I've been so lazy this CNY.. not at all filial =P
In any case, it's not my fault.. CNY this year was pretty toned down.
My dad's side didn't even celebrate cus my grandfather passed away recently.. and we totally skipped the New Year dinner on my mum's side =P
But somehow we still got our hong baos even though we didn't go (wow they have such faith in my mum ^^)
Had reunion dinner at home.. An interesting change of pace but Mum managed to make it tasty despite last minute ingredient shopping =P
Tuesday, we went to my paternal grandmother's house for a visit even though no one was celebrating.. My grandma was very amused to see how much my brother changed since she last saw him ^^
On Thursday, I went all the way to Tampines (don't ask me why I agreed) with Bryine to Temasek Poly where I met up with Saran. I was given a short and very *ehem* informative tour and we had lunch. We were supposed to play Need For Speed but my com, being the uncooperative piece of junk it is, refused to let me load it.. SO I ended up playing badminton in a skirt! (again don't ask me why I agreed) and I taught Saran and Bryine how to play table tennis! Boy... Saran was going crazy playing against me hahaha.. He's such a small kid sometimes ^^ Gee joined us for a little while and then we all went to the library where I managed to catch a few episodes of Clannad.. The whole day we managed to bump into just about EVERYBODY whom they knew and who knew them and I got the same interesting look from each of them =P Ohwells..
After that I had to rush back to Orchard for dinner with my god-grandparents at Hard Rock Cafe. It seems that I have turned the appropriate age for the do-you-have-a-boyfriend type of questions ^^ I was wondering what I'd start getting that from my relatives...
I wasn't really expecting any hong bao this year but surprisingly I got quite a comfy sum this year..
I came home to find that my parents had bought my brother a black rayskin katana!! I opened my front door and it was sitting right infront of me! It really looks so good!! My gosh I'm so jealous of him!!!!!!!
On Friday something interesting happened.. I had a fight with my Manager! Yeah even I'm shocked as to how it happened but anyway how it started was that I came back to work to find that my hours had been cut by a lot while others managed to get a lot... I smsed and asked her for more hours and I was trying to emphasize that I'm not asking for frivolous reasons. Then surprisingly she smsed back and accused me of:
1. Not wanting to throw the trash
2. Not wanting to do washing
3. Not wanting to do the OFS orders alone.
She said that I should correct my attitude so that I would be more deserving of the hours I'm asking for. The thing is, what she accused me off couldn't be further from the truth and the fact that she accused me without bothering to find out if her impression of what I was doing was true really infuriated me!
So I smsed back and told her point blank that:
1. I don't throw trash by myself because I can't reach over the wall of the chute, but I DO pack the trash so that the guys can help me throw it to which they can testify!
2. I do ALOT of washing and just because she isn't there to see it doesn't mean I don't do it! I even stayed back to help my supervisor clear the large pile of washing in the back after a big lunch rush to which she can also testify! The only time I said anything was when my co-worker told me to serve in the front while she would do the chores behind but still left me all the washing to do even though it was her job.
3. I have been doing the OFS orders in the morning since the time Serena was the Manager and that was what, 2 years ago? I've been doing this and I can even do it with my eyes closed, so my attitude toward this is not the same as some trainee trying to skive on duty. I am fully prepared to do it all but if there is someone to help with the packing then I am very appreciative for the help. So if asking her help to do the packing is construed as my reluctance to do the orders by myself, God help us we should NEVER ask her to lay a finger on anything!
So surprise surprise, having refuted all her accusations, she turns to the lamest possible demand which is that I should come earlier for work which is expected of everyone! So having nothing left to work on she has no choice but to take back what she accused me off..
Then she showed up at the store unexpectedly and it was to my credit that I remained civil. Eventually both of us made polite conversation but the peace between us is precarious..
From what my co-workers tell me, her style of management could do with a whole lot of improvement and that she is inexperienced in this field. Sometimes I think she acts more like a mum then a manager.. -eyeroll-
In any case, today I had work in the morning and tkd right after that.. I'm so gosh darn tired >.<

Yay Happy B'day Kenwei!! today was his b'day dinner with us but I'll get to that later.. :P
Mum's taken a whole chunk of leave so she's been home since the 22nd. We went to watch Inkheart on Thursday which was a completely different story line then what I'd expected..
*SPOILER*
I expected that he's gone into the world of Inkheart and had the adventure there but instead it was all about calling out the characters which meant his involvement was really very peripheral and minor.. The story was told in a rather disjointed way which I guess was the result of trying to concise the story too much.. Not a very good fantasy movie I'd say since most of it takes place in the real world anyway..

