Hostel Formal was like photo mania.. We took so many photos until I think my jaw was going to get unhinged from smiling too much... but the food was so yummy! nice break from crummy hostel food this exam time..
yay listening to radio again and found some new songs.
went to funan over the weekend to buy new headphones and I found this set of creative backphones that are almost $30 but this shop was selling it at 10 bucks.. GLEE! haha I jus saved close to $20 on my headphones.. and its the original headset too, not fake or anything cus it came in the original package.
w00ts! MAN U won 4-0 against Bolton, and I found my very own commentator to update me on the game cus hostel has no cable =(

Last few days of class were quite fun because we've more or less finished everything so we spent class time playing hangman and gaming on our coms.
oh and happy belated b'day to vern!
I so wish I were checking scripts right now.. then I can be done with the exams!
And I can go get a job again...

yay for the depa-raya holiday!
managed to get some work finished and catch up on my sleep ^^
Went to thejas' house for deepavali dinner together with lucy samanatha and kenneth. His mum was showing me his baby pics. His face never really changed! haha. Lucy and I were laughing over his R-21 rated baby pics.. ehem i think we're a little under-aged ^^ anw we played some racing and tennis on his Xbox before dinner. His mum made a whole lot of veggie dishes.. yum.. quite nice and she even toned down the spiciness for me.. yay for his mum! Found out kenneth is lactose intolerant.. so he couldn't eat the fruit dessert with milk. Then lucy and samantha left and thejas,kenneth and I went to Mustafa to get sparklers.. walked around Little India for about half an hour before we finally decided mustafa was a better place to get them..>.< anw we spent the evening pretending to be in India and be "one with the traffic" and jaywalk at every opportunity possible. lol!
Sparklers was fun.. we also bought kenneth's favourite mustafa mango juice which is hyper sweet, but the guys just gulped it down like it was water.. man.. I had to add water and even some ice before it was ok. Went downstairs to light the sparklers which we discovered were the whistling ones so we made quite a lot of noise. Finally decided to light up our remaining 25 sparklers all at once while shouting "happy deepavali". The bunch just exploded and finished within 10 seconds.. haha we've never seen sparklers burn that fast..
Anyway helped my mum to get new shoes at Charles and Keith the other day.. have been treating myself to subway the past few days as well ^^. Subway=Heaven and I could eat it everyday =P
I heard Kim sang pretty well in the voice competition.. Go Kim! admire your courage to go and sing haha.
Hostel Formal is coming up.. wonder where they're gonna hold it.. I hope its not in school.. maybe they'll use the library.. or (god forbid) the canteen. Just realised our school doesn't really have a place to hold formal functions.

feeling so relieved.. had a huge scare earlier today.
was heading to my bus stop to go home and I decided to take the illegal route and jaywalk. I don't know how it happened but I slipped and fell on the road just when there was oncoming traffic... fortunately the car swerved to avoid me... huge huge scare... and I got away with just a few scrapes on my hands... *whew
and when you think it can't get worse, at the bus stop I saw this jerk I knew from way back.. he's like the hugest jerk I know..
(ok maybe not the hugest since the honour is reserved for some other guy I know) but anyway how sucky can life get? I nearly die, then I meet this jerk at the bus stop. It must be a sign!! that I should go be.................. a hermit
yes hermit life definitely sounds appealing.. jungles of sumatra sound nice.. nice weather this time of year >.< can't shake the image of that oncoming car from my mind.. *shudders*
anyway I'll try to concentrate on something more frivolous like the new shoes I bought.. simply love them! <3
I'm becoming a little more appreciative of my parents, and especially home food, since I got into the hostel.. I even came back this evening just to eat my mum's cooking ^^

