Oh, my little angel baby, you are getting so big. This last month you are turning into a big boy, and I am not sure I am ready for it. You have put the growing up on fast forward, and I want to enjoy every last bit of baby you have left… Some of the things you are doing
- Starting to walk! You will take 7-8 steps and get scared and sit down.
-Starting to talk! You will say dog, mom, dad, hi, no no no, bubye, ball, this, ddlls(you try to say Struddles, same sound every time, just not quite Struddles :))
-Will follow us all over the house
-Smile ALL of the time! There is not a person who knows you that doesn’t tell us that you are the best baby ever.
-Loves, loves, loves dogs! You and Struddles play all of the time. You flap your arms at her, and she jumps at your arms and lick your face. If you spy a dog from across the room, you freak out and say dog, dog, dog. When they come near you lay your head on them and give them a love
- Got your first 2 teeth at 9 months, and we can start to see one more coming through on the top. True to your nature, you were an angel the entire time you got your teeth!
- Mind SO good. You start to put something in your mouth, so I tell you not in the mouth. You will spit it out, and say no, no, no. But, you are not perfect and typically forget and put it back in your mouth a min later, all to start over again!
- You LOVE to cuddle and will lay your head down on everyone's shoulder to give them a love. You will give kisses, but only when you see your brother and sister give them. You have the smooch sound down and it honestly melts my heart.
Have you ever done something as a parent that just makes you sick every time you think about it… Well I lost ALL the pictures to Ridge’s 3rd birthday! Then a miracle happened, and Mitzi happened to find them in some maternity pants that I finally gave her back a YEAR later! One year of guilt, and I can finally get over it!!! Yay, so nearing his 4th birthday I can finally post his 3rd!
Ridge decided that he wanted to have a backhoe party, and he wanted to invite his friends, just like Navie did ;). So we threw him a fun little birthday party. Pop-pop (my dad) has a backhoe that the kids LOVE to drive, so he brought it down and let each of the kids get in and dig in it.
They all got hard hats that they decorated while they waited for everyone to have a turn digging.
Then we hooked up the piñata to the bucket of the backhoe and let the kids go to town. (Wow, I am huge! Don’t forget this was a year ago, and I am ready to pop with Hawkins in my belly)!
Add a melt down at this point of the party… Then, just as quick as it was here, it was over and on to presents!
We finished off with cake and ice cream, and I had the happiest little 3 year old ever. He loved his party, and has been planning his next year birthday ever since! Happy Birthday buddy, hope you had the best backhoe birthday ever!
Okay, so there are so many times that I have thought that I don’t want to forget this about Ridge, or I should blog about that about Ridge. Well needless to say I have slacked a little bit, so here is a post dedicated to my Ridger-man.
Ridge at age 3 1/2!!
He is pure boy. Loves trucks, trains, and shooting things. Will often be found without his shirt off, playing in the water in the bathroom, or jumping off of the couch. l
- My heart melts when he comes up to me and says, “Hey lover grill” and I always reply with “Watcha doing lover boy”. He’s not going to want me to be his lover girl for long, so I am eating up right now!
-Has been riding his bike all summer without training wheels!!!
-Starts most things with prolly… “Mom were prolly going to take a walk around the block aren’t we.”
-When referring to anything in the past says, “last night ago we…”
-Finally is outgrowing the terrible 2’s!
-Does not sleep in
-Was a momma’s boy until the last couple of weeks, and just might be switching to be daddy’s buddy
-Has OCD when giving you hugs and kisses goodbye. He will give you at least 3 sets of hugs and kisses. Then when you walk out the door he FREAKS out, and chases after you needing to give you just one more!
-Says “Love you too,” even when he is the first one to say I love you
-Can be sooo stubborn, and will say I will punch you out the window when he is mad.
-Won’t use anything that is pink or a “grill” color
-Favorite thing is to rough house with dad everyday when he get’s home from work, and loves to help him out around the house.
This was Navie’s second year playing T-ball, and she was a pro! She had a ton of fun kids on her team and had a great time playing! There were a couple of games that I saw a few hand stands and cartwheels out in the outfield, but who could blame her??
She was so happy that she wasn’t the only girl on the team this year and that her friend was playing with her!
Cute little Ridge hanging out at her game. It only took 6 shots of him putting his hand in front of his face before he decided that he would smile for me!
So you would think being a photographers kid you would get a million sessions, nope I was lucky I could get a 10 min one in! BUT I think they turned out great! Can we just say that I am sooo smitten with this little guy. And yes, he is as sweet as he looks. Total Mommy goggles, but my heart melts just looking at him. He really is such a good baby, and I am so lucky to have him. He has been sleeping through the night since he was 7 or 8 weeks, eats like a champ (if you can’t tell), and loves attention. Even if he briefly catches your eye, he’ll start talking to you to lure you to talk to him. He’ll giggles and wants your attention forever.
And this last one is not the best picture, but I decided impromptu(no getting ready for me)to have Mitzi try to take a picture of me and him. Of course, he wanted nothing to do with it. I am not giving up, I never get pictures with my kids and I NEED TO!
Please little Hawkins don’t get any bigger. Keep those big blue eyes, squishy cheeks, and contagious smile! I love you little man!
Ridge and Navie were playing in their upside down tent together. They were dying to have Hawk join in on their fun. I helped him into the tent and they honestly had so much fun together.
They got him some blankets, pillows, and toys and made him nice and comfortable. Soooo cute!
I just love watching them play together, it just melts my heart to see how much they love their new little brother. I can’t wait for all the fun times to come!
