Grandkiddies!

Just had a great visit in Pasco with Jason/Angie and girls. We had a blast. Went to see a 3D movie with the girls, as seen in the picture. Also celebrated early Christmas by letting the girls open their quilt gifts that I made them. They seemed to love them. I hope they will be special gifts for many years for each of them... Love them all!

A Beautiful Day in Oregon!

Oh, I love the fall weather, and this has been the perfect weather week. It was finished off with a great drive to Hood River today with the Mustang Group for our annual Fruit Loop Tour.

It was awesome....no greater place than the orchard country in October. I got to pick my pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, have a huckleberry milkshake, spend time with great friends, and all while driving my fun Mustang! It is a good day.

Fun Weekend

This past weekend we traveled to Spokane for the wedding of Aaron Fielder (nephew on the Dufault side). Since we had the time we decided to swing through Pasco and pick up granddaughter Shandra and have her to ourselves for the weekend. We stayed at sister Janet's for the time and had a great visit with her. We got to see great-nephew Cole and his Daddy Kevin....such a cutie! Shandra enjoyed an afternoon with us down at Riverfront Park and challenged Grandpa to a ride on the carousel...she beat him of course with collecting the most rings. We even took her on the gondola ride. Cool! Our time one-0n-one with her was very special....we love you Shandra!

Great Friends

No price can be put on "great friends". Living away from family causes people to seek friends to help fill the void, and we have done a good job in finding friends who are caring and have similar interests. This past Labor Day weekend we hosted 23 people for a "brisket barbque" bash, and the weather was wonderful. Of course they are fellow Mustang Wranglers so we have our favorite car in common.

Great Friends!

A Day at the Zoo with Anna

What a great weekend we had! Jenny and Anna and I went to the Portland Zoo. Anna LOVED it! She was very aware of the animals and wanted "more" of the sea lions swimming underwater. It was a great experience for baby, mama AND Grandma! Great memories......

Hafsos Family Reunion ~ July 2009

Following are the pictures from our weekend in Yakima with the Hafsos Clan! We had a great weekend...............

Hafsos Family Reunion~ July 2009

Families are wonderful, and we just got back from a wonderful Hafsos family reunion in Yakima. It is wonderful to see all the cousins and relatives together. It was a wonderfully planned weekend by the "next generation". These events can have a long lasting effect on the family unit and I hope our kids remember them for ever. We really loved that Jason and Jenny had their families there together, it happens very rarely. Some pictures to share of our weekend.

Gorgeous day at the Beach!

Sunshine, sandy beach, lawn chair, doesn't get any better. We took a drive to Cannon Beach/Manzanita area Sunday and just sat behind a sand dune and enjoyed the weather.

It was a great get away and first road trip in the new Mustang. Happy Summer!

Check out the new ride!

Well. This was a very untypical day for us. We left to go to the grocery store and came home with a new car!!! Can't believe it happened, but I love it! This will be a daily driver "Mustang" for me, so no more granny car for this Grandma....2007 Mustang (Red). V6 automatic. Great Sound system, too. If the kids are nice I may take them for a ride.

Yard Sale, Too much work!

Don't let anyone ever tell you a yard sale is easy... I remember years ago enjoying an occassional yard sale, but I have just had my last one.....a lot of work, for very little return. I would rather take the donation allowance on my tax return. I had a few things saved up for the sale, but had a lot of stuff from brother Mel and a girlfriend. We each made a little money, and the Salvation Army received a truck load donation. All Done! One unsaleable item was Mel's old lawnmower, it showed up here without even a handle, but Doug had one made by a buddy and now it is sitting at Mel's store ready to sell at top $$$$. The best part of the day was when our friends called and said they were bringing stuff for a barbque over for dinner. Yes, we had the enjoyment of friends, and didn't have to provide a thing....maybe a few dirty glasses and silverware....it was great. Now I have my spare bedroom back and Doug has his garage back, so from here on out it is charity for my "stuff".....

Hot Weather is Here!

