Ok anyway today's exam went quite well I think.. must be all the luck I got from someone.. ^^ I'm not keeping my hopes too high in the event that it actually didn't turn out as well as I thought... Quite a number of people were missing today.. apparently decided to take MCs and skip school.. unbelievable..

Yesterday was kinda cool. Went to NUS to receive my prize money for the SIBioL photo competition. Wandered around with Chi for a bit before we finally got to the Guild House. Then we got to this room with tables and people eating so we were kinda unsure whether we were at the right place ^^ Anyway some guy came out and asked me and Chi if we were prize winners and let us in for the buffet lunch XD. The lunch was pretty good but we spent most of lunch trying to think up a reason why Chi would be there( I am supposed to bring a teacher instead ^^ ). So we came up with a fake identity for her and made her the chairman of our school's photography club, filling in for our photography teacher hahahahahaha. We just sat there hoping none of the people there would come over and ask talk to us so we would have to lie about Chi :P Ok so luckily no one came to ask us so all proceeded smoothly and I got my monnay!!! muahahaha! And no Si Yang you did not contribute to my moral support so.. sorry! XP
Ok now finally everything is over and exams are my main concern.. Maybe I should do what Chi did and uninstall my messengers and block my access to my websites.. bleagh.. I wanna sleep! *whines*
Jack was so cute today, albeit a little distracting.. How is one supposed to pay attention in church when he keeps turning around to see if I've gone out yet.. XD dots.. Ah well.. Haven't seen Duncan in a while.. hmm I wonder..

Today's visit to OCS rocked.. Too short in my opinion but ohwell. Somehow now I get the feeling that army is just like one of our camps.. just longer.. or at least thats the impression they want us to have ^^ Toured the Warriors Hall first and took a look at weapons and the uniforms. Lynn and I had no interest in all the other uniforms except the first white one XD The guy in the white uniform looked so good.. then we moved on and realised that ok.. maybe not ALL guys in uniform look good.. but the white uniform does look so hot ;P We moved on to the shooting range where we got to try a firing a SAR21. It' supposed to be light but some of the girls had trouble keeping it up.. The targets are so easy to hit though.. they should put them further away ^^ Then two of us got to fire the General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) (kinda sounds like a household product) which is a WHOLE LOT heavier and needed to be propped up by a tripod.

Then they brought us to an LT where they gave us a demonstration of a night raid. Pretty cool except we were all dying from the smell of gunpowder after that. The night vision equipment is pretty cool ^^
We had to head off after that but our guide was nice and let us detour to the rations station. The food now is mostly commercial except for the main meal which is vaccum packed. They taste nice.. but I don't think its sufficient for guys, espcially when they are active all day.. I mean my brother eats a hell more then that even when he's lazing around all day o.0
Anyway besides us, ACS IB was also there.. managed to say hi to Kevin, Jono and Darren although I didn't manage to see the rest.. Somehow in our uniform we felt like sec school kids as compared to the others.. I have no idea why.. and our level is so small compared to ACS..
So back to school where I had to present my work in our art critique for my final grade. I'm quite relieved although I find Mr Yang to be more critical of our work then Ms Ching. He has no qualms about spitting out the honest truth rather then pussyfoot around the issue. We also had an external examiner, Ms Heng whom we met at our Art opening. I guess they are right, that I shouldn't pre-filter my work when I show it to them. But I don't want to show them work which I feel is sub-standard. Ok maybe it's just my perfectionist attitude speaking but they seem to feel that what I term as experimental is good enough to go into my file as well o.0
Ohwell.. overall I'm quite proud of my work. Now I have to chiong for Art History sigh..

