Sloane at 1 year

 We braved Sloane's 1 year pics when I was sick and she was starting to get sick.  I'm glad that we went ahead and went because I'm so happy with how they turned out!

This is what Miss Sloane is up to at 1 year:

-You eat pretty much anything that we put on your plate, except broccoli. 

-You are walking all over the place now.

-You have a fear of strangers and men right now.  You love daddy and your brothers but want nothing to do with anyone else. 

-You like watching Bubble Guppies on TV and dance when the music comes on.

-You can clap and wave.

-You can say mama, but do not say it often.  Dada is your favorite word.  You also say "yeah" and you said "more" the other day. 

-You love Lucy and like to play with her.

-Your face lights up when your brothers walk into the room.

-You love playing outside and pushing your cute pink mower all over the yard.

You are such a sweet, loving little 1 year old.  We love you!

Sloane's 1st bday party

Our baby girl is ONE!  It doesn't seem like it was a year ago that our 10lb 3oz. princess joined this world!   We had a small party for her at our house on Saturday.  She had a much different way of putting out the candle than her brothers did.  I'm glad that we got it on video!

sickness x 5

Sickness has taken over our house, times 5!
The order that it hit our house:
1. Hudson
2. Dawson
3. Tessa
4. Geoff
5. Sloane
 Hudson woke up around 9:00 last Sunday coughing and couldn't breathe. We have done this parenting thing long enough to know what a croup sounding cough sounds like. We tried to take him outside twice b/c breathing in cool air will usually do the trick. It was warm that day so didn't help at all! He was really struggling (and asking to go to the doctor) so I took him into the ER. They got us in really fast and gave him a steroid and a breathing treatment. Steroids make me mean and hyper! It was a fun 5 days with him on steroid medication. This is him in the ER after his medicine. It was midnight!

Saturday morning Miss Sloane had a low grade fever.   I had her 1 year pics and family pics scheduled and it was going to be very hard to reschedule with the photographer going on maternity leave soon.  We scratched the family pics and I loaded us up on Motrin and we went for the pics.  Everything turned out great!  She woke up from nap with a fever and cough.

Geoff decided to go in to urgent care today bc he was worried that he had strep.  He has strep and the flu.  I took Sloane in after that and she has RSV but was negative for the flu.  They gave her Tamiflu anyway to help prevent it.   Hudson and I were both tested for it earlier in the week and we were both negative.  Dawson wasn't tested but think that maybe he had it.  Cross your fingers that everyone gets well soon!

Walking

Sloane started taking a few steps last week.  She started walking longer distances yesterday and kept that up again today.  She isn't walking everywhere yet but I see that coming in the near future!  Here is a video from yesterday.



In other news, I started giving her a bottle at lunch time instead of nursing her and she finally gave in a took it!   She also took a bottle at MDO for the first time ever!  Making progress!!

Happy New Year!

2013 was full of great things for us!  A new baby, a promotion for Geoff, selling and house, construction on a new one and many great laughs!  Hopefully 2014 is just as great!
