Been down with fever the last couple of days.. Started a few days before X'mas and then it got really bad sometime after.. Finally my dad had to drag me to see the doctor and I had to get some blood tests done because the doctor wants to rule out chikungunya. Even had to take MC from work (which I've never done before) and have been spending the last few days resting at home.
So been basically eating porridge and sleeping a lot and trying to catch up on more reading.. It's hard to read when I keep dozing off every 5 mins.. stupid meds.. can't even keep my eyes focused..

That aside, I've been attached to Subway Lido for 2 weeks.. Our new manager Joy has just taken over and Michael is going to be working again.. I just hope its not long before he gets his first warning letter..
Working at Lido is so weird.. Firstly, the space is so much smaller and my sense of direction is wonky and the veggies aren't always the best.. =S but the good thing is that we don't have to clear any dining area and there is hardly any trash to throw ^^
Plus there's a bubble tea shop next door! haha

In any case, I'm so grateful for Bryine cus he's been helping me cover my shift at work at such last minute's notice since I've been sick.. I guess its good for him too the extra hours and all..

Gen wants me to go watch Twilight.. =S eeyer... should I? I've already seen it online and I don't like it very much.. I wonder if it'll be any better in a higher quality..

Christmas was interesting this year.. I think this year marks the beginning of the separation between me and my younger cousins.. This year I sat with my Mum and my other relatives and we watched the little ones play with their toys.. I guess I had to grow up sooner or later.. I got bombarded with questions about school and what I'm going to be doing next and everyone was really surprised how I could be 19 so quickly.. Ah well time flies when you're not paying attention..

I can't believe there's only 3 days more till Dec 31st!! Wheee!!!

I'm not too sure if I should switch tkd classes..
The new class is closer to my house but it's really late in the evening.. I mean by the time 7:30 pm comes around, who wants to leave the house? >.<

Nothing much been happening so far except work and Lynn's chalet birthday celebration on the 16th.. Had work until sometime in the evening so I could only make it after 7 ( I was NOT LATE >.< I'm not THAT tardy =P ) Had a bit to eat then settled down to watch Karyen, Ernest, Kenwei and Eugene play mahjong.. Ernest ended up teaching me to play, after which I took over his place.. not counting in the cake cutting, we ended up playing for close to 5 hours! All of us were just so sure we'd win the next game! Stayed till sometime around 12 then I got a lift from Ernest's parents.. Random note: Did I mention I love roasting marshmellows with potato chips? XD

Lately I've been renting books from a secondhand bookstore.. Among the titles, I also managed to rent Twilight which I normally would never have read/bought. Personally I don't relate much to the story because I find it just a little too angsty but I do like the way she writes.. It's quite real and funny at times and so I'm gonna finish the series just for the heck of it.. I swear I'm gonna go broke this hols just renting books >.< Somehow even with work and all, I manage to finish one book a day, regardless of its length.. I think this holiday I just might make up for the last 4 years of not reading XD
I mananged to catch Twilight online and I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with the adaptation.. They lost quite ALOT of things in the transition from book to film.. sigh will there EVER be a movie that does justice to the book???? I think LOTR was good but even then, it wasn't a very faithful adaptation either.. Ohwell I'm going to stick to my imagination..

Lots of drama going on at work.. not there isn't usually drama but this time it's a heck of a lot more serious.. For one Michael has been an ever constant pain in the a** and just when he finally resigned, Alson gets terminated (the cause of which is yet to be disclosed but I have a pretty good idea why..) So we're gonna get ANOTHER new manager named Joy.. (oh joy.. PUN INTENDED..) and to top it all off, Greg has decided to make our lives difficult by visiting the store 3 times this week and imposed this new rule that cuts the part timer's hours and increasing the full timer's hours which cuts costs for them as the full timers work on a fixed salary.. The situation with the hours has always been dicey but never this bad before..
They're opening a new store in Heeren.. which is just across the road from Cine o.0 (I mean isn't that just redundant??) and opening a new restaurant which seems to be sucking up more money then anticipated >.<
I think I might just juggle two jobs if this whole thing gets really crappy..

On a lighter note, the other day a customer gave me a $10 tip which is practically unheard of! I mean because firstly, people don't usually tip and secondly even if they do it's usually "keep the change" but this time after the bill was paid, I was given a whole $10 as a tip! ^^ Sadly I didn't get to keep it =( It's so unfair that it goes into the till instead of going to me! That makes the third time this week a customer has complimented me! I wish they'd give a formal compliment instead of just verbal ones.. I might actually get a bonus or something =P

Post convocation has been really slow.. It's only been 10 days but it feels like ages since I graduated..