Am faced with the daunting prospects of picking which of my subjects to major in.. It was always my intention to do triple science, but since entering this school, if I take everything I want I end up with 2 majors and 3 major with honours. I have to drop one>.<
A little doubtful of my own ability to do all that I want to do.. I suppose this happens to other people too but its a little discouraging when you don't see it and you think you're the only one.
This hostel cut-off thing is beginning to test my already stretched patience. The hostel is being run by people who don't live there and don't eat the food and don't use the internet. I feel that for all the good intentions made by the school to regulate our living by implementing these rules, they are made with a high handedness that is to me is very irritating. Seriously, and the parents at the dialogue don't know any better. They're like sheep, following each other...Reminds me of the kind of thing that students do sometimes. Just because everyone seems to be saying yes they all announce their approval without careful consideration. And the admin take the initial response to heart. I don't see why an overly protective parent's need to have an internet curfew for his/her child should become our problem as well. There are some of us who genuinely need the internet and its isn't our problem that you have a son/daughter that is totally irresponsible with her work and needs your constant supervision over his/her work and interent time.
But I can understand how some parents really cannot afford to put their child through the hostel. I mean it is REALLY expensive compared to other places. The only reason why I'm here is because I have ESIP and have no school fees...But yet when you think about it, our hostel fees are so expensive compared to other places so why is it that even though we pay so much, we have a limitation on our internet? It almost doesn't seem worth it.
oh yeah and HAPPY 16th B'DAY ERNEST!! fapfap XD

grr a little pissed with my dentist.. he said I could take off my braces around Oct and I went for my appointment today and he tells me its now the next appointment that I SHOULD be able to take them off.. >.< grrraweuwhergretowwwwwahrurhr!!!! *stomps around*
ok now that I've vented enough... we got our class photo!! and it looks sweet. Chi is missing of course.. that was the day the Indian students came so it was monday... only Eugene so far has gotten our formal version.. everyone else got this one...
I think our class' photo look relatively ok.. at least our mentor looks like a part of our group. I've seen some photos where the mentor looks as extra as a random pillar standing in the middle of that pond.
Today is Hieu's birthday!!! yay today he's finally 5!! *chuckles* no lar he's 16 and we had a small cake fight.. thankfully no one got thrown into the pond again.. yummy pizza and cake.. which reminds me, our class hasn't had our Sept and Oct babies b'dae celebration yet..

ay haven't blogged in a long while.. feeling crappy lately but that comes in bouts so it has its phases.. Indian exchange students came over.. quite nice people.. they happened to come on a monday which happens to be the worst day for me.. monday is the chiong-hmwk-before-six-oclock-day-or-else-you-die day.. feel a bit bad that we didn't get them anything..
Had some lessonless day on friday... sch's attempt to quel the malcontent among us caused by lack of co-ordination of test/hmwk etc and lack of time to complete assignments... It's a no win thing because we are still a very kiasu bunch.. we want it all.. we want to be the best, gain more knowledge, practice with assignments, yet have time to relax and socialize... What do they define as the best I wonder, what is our school's goal? what do they define as success? to produce thoroughly book-smart people? to gain a few Nobel prizes winners at the expense of the rest of us cannon fodder? I think we need to readjust our vision here.. especially the school.. the student need to make up their minds too.. there is no solution to this as long as we want to have our cake and eat it... therefore this kind of discussion at the dialogue is useless and gets us nowhere.. increase CA percentage is good.. and so is designated prep time.. people will study eventually with no way to escape it...
yet the school continues to drag their feet on the hostel cut off time.. I don't understand their logic at all.. yeah you have gamers and slackers littered throughout these halls but still does making the rest of us pay for it deal with the problem.. people get mugged and robbed and raped every night out on the streets.. does imposing a nation wide curfew deal with that problem? stupid.. really... and while waiting for the admin to make up their minds we here have to deal with limited internet periods.. come on we live in the 21st century!! internet now comes 24/7... i wonder what we're paying such a high price for the hostel then... limited internet.. expensive laundry facilities... terrible food..
next year everyone is going to give the admin hell if hostel becomes compulsory at the price it is at now... singaporean parents are a force to be reckoned with...
I don't want to be picky, neither do I want to be bossy but what erks me is that you talk to her about me.. I never feel comfortable with that.. never.. I may be wrong but I hope you don't take everything she tells you to be the truth about me.. I know she means well but still... I dunno.. thats why I say I know you.. but not enough.. because I don't know what you think about this.. I wish we would talk about it.. it would help alot.. someone asked me for help about a similar problem.. and strangely enough I found the advice I gave him applied to me too..