Well, the dreamy days of summer have arrived it seems. High 80's, pretty nice stuff. Look closely at the picture...what is different? Doug is mowing with a PUSH mower..He has gotten rid of his power mower and is using this old style push mower. Since we have just a small patch of lawn he seems to want to downsize! I really don't have a preference since I haven't mowed the lawn in 20 years!!! We are enjoying the nice weather. Hope it lasts now......

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all your Mom's!!! It is a great joy to watch our children grow to be adults. It is also great fun to watch our Grandchildren grow up. I got to spend Saturday with Anna, Jenny and Dane. It was a lot of fun. Seeing Anna's new things she had learned. She loves the new pink ball Grandma brought her. She discovered the watering hose when Jenny was doing some yard work........FUN!!!

I have also finished quilt @2. It is a real sense of pride to complete the two. I do plan to take a break before I start @3 however.

A Quilting She Must Go!

I have rediscovered an old love...........sewing! In my recent "time off" I pulled out my good old Kenmore machine and began quilting. It has been many years since I have done more than mending, or small projects, etc. I decided to make quilts for the Granddaughters...I have had a blast! It is a good mind escape and the results are rewarding. Now that I am back working I will need to plan to meet my goal of completing 4 by Christmas......1 down 3 to go.

If you haven't tried it........give it a try....

Happy Birthday Doug!

We were lucky to spend Doug's big birthday with Jenny, Dane and Anna on Sunday in Olympia. The weather was gorgeous so we took Anna to the park. She is so sweet and fun to watch. Dane and Jenny cooked us some fabulous and yummy hamburgers for dinner. It doesn't get any better than that....thanks kids!

Tomorrow starts a new phase for me.....my first day on a new job. I've accepted a customer service position for a company "Consumer Cellular". We'll see how it goes, but I sure HATE first days.... Today's 83 degrees is only supposed to last one more day, then the cool weather returns...why can't we get a couple weeks of this~~~~~~

Another Day in Paradise!

These days at home are becoming filled with a lot of "busy stuff". I'm not sure how I will ever adjust when it is time to go back to work. It's been 10 weeks now that I've been off and really,
I'm just starting to relax. The job search efforts are extremely frustrating, so I need to realize this is pretty common for many others right now. I am one of the lucky ones since I am not desperate to work. Times are pretty scary right now and I don't see it easing up any time soon. I need to have faith that "it will happen" for me when the time is right...in the meantime I will continue doing my "busy stuff"and relax.

On the Road Again!

Just back from a great trip to Washington to see the family! My first two days were spent with Jason and his family. We had a wonderful time hanging out and celebrating an early birthday for Savannah's 2nd birthday! The kids were a blast! What great granddaughters....I love them dearly. I was surprised when I met the newest family member, Sady. The new puppy is a reincarnation of Jason's childhood dog "Peaches". Oh my gosh, I thought the past was following me...To any of you out there that remember Peaches, isn't it unbelievable how much they look alike? I also spent 3 days in Yakima with my sisters. Our trip was planned to end up in Spokane at Janet's house, but Mom ended up in the hospital with her fast heart beat, so we all stayed in town to be with her. We had a fantastic visit, but sorry to Janet who was going to get to play hostess to us all. Prayers with Mom as she goes through a pacemaker surgery later this week. Family is wonderful, and I just had the best week with all these great family members. Love to them all!!!

4 Generations

Not many families have the honor to recognize 4 generations living at one time. We DO have that distinction. Anna Grace, Jenny Marie, Diane Lyn, and Helen Fay... a strong line of women in the Hafsos Generation.... Also on the Dufault/Frasier side: Anna Grace, Jenny Marie, Douglas Joseph, and (Mary) Delora.

I DO Believe Spring will come!

It seems the groundhog saw his shadow, so it means winter is not over yet...however I believe SPRING will come soon. My tulip bulbs peaking up out of the ground are proof of that. 2009 is a new and dramatically changing year. I have left my job and will be looking for something else. Working should not "suck the life" out of you, so I guess I will begin looking for something that creates a better environment for me. Our citizens are all experiencing challenging times, us included, but I have to believe that I will find what I need to make our life work. I pray our government officials are able to make some decisions that bring relief to our country, but each person must also take responsibility to get back to the basics. I hope my children/family all keep their health and well being through these tough times.