In any case the guys booked out on the 23rd!! Ernest called me regarding Kenwei's b'day present and when I picked up the phone I heard this strange deeper voice o.0
For a moment I thought maybe one of his friends had gotten their hands on his phone and used it to prank call me but and even when I realized it was Ernest I was still like -blink blink- haha! I mean I know all of their voices would get raspy and hoarse but I wasn't really prepared for it... In any case I was rushing to get the present since I completely forgot about it (even though I was helping to plan the dinner >.< how stupid is that?) so eventually we decided to give him an ang bao (a first for me!!)
Met Lynn, Ernest and Kenwei today after work at PS. Waited for Karyen to arrive so there were camp stories flying left right and centre.. I didn't know we're not supposed to say anything but suffice to say that most of it is pretty hilarious except for a few gross parts >.< Went over to Concorde for pool and then headed back to PS for dinner @ Swensens.. Lynn will probably put up the pics we took and there will be one in particular that we did just for fun!! Nothing was going on there! haha
I think today I didn't stop smiling or laughing.. It was really so good to see the guys again.. Reminds me of how much I miss them..

On Friday I tried Botak Jones and air hockey for the first time..
Verdict: Botak Jones isn't much to shout about (and if I wanted steak I'd eat it at home ^^) I already found the radio advertisement super irritating.. The guy's drawl is just too much >.<
Air Hockey is super fun!!! (and it's undeniable that a 7-2 score is good for a first timer XD)
Not much to blog about these days. Since moving back to Subway OH my hours have been pretty regular.. Basically morning to lunch shift. For some reason it's been crazy busy in OH and our sales are beginning to rival even Lido's o.0 Maybe the lunch crowds are following me as I switch stores! HAHAHAHAHA ok that was random..
In any case, I really really really really hope that the holiday this year is finally gonna be possible.. I really miss London.. and perhaps Alton towers too but more of London!!! I need to make a visit to Past Times again!! >.<
Right now some of the things I'm trawling ebay for (wishful thinking) are:
Paua shell.. (since mine have to be returned to the school >.<)
Celtic motif ring.. (so hard to find a nice one!!)
Charms.. This one is tricky to find cus all of them have to be roughly the same size.. I'm looking for a silver four leaf clover, an x'mas themed charm, a little doggie, a UK themed charm and a cross just for starters.. can't think of much else to fill my charm bracelet but I bet I'll think of something..
Tmr is pool with Gee,Bryine and Saran!! Grace might tag along ^^ that will be interesting XD

Ok BESIDES work, some stuff has happened this week ^^
Firstly, HAPPY 20th CHI!!!
My darling ex-rommie finally hit adulthood! (sort of haha) Wish you a blessed b'day and lots of love *muacks!*
gosh this means I'm going to be 20 soon... *eeps*
Had the last outing with the guys before they enlisted..
Met up with Ernest, Lynn and Kenwei at school for a short visit before we headed over to Vivo for lunch. I had to buy everyone lunch cus I was late to meet up with them =P I figured since it was the "last" time we'd all be out I'll be a good sport haha. We joined Eugene in Vivo and wandered around till we settled on "The Mussel Guys" for a pasta lunch. The whole time the conversation consisted of "my biceps, your biceps and our biceps!" and "why do my muscles go flaccid after a day of working out?" hahahah typical *eyeroll* After lunch, it was to Sentosa! Eugene, Lynn and I went to the Southernmost Point of Asia where the view (of the cargo ships) is pretty fantastic.. We went luging (second time for me!!!) where Lynn lost her slipper! hahaha I guess she was too excited
When we got back to the beach, we found Kenwei digging a hole and that started the whole playing-with-sand thing.. we covered Karyen in a fake sand body and then dug a bigger hole to fit her entirely! In the end she really couldn't even get out =P We should have left her and come back after dinner hahaha
Then we all went cycling from one point of Sentosa to another to take pictures at the Merlion and at the Siloso sculpture..
When we got back to Vivo, we met up with Kenwei's cousins and Jono and Lip Tong for dinner at Akashi.. Then dessert at Thai Express!! I really love the fritters and coconut ice cream =P
In any case, I finally met Saran and Gee, Bryine's roommates on friday before tkd class.. They are really a fun lot when I can understand them ^^
Went to watch Yes Man (which is way sick and slightly funny haha) I didn't realise the female lead was Zooey Deschanel =P and she has such a close resemblance to Katy Perry... but I guess I'm not the first to notice that..
Had tkd grading this Sunday.. The thing I hate about the grading times is that they are never fixed.. I arrived at the time my coach told me to and ended up being one of the latecomers for my belt >.< Sheesh!
Monday was my last day of attachement to Lido. It was a good two weeks I'll admit.. I got plenty of hours and hunger pangs from eating so late after the lunch rush. Good thing was that beside us was Pasta Mania and Bubble Tea! =P Now that I'm back in OH I miss my bubble tea =(
I'm still wondering if I should transfer.. Apparently I'm in high demand on either side since I can do the morning shift..
Met Bryine and Co. for pool and dinner after that.. The number of stares I got from people on the street was incredible haha.. it must have looked really odd for me to be walking with them XD but I'm glad I'm fitting in nicely.. Guess this is what happens when you have a large group of guy friends in school to begin with.. All the guy talk is normal for me now ^^
Bryine reminds me of Jacob and in a more complete way then he'd like to admit..
Daniel's back in town.. AGAIN.. and he wants to meet up.. tsk... I don't really feel like it but something tells me that I should.. How? Should or shouldn't I?
I know what BB would say "Go For It!" if he saw this haha

