter brad-?
