Smiles all around!
The Johnson's are a happy bunch.
We laugh.
We smile.

I take pictures of it all.
But in the 1000's of pictures I have taken, I can count on one hand the number I have of this man smiling.
However, he is smiling today.
It's because of her...
He loves her.

She makes him happy.

Up and at 'em
Dad is up and doing fabulous! He's walking all over the place and hoping to be headed home soon.
Mom is down and out! She's in the hospital roll-a-way bed, not moving. She has a terrible cold.
Craig and Carol just left. They watched over dad last night.Keep an eye on the blog concerning them... that's all I'm allowed to say.

8th Floor
Hi All, it's Krista here.
Dad has been moved to the 8th floor, otherwise known as the "Heart Floor". He has a fabulous view of the State Capitol out his big double windows. For that reason we're happy to be up here, not to mention the fact that the care is much better (sorry 3rd floor). There is also HEAT in this room!! In fact it is so comfortable that Mom is zonked right out.
The heart palpitations have subsided for the time being. But I've noticed that all the caregivers have inconspicuously slipped one of those dreaded shots in their pockets. Pray they don't have to pull them out.
He doesn't have any pain while in bed. However it is extremely uncomfortable when the therapist shows up. He's done his exercises, walked the hall and climbed the stairs. He's doing a great job but is exhausted!

Craig will be coming in to stay the night. I hope I can get mom out to the car... she is exhausted! Thank you for all your prayers. We love you all!

Dad wants to entertain the Docs and nurses again. An EKG is on the way, also the adensione is on it's way just in case.

Riding out another Palpitation
We're fine but dad likes to keep things lively in here. Now that they know they are normal we are just waiting and hoping this one will stop soon.
Made it through #2
Went good and dad is working hard, is now on crutches. This afternoon he will learn to climb the stairs. The blessing of a two story house.
As for the caregiver, the nurse is trying to warm me up, even after wearing a sweat shirt and heavy sweater. This cold room has got the best of me. It has given me a bad COLD and I feel miserable.Dad's in bed and I'm trying to recoup in the wheeled recliner.
The hospital branch came in and gave us the sacrament. It makes it feel a little more like Sunday. These days kind of just blur together.

Could it be? That's the latest report. He is in no pain and no pain pills all night!!!

Heart Pap
Guess dad had a palpitation from 3:30-5:00. All is well, and it wasn't a mad panic at just 177 but he got it under control and all is well.
Sawing Logs
It must have either been a good night or everyone is still tired from a restless night because it is quiet as a mouse in this room. Brady on the roll out and dad in the hospital bed, all seems well.
A special thanks to Dad's night time partners Brandon and Brady for making sure he is taken care of and to protect him through the night and to all of you for your visits, phone calls, prayers and every one's concerns for this man of ours. You have all been awesome and we send our love from room 344W.

He did it!!!
One hour of leg aching therapy....a brave patient!
He is now relaxing in a recliner and at the same
time stretching his leg.
More exercising in the morning.
Dad is dressed and wearing his Cancun shirt
to remind every one he got left home.
He's now settling in for and evening of UTAH
football and a dinner of hospital food. What
more can I say? Almost as good as a resort, hey?

What the HECK?
20 minutes of developing my 2nd blog, and with one wrong move of my finger, it vanished!
I don't think this blogging will be my thing!!!
So, instead of my wonderful picture, and my amazing comments (almost as good as Krista's)
I will leave you with this dull update.
The man took 10 baby steps, begged for pain pills, found relief, fell asleep, and awaits
the torture of his 1st big therapy session at 2:00.
Keep your fingers crossed, I think he's pretty scared!!

In Recovery
Dad is out of surgery and all went well. They were even able to repair his bowed leg. When he gets out of bed he'll feel like one leg is longer than the other but actually they will now be the same length.He opted for just a local anesthesia with a spinal block. That allowed him to wake up without pain. However now it's wearing off, which has earned him the magic "pain button". He's been pushing it alot :(
Keep him in your prayers and as you do pray that he can WARM UP. His temperature is a chilly 95 degrees. He's shaking like the dickens. Mom and I have surmised that it is because the epidural is wearing off (being women who've born children, we should know).
Thanks for all your support! (I think Mom has already given up blogging for herself that is why you're hearing from me. LOL)

I'm sitting here in LDS Hospital waiting for my awesome husband to have his knee replacement surgery. Seeing that he won't be able to get on his knees for awhile will you get on yours and pray for a speedy and complete recovery?
