Last Sunday was Tkd grading for me.. The venue is Paya Lebar CC at Kovan MRT but I have no idea what I was thinking and I ended up at Paya Lebar MRT looking for Kovan CC! LOL! I was very nearly screwed because the timing for the grading of my belt level was going to pass pretty soon so I had to rush their in a cab... what a waste! Thankfully I got there in time to join the last group..

Today's English exam was really weird.. basically its a mock job interview since the entire module is based around preparing us for the working world. So for the exam we had to respond to an actual advertisement and our examiner would interview us posing as someone from the company we applied to.. So I went in there expecting to be asked more about why the "company should hire me" kinda questions, or "what makes me so different from other applicants" but the moment I sat down he was asking nothing but technical questions ranging from names of new materials, to the current state of the market locally and overseas and and what my vision for the future of the market would be.. Thankfully hanging around the people in my office allows me to be part of these exact kinds of conversations so it wasn't too difficult to answer.. but I had a bit of trouble collecting my thoughts so hopefully it wasn't too much of a problem.
I even brought a sample of my portfolio because it was required in the advertisement but while he was looking through it he started asking me about pictures of the Year 6's! So I was really confused as to whether he was asking me as a teacher or as an interviewer! Haha..

In any case, Roy and Mikel were playing a fool while I was in the interview room.. They sat outside the glass panel and were doing funny stuff so much so that I got a little distracted.. >.<"" gah!

Anyway Saturday went out with Gen for my birthday present which was the phone wrap and dinner at Shimbashi Soba! =P This week I've been eating so much good food!!!

Thankfully I had tkd that afternoon so I hopefully burned off a little bit before that..

Sunday SOMEONE came back to church!! And I finally decided to be my normal self and I spoke to him for the first time!! muhahahaha I can't believe it's been like what, 8 years now??? I guess now I just decided I have to behave like how I always do and look him straight in the eye! I suppose what age you first get to know someone really influences your interaction with them.. I mean I always feel like I'm 11! Yikes.. At least now I'm able to categorize which section he's in..

This week our director had to be away from the office for external meetings.. Now I realize why the office is so much more relaxed! No sound of maniacal laughter anywhere ^^

I finished the model finally.. It was impossible to finish because they kept changing the plans and the type of model they wanted me to do so basically I also have another 2 half done model that I had to stop doing because they changed their minds.. *eyeroll*

After looking at the model, we realized that the floor plans on each level don't match up, so W.K had me re sketch out the plans for the 5 floors and make the necessary changes..

I also made a little model of my own!! I really love the trees and the fence! <3

19!!!!

Firstly, wanna thank all those who wished me Happy B'day Adi, Chi, Hieu, Chew le(surprise! ^^), Karyen, Mikel, Jim u darling girl!, Tasmia, Joshua, Brenda, Justin, Margy, Tiffany, Cris, Niccy and Sharon, Lynn, Ernest, Eugenie, Bryine(for the simply adorable b'day card =D) and Kevin and the people who wished me in school and online!

AND!! I wanna thank the people who bought me the iPod Nano!!!!!!! =O I'm really really touched you guys ^^ I would thank all of you but I still don't know who the group of ppl are!! So when I do know I'm gonna give everyone a hug!!! =D THANK YOU!!! <3

And everyone was so quiet about it!! I seriously had no clue.. Even some of the people I never expected chipped in!! So I'm really quite shocked! =D

My birthday celebration is being stretched out over the week, so on Tuesday I had a game of crazy pool and ice cream with Adi! Was supposed to be dinner but then well Pizza Pazza only has one delivery van!!! So whatever.. haha toward the end we were just forgot about the rules and just went crazy haha

On Wednesday, it was a pretty normal morning.. I had IR with Eugenie so I headed down to the lab and did the usual stuff.. then Lynn and Ernest joined us to wait for us to finish for lunch.. After we stored all our stuff, I came back down to the lab and everyone was just smiling and smiling and I was seriously wondering why everyone had this really cheeky look on their face.. then on the way to lunch they gave me my present!! I was really speechless because I didn't expect everyone to group together to get me this one COOL THING!! AHHHH!!! haha forgive me.. I'm really still quite euphoric XD

And everyone told me someone went to buy it for me first.. so hugs and kisses to that person! =D

After lunch, we went for Island Creamery!! Ernest and Eugenie couldn't make it though =(

On Thursday, my parents bought Caviar!! And my dad (the expert!) did it exactly they way the serve it in First Class.. so yummy!!!! =P

Friday, my whole family went out to Long Beach @ Dempsey Road to celebrate my brother's and my birthday.. We had shark's fin, black pepper crab, Chilli Crab!!, these really large butter prawns and a whole lot of other yummy goodness XD


Quickly took this before the other dishes came and I couldn't use my fingers ^^

Tomorrow I'm finally going back for tkd, then I'm meeting Gen for more celebrations!