I like it at this time of night... Its very calm and still. Not much traffic and barely any noise. Perfect time to make life changing decisions ^^ haha
Well I'm terribly disappointed with our Tioman Report. Sigh.. I think next time I need to standardize our format so that I don't end up filling, plugging up holes and rewriting whole chunks of stuff each time I collate. To make matters worse, we wait 1 hour for Mr Soh and we didn't even get the extra mark >.<
Today was quite stressful since Friday draws nearer and thats when EVERYTHING is due PLUS I have an Art history exam on that day of which the subjects tested were only emailed to me TODAY. Like I can study the night before and be expected to churn out near perfect essays again.. things like that need time yeah? Then there's the English essay, and the two Chem lab reports which I just need wrap up. Today the Bio Lab was due and there was a Math retest and quiz on the same day... SIGH! I feel like I havent breathed all day today..
Anyway at least my art is coming along nicely.. managed to get smth nice done before tmr. And to think inspiration only came a few hours ago when I prayed for it while still in school.. talk about lag.. but anyway at least I managed something nice..

This weekend has been fun! ^^ Went back home early on Friday and my family ended up going to Kuishinbo for dinner.. So dinner buffet is so much more yummy then the lunch buffet =P Anyway met Darren there because his (rather large and extended)family was celebrating his birthday. Got to eat loads of sashimi and SOBA! muahahaha!! the soft shell crab and crab was good too =P
Then Saturday.. It's always fun to see everyone in formal attire.. the nerdy never looked so good XD The dinner was nice as usual.. A very welcome change from the daily crabby serving of unappetizing mush. My table was full of chatter and nonsense and we managed to take a whole load of pictures.. So many that I still don't even have all of the pics from everyone! ^^ Me and the umm air con thingy ^^ My darling roommate and I =D Proof of the ENORMOUS amount of food we all ate (yum!) Post disco madness: posing with the free umbrella they gave us.. -.-"" The disco rocked.. so much better then last year =D The music still needs improvement though. Kim rocked on stage hahahahaha! A one night stand on the dance floor as Chi termed it ;) Was dancing with Hieu when suddenly after spinning into him, he lowered me backwards! ( I have no idea what that move is called) Lol, it was singularly unexpected and left me stunned for a minute or so but not altogether unpleasant ^^ I had no idea that Yuheng and Eugenie were into dancing as well... quite a pleasant surprise XD. Occasionally they tried to change the music to a slow dance but all of us protested loudly each time and it got changed back ^^ Apparently some guys wanted to approach some girls to dance.. Don't think that would have been possible anyway since we all didn't want a slow dance (imagine a guy asing a girl to fast dance LOL!)
Today was Nobel Day! I almost forgot to wear my house tee until I saw YiYi in it this morning. Anyway the highlight of the day was the green helium filled balloons that were passed out to us this morning which provided endless entertainment ^^ I have a video of me and Kenwei each singing in out chipmunk voice! (although I will upload them when I have the time ;) ) hahahahaha! I was so high after that for about an hour due to the helium and all the laughing XD
Well fun fun weekend.. now have to get back to compiling the bio report >.<

Wow.. Today was a lonnnnng day... Dead tired now.. But it was worth every minute of it.
Anyway our art exhibition opening at NUS turned out to be a success even with Ms Ching running around like a headless chicken in the morning due to the lack of manpower ^^ It all turned out alright in the end and things went rather smoothly. Still feel that the exhibition is a little sparse but ohwell.. they decided not us =)
The food was ok I guess.. Hostel catering.. should have known but otherwise I meet a whole bunch of new people and got to amaze a few people by revealing just what the funky orange fire thing in my work actually was ^^ My Dad came down.. Chi came down too and SiYang was supposed to go but didn't (ehem!) and Chew showed up toward the end too.. although he found the other exhibits a little more interesting XD (I don't blame him)