Saturday was spent wandering around Bugis with Gen before our respective classes.. I haven't seen her the whole hols! Nice haircut ^^ Anyway bought a couple of clothes and some accessorises.. I'm hate the fact that there never seems to be a coffee bean around.. I don't really like Starbucks that much >.<
On Sunday I played pool with Bryine and Jordan!
Bryine's never played before so both of us were teaching him how to play. I think either he's lying about never playing before or he's just a really fast learner (or we're really good teachers ^^) but he managed to beat me twice!! Unheard off! =O And he breaks pretty well too..
Now it seems he's all crazy about pool hahaha
Today I did opening at Lido again.. Stupid delivery at OH was so late that I even had time to go to the bank and help Joy with the OH docket counting while waiting for it to arrive. Just so happened that it was onions I was waiting for, which means that I didn't have time to soak them in cold water and they were more lethal (to my eyes) >.<
In any case, we've switched to pre-cut shredded lettuce! YAY!! We don't have to slog at the slicer cutting darn lettuce.. and my job is a whole lot easier in the mornings..
I have to make a decision whether or not I will permanantly transfer to Subway Lido... I really don't want to leave OH but they can't give me enough hours there anymore.. =(
Really need help with this decision...

I spent today really happy.. I woke up telling myself that nothing should spoil my good mood....
And for some reason, one bad thing after another started happening. There was some really bad juju this morning..
Spent 12-8 working.. Surprisingly there wasn't much of a crowd today.. Towards the end of the day it got pretty funny because I was serving this guy who wouldn't stop smiling every time he looked at us haha.. even Cai Ying and I looked at each other wondering what was wrong with him.. His smile was kinda infectious though and by the time he was making payment I couldn't stop laughing..
Met Bryine after work so he could pass me my money and the ice cream he owes me ^^ We ended up visiting quite a few places including Hagen Daz before we settled on Dairy Queen.. Sat around and talked mostly then headed over to taka and along the way we saw G2000 had a sale!! Lol so we ended up trying to find shirts for him.. I mean they're like $29 and $49 for the ones with cuff links! Way affordable!! So yeah.. did a bit of window shopping with him before I had to head off for dinner..
Met Kevin for dinner at Shimbashi Soba.. =P yummy.. I think all the army guys must be looking newly buff after training ^^ In any case apparently they serve so much chicken and in such large portions in army he's now sick of it.. and the water is over chlorinated and tastes muddy >.< and everyone has the "tekong" cough =S
Gosh it all sounds really bad.. Heard all about it over dinner, I think we ended up sitting for over 2 hours just chatting and eating.. He took such a looooong time savouring his food haha.. I can't blame him.. I'd probably want to make my meals out of army last as long as possible ^^
After dinner, we walked to Heeren so I could check out our Heeren store. It's at the basement and it's such a large store! I can see why it's been a bad investment lately..
Headed for drinks at coffee bean and I tried Chai for the first time.. I'm not a cinnamon fan but ohwells.. Chai tastes ok I guess...
At least the second half of my day went pretty well.. Good first day don't you think? ;)

Jan 1st 2009!
And the official end of my 2 years..
Wow has it been that long already? Spent the last few minutes counting down with BB ^^
Looking back.. it's been a tough 2 years really.. I'm just glad I had BB through it all to help me through it in more ways then one =)
Watch out world.. Here I come!!