On Friday, I had to continue with the model..

Sitting at the work table really gives me the opportunity to observe a lot of the office drama especially since its next to the director's office.. It's especially active when everyone needs to update him on certain design revisions or planning processes because of his method of critiquing.. The whole day he went around looking for updates from everyone and nearly everybody got an earful about something or other..

During lunch W.K said that the hardest thing about the job is surprisingly not the design process but dealing with bosses and clients.. I'm guessing the whole discussion was prompted by the drama that morning and sitting at the work table across from W.K and the director while he was showing him the Scape plans, I really felt sorry for him.. Everyone around the table at lunch today agreed that although team leaders do need to set expectations and push the architects to produce fantastic work, there would be a GREAT difference in how they'd interact with our director and the other more gentle team leader..
I already anticipated that dealing with clients would definitely be a challenge but after this I'm beginning to wonder how I'd deal with a design team leader if I were an architect..

In any case, this is what my model looks like so far ^^ My fingers are full of glue =P




However, toward the end of the day, I was cutting up material and the penknife I was holding slipped and cut across my finger and into my palm.. It was really horrific I tell you but I tried to make light of it while my colleagues ran around trying to find bandage ^^

Anyway since Saturday was both our last days, Bryine bought me coffee after work! He waited because of that stalker guy from the other day.. so nice ^^ I have a bodyguard! =P thanks man...

2 years really seems to have flown by..
Sometimes even though I complain about how it has been so tough, I think it's actually been easy.. For 2 years I've had an uncomplicated life and "cold turkey" really is nothing because it's so straightforward to deal with...
But right now I'm on a runaway train that's on a track heading toward an end and I have to decide if I wanna jump or be prepared to stay on board and take the plunge..
2 years was for a reason.. it was for a change and yet I'm afraid that I'm just going to regress back to my old standards.. I mean everything about it just doesn't fit.. it just doesn't.. so many things about it I always told myself I would sign off without a moment's hesitation but here I am, struggling to make a decision...

Went to watch the Journey to the Centre of the Earth after the Teacher's Day celebrations with Kenwei,Chermaine,Lynn,Ernest and Gen.. I never did have any intention of catching that show, but it surprised me a little because it turned out to be pretty ok for a movie with Brendan Fraser.. =P

Anyway my Sept hols have been packed.. I've been working almost everyday and trying to do the hol homework too. After internship, I really missed working.. The environment is really very different and much more enjoyable and I move around a lot more.. My store reshuffled managers again and my new manager is a little better then the last but is damn vulgar.. After a while you just learn to tune out all the vulgarities and he's a pretty good supervisor..
I suddenly realised how long I've worked there when I see one of my regular customers graduate from buying for one.. to buying for 2! Haha soon he might be buying for 3 ;)
Thankfully I've managed to keep a low profile since I got back so no creeps so far.. although the other day as I left work to go home, the guy from the restaurant next door followed me out of the building and started tailing me and asking me questions.. That was really kinda creepy because he usually comes around the store for small stuff like change and newspapers when I'm around but this takes the cake!! Gah..

The other day, since the guys got new phones we started taking pics during work haha! I don't want to know what Greg the boss will say if he checks the CCTV cameras ^^

Oh and up till now I've always known the boss lives near my house but yesterday I found out he lives in the building OPPOSITE mine!! My gosh! and all this time just across the road.. I wonder why in all my time staying here, I've never once seen him before..

Today for internship W.K took me off redesigning the front steps of Scape because they are going to revamp a lot more for the YOG, so instead I need to construct the updated model of the entire revised Scape building... this is so cool ^^ Did I mention I love building models? The two things I'm always fascinated by in building models are the swimming pools and the foliage ^^ those take quite a bit of time to do.. =P