Lol long weekend ahead.. whee! Finally going for cluster outing tmr ^^ I do love jap food =P
Was trawling through the stuff in my com and I found the TOS trailer.. boy TOS used to be so fun.. Heard there's gonna be an anime soon.. yay! haha that should turn out quite well.. I STILL THINK ZELOS LOOKS LIKE A GIRL ^^
My bro bought me a bracelet for my b'day! <3 its cute~ XD
Anyway it's been a while since I've had a pic of the week.. hopefully this motivates me enough to churn out one work every week in time for the Studio Art AP next May. *crosses fingers*
Anyway, our group managed to arrange a meeting with the Principal, VP's and parents. In short, it was a rather hmm intense 3 hr discussion but eventually, the school admitted that they were at fault for not informing the rest of the student body about their decision to exempt the Olympiad people from the exams and they let us vote as to whether the decision should stay or if they would rather they take the exams at a later date. I guess after the rather persuasive explanation given by Mr Lim and our student's inability to take their displeasure any further then their communal lunchtime grumble, it was only natural that the decision for the exemption would remain. It's not what we would have wanted but at least we accomplished what we set out to do. I'm quite satisfied at just that. But anyway I'm happy at least the 4 four us stood up for what we believed in.
Went to the NUS museum to set up our exhibition on Wednesday. I wish I could include more of my work.. Seems a little sparse so me.. Or maybe it's just me.. We got treated to lunch at the cafe nearby where Karyen cleverly decided to invent a new concoction of sparkling grape/apple juice and a dash of expresso coffee. Yuck!
Anyway last week was a pretty busy one. I'm usually not a nervous person. I'm only nervous before exams, a race, and the ENGLISH DISCUSSION TEST. It turned out rather well I guess, although perhaps it would have been better to stick to one topic and for more people to air their views. Worst part was, I ended up being graded by a certain SOMEONE! Ok at least I think it was that someone since it all ended up jumbled. Why couldn't I just get Ken Wei to grade me >.<

Ah well the relaxing weekend is over. I actually managed to get a weekend with no homework.. wow..
I bought a new com pouch! Although the wire pouch still eludes me. Darn that junior! *slaps imaginary image of person who stole my pouch* Sim Lim is not a funny place to be at night.. lots of weird guys hanging around.. this is one time my normal face comes in handy ^^ I look so fierce and unfriendly that they stay away from me XD
Anyway, everyone seems to be on facebook now.. goodness, when I joined there was only Chi, Zhao Ye, Yam and a few of my juniors. Wahaha I have 2000+ munny now!!! :P Tawny rocks ^^

Well this week has brought big news..
Firstly our year 4's get a heavily subsidized hostel stay next year, whereas we had to fork out $1,750 per term for our stay. Or course it's easy to look at us and say we should be more gracious about these things but you know after 3 years of being every one's guinea pig, I think we're all more or less quite sick and tired of it. True, the year 5's do get some privileges such as leadership opportunities but that brings up a WHOLE NEW topic because even then, there are the favourites who always see the opportunities while the rest of us wait for scraps from the table. Although I am grateful that this term's fee has been reduced, I still do not think that it is fair for the VP's to stand up and chastise us for being ungracious. All we want is a little consideration when it comes to things like new policies and rules.
Which brings me to the second issue. The people taking the Olympiads this year are exempted from the exams. I would love to understand the rationale behind this amazing move on our school's part. What on God's green earth does taking olympiads have to do with skipping exams completely? The olympiads have no special rule exempting those who take it from their exams. So the school must have a REALLY good reason why the special few are about to get even more special. If they are worried that preparation for exams will affect the olympiad performance of vice versa, what is SO DIFFICULT about setting ONE MORE PAPER for all of them to take next year?? The reason why these people go for the olympiads is because the school feels they can handle it.. so what, our school is concerned about the incompetency of our students and worries that they can't handle both? If I understand correctly, no exams means that their grade depends entirely on their CA. Ok so, no-body's CA is that bad.. it's the exams that bring us all down. So let me get this straight, the Olympiad people get the Olympiad AND a WONDERFUL CA final GRADE??
It's just like what Abu said about the medieval times.. "the rich get richer and the poor get bloody poorer!"
No, we do not need to get exempted too, we do not need a lower percentage from our exams, THEY just need to take exams NEXT YEAR. Are they afraid the teachers will go on strike by asking them to set one more paper? Or is it just administratively too troublesome to slot in a time for them to take exams next year? So it's easier to just do away with this whole thing for them and forget about us?
I guess since the school hasnt officially annouced it, they still might have some modification to do. But it's going to take a WHOLE lot for them to fix this.. A hell of a lot..

Went to Pulau Semakau for the bio field trip yesterday! Another chance for me to bring out my water shoes =D Got a little sick on the boat and the bumpy bus ride after that wasnt much help. This brings back alot of memories from Tioman.. Ah Tioman ~<3
