Fall Happenings

Lauren on her first day of "Grandma's School", a fun 2 hrs of play and snacks and little bit of learning with Grandma Chriss and cousins Maggie and Jerry

Lance's first day of pre school.

Dylan played soccer this fall and Aunt Shaina was his coach.  He was a little more intense than last  year.

Dane and Grandma Jack cheering Dylan on at soccer.

Preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch.  He has a great class this year.

Lauren, Dane, and I tagged along on the field trip and we got some cute pumpkin pictures.

Dane loved that I set him down in the dirt to play and check out the pumpkins.

Just had to add this bath time picture in of Dane.

We took some pictures a few weeks ago of the family and individuals of the kids.

It's nice when they reach the age where they will just smile and stand still because you ask them to, not because you're standing behind the camera bribing them with all kinds of things!

I'll post the other kids' shots next.  When you procrastinate posting for several months it takes a few different sittings to get caught up!

Back to School

Sighhhhh...another school year comes again.  Hard to believe in some ways.  I try to not let myself get too nostalgic or it becomes depressing and what's the good in that?  Still, I can remember posing myself for first day of school pictures in front of my house, and it doesn't seem like so long ago.

Dylan has Mr. Buster for first grade this year.  His reading teacher is Ms. Albertson.
He's not sure if first grade can ever measure up to kindergarten but he's willing to give it a try.
Kate has Mrs. Horrocks for 2nd grade.  Her favorite part about her outfit-- the shoes.

Tyler has Ms. Hill for fourth grade.  He knows the drill, football at recess is really where it's at.

And then there's Lance.  One more year until his elementary school debut.  He's pretty pumped about preschool this year though.  For better or worse, this will be his second year and Mrs. Katie knows what she's in for!

Lauren rounds out the lively school-going bunch.  She is eagerly anticipating "grandma's school" where she will join her 2 other cousins, Maggie and Jerry, also under the age of 3 (yikes!) for a fun morning of play, snacks, a little learning, and more snacks, one day a week at grandma Chriss' house.

Happy Birthday America!

We celebrate the 4th with lots of friends and family at the pond below Derek's parents' house.  They barbecue and the kids swim.  This year to add to the fun they rented a blow-up slide and a soft serve ice cream machine.  The weather was perfect and we had a great time.  Derek's dad likes to do the fireworks and every year it gets a little better.  I don't know how he'll top this year's show, it was pretty amazing.

Easter

Waiting for the hunt to begin at Grandma's house...

Once Lauren discovered what was in the eggs she wanted to sit down right then and enjoy them!!

Yes, that is Tyler in a full sprint...he's a little competitive:)

The beautiful view we get to enjoy here on the farm.

She's a winner!

Even the menfolk can't help but get in on the hunt.

Clamoring for the last easter egg.  Uncle Greg is enjoying watching the competition.

Once it was all said and done everyone was feeling pretty good about their winnings.

The man of the house, at least once Dad has left for  church meetings!

My handsome boys.  They look so happy together (don't be deceived!).

A quick picture of my little gang right before church.  It's pictures like these I will look back on in 20 years and wonder what happened to my kids and how did they grow-up so fast...
