Addresses...

So, Dean and I have decided that we are finally 'grown-up enough' to send out Christmas cards this year. I know- very exciting! But, I need a few more addresses. So! If you have moved in the last year, or if I just plain don't have your address- mind leaving me a comment? That would be awesome!! Thanks! And Merry Christmas!!!

A little behind the scenes shot... What taking pictures was really like... I love this picture!

Bridge Jumping

So. Here is the other Kayden/jumping story... Several times over the last few years we have driven into Twin Falls and seen the jumpers on the bridge. Several times Dean and I have talked about stopping to watch, but then decided against it for fear of the ideas we might put into Kayden's head. Well, last week - we stopped. Kayden has some what mellowed recently and we figured he could handle it. Here's how it went... in Kayden's words:

Wow! That is scary!
I am never doing this! (We assured him that it was something he NEVER needed to do)
What happens if their parachute doesn't work? (We pointed out the memorial at the bottom and again assured him that he NEVER needs to try this)
Then he watched 4 more go without saying anything.
Well, maybe when I'm bigger I could try.
Like after my mission.
Yup, I think after my mission I will try it. (At this point we decided it was time to go - Kayden kept watching though)
O.k. I am definitely going to do this after my mission.
(dragging him to the car)
I wish I had a parachute right now!

bad idea... bad bad idea... and now we have Darth Vader jumping off the fireplace mantle...
Dean and I were talking later that night about why he decided to try "after his mission". We think it's because we are always telling the boys that they can do things like drive, date, get a cell phone, leave our sight, "after their mission. So, naturally, bridge jumping will have to wait until then also... I think we need a new plan!

Halloween Pictures

Since my completely outdated and ancient cell phone will no longer take pictures, here are some for all the aunts & uncles and grandmas and grandpas who are feeling jipped that they didn't get a picture text this year! (Even though none of them will probably check this blog since I've been such a post slacker!)

Our Halloween was full of fun and candy as usual!

Harry Potter, Darth Vader, Lady Bug, & Friendly Witch

Here is Kayden trying to use the "force" to control a helium balloon. After this picture, he jumped off the mantel as high as he could and said, "That's the highest jump I've ever done! Good thing I had this costume on so I wouldn't get hurt!"

I have another Kayden jumping story I need to post, maybe tomorrow...

Lucky Hair Spot...

This is just one of those things that I need to hurry and write down before I forget it, so it might as well be on my neglected blog! Just now- Dean was giving the boys a nice, very much needed Sunday hair cut. We use the Flo-B at our house- works wonders! But to trim around the edges, we use the razor. It always gets a few giggles because it tickles around the ears.

Kayden started giggling and moving around.
Dean, " Hold still!"
Kayden, " I can't! It tickles!"
Dean, "Hold still or you are going to be bald!"
Kayden, " I can't! giggle, giggle, giggle"
Dean, "Kayden!"
Kayden, "Don't cut my lucky hair spot!"
Dean, "Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! You have a lucky hair spot?"
Kayden, "Yes! That's why it tickles!"
Dean, "O.k. - I'll do the other side...."
Kayden, "giggle giggle, stop! Don't cut my other lucky hair spot!"

Not sure how good those Sunday hair cuts are going to look....

The Good Kind of Busy...

Talking to a good friend the other day- I told her things were busy. She asked if it was the good or bad kind of busy. We are definitely enjoying the the good kind of busy right now! Maybe I will catch up on blogging when things slow down... But for now we are enjoying these last few weeks of summer busyness!

A few accomplishments... in May

Another better late than never post, but one that definitely needs to be posted!!! Kayden graduated from preschool (not that we were concerned he wouldn't... he is very smart, I guess we should be celebrating more that his preschool room and teacher survived a year of Kayden!)

Here he is with his amazing teacher, Mrs. Mortensen. We love her!

Mr. Cheese. I love his blue eyes and his dead tooth...

Another great accomplishment... Ryman's first piano recital! He has been taking lessons since February and is doing so great!! He loves it and we are again very lucky to have a wonderful teacher! I am so glad there are all these wonderful people out there willing to share their talents to benefit and teach others. They are amazing people!
