Wonky stars

Stars in bright colors for a friend....

I think these "fit the bill".

It's summer

so that means being very aware of bushfires. We live surrounded by tall gum trees and lots of forest. We clean up and keep things sorted as much as we can, but today the Dept of Sustainability, or whatever their latest name is, did a burn off beside our house.

I took off for the day as the thought of smoke all day was too much.

The smoke is still lingering, and the neighbours who throw rubbish out their back fence have been revealed! When we moved in here it took about two years for us to get rid of the bottles, cement, car tyres, roof tiles and assorted other crap that the previous owners had "hidden" in the common land "out the back".

Though, I must say, after paying $20.00 at the rubbish tip yesterday to dispose of a trailer load of garden rubbish I can understand why people avoid taking rubbish to the tip. I wonder if they reduced the price whether more people would dispose of their rubbish properly.

Bendigo siggi's

Finally!!! I have found the golden box which contained the fabric for Southern Cross Quilters Bendigo Retreat siggi's.
I started making this quilt with great gusto a few years ago... but then.... I moved sewing rooms, had a tidy up and lost the pattern!
I have been searching for weeks, finally gave in and "Just did it".

This is my quilt so far....

and the siggi's will go on the back....

64 blocks needed in total - each block has 9 seams .... I am about half way there with the blocks....
I am pretty pleased with it so far ......