2nd Dec:
I started work again.. I found out that Alson didn't give me a single hour the next week! I think that the company is really going too far this time.. I mean some of the other part timers only got 8 hours in ONE WEEK! That's the kind of hours you get in one day! How are they supposed to pay their school fees?? They even cut down the number of store hours, which means outlets like the one in Cine close much earlier now..
I think they're really pushing all of us to the limit this time.. I can imagine if the whole lot of us quit at the same time.. that might really make them realise that they can't get away with this.. I think I'll just hold another job on the side if this situation continues..
My outlet doesn't seem to have changed much.. The first day back and I get hit on twice in the first 2 hours of work..
I really... and I mean REALLY like the look on these guys faces when they realise how old I am.. its usually like the bomb I drop when I really need them to go away..

Of the 2 new promotions.. the seafood is not exactly exciting and the tandoori is downright awful.. well in my opinion at least.. tastes nothing like the tandoori I know of.. the seafood is basically crab stick meat and mayo, so if you like that sort of thing then knock yourself out ^^ I will personally stick to my beloved roast beef haha

3rd Dec:
Met Kevin for lunch.. We went to this place called Uluru Aussie Bar and Steakhouse which really is quite ulu ^^ The set lunch for $15 is a pretty good deal actually but the dessert is overpriced in my opinion.. the place had this really funky Christmas decoration.. it looked like this really fantastic winding tree trunk with all sorts of pretty ornaments hanging off it.. I'll post the pictures some time..

After lunch we headed to Marina Square for a pool match.. I haven't actually played there since the first time I learnt to play! I was actually quite unfamiliar with the size and type of table so I lost quite a bit.. =( I'm not usually that lousy!! haha
After pool we watch Madagascar 2 which was actually a little funnier then I expected ^^ I kinda thought the soundtrack sounded familiar only to discover it was by Hans Zimmer -.-" I should have known..
Had a drink at Starbucks before we headed home.. apparently he and I live on opp ends of the same bus line.. wow I never knew.. We met Yam somewhere along they way but I got off pretty soon after that so didn't really get a chance to chat..

4th Dec:
Returned the convocation gown to Mdm Choo.. Her house is seriously in the middle of nowhere! I had to ask the cab driver to wait so that I could take the same cab out of the winding maze of houses..
I was supposed to meet Lynn, Kenwei, Ernest at PS for lunch and amusingly enough they had all made a bet as to HOW LATE I'd be.. ^^" Ok ok I get it already.. punctuality isn't one of my strong points XD
Jonwei was apparently tagging along and Mikel joined us after lunch..

I think I really need work at Para Para and DDR.. I remember Kenwei used to be really good at it some time in Yr 3.. Luckily he was able to keep me alive haha! Lynn was just really reluctant to try the games ( real monkey la ^^ )
We pooled for like 3 hours straight.. that was fun ^^ I think the table really makes the difference in how well I can play.. hmm
Probably gonna be the last time we all see Mikel before he enlists on the 12th..

7th Dec:
After church my brother and I had lunch as Sakae Sushi.. Something really awful happened while I was eating sashimi.. The gel pack that they freeze and put under the sashimi had broken so when I was eating the last piece, I noticed the gel had leaked out of the pack >.<
I was really so grossed out but I don't think I touched it while I was eating and the manager took it off our bill so I guess it turned out ok in the end..

Then while we were heading to Wisma, I was stopped along the way by this woman who handed me her card and asked me if I was interested in becoming a model.. At first I didn't understand what she wanted because I assumed she was selling or promoting something but then she gave me her card and when she started to talk more slowly and asked me for my contacts only then did I realise what was going on >.< But I decided to decline anyway so ohwell..

We got tickets to the Nutcracker ballet for christmas! <3 It's been a while since we went for a ballet ^^

Been bumming around on lately.. finally applied to NUS and I managed to mail out my documents today.. I got my early X'mas present! <3 Some of you might be seeing it soon haha

Convocation- Class of 2008!

Convocation! We're finally graduating!!
Already pinned my gown for the photoshoot the day before so I just had to throw on my gown on the day itself.. Spent the time before the photo taking session just walking around and taking pics with my family

I kinda wish Mr Tham was around to see us graduate though..
I'll miss the campus most of all considering it's been my home for the last 3 years...
I'm gonna miss my abalone! hahaha
I'm going to miss not having to worry about what to wear to school!
I'm going to miss that stupid little drain near the teacher's room that becomes a fountain every time it rains..
I'm going to miss knowing who to hate and who to like =P
I'm going to miss the chicken rice stall! I'm going to miss those times we spend cooped up in our hostel rooms studying for exams...
I'm going to miss moving from class to class and I'm going to miss not paying attention in class when it gets real boring (oops =P )
I'm going to miss writing stupid messages on each others notes and gossiping about our classmates at lunchtime ^^
I'm going to miss the teachers (some at least) and I'm going to miss the pioneer batch of students even though I may not have gotten to know some of you really well.. (haha but you can't say I didn't try in Year 3 XP)
