Day #4/5 Sea World and home

After La Jolla we tried to go see Mission beach but parking was a joke so we just headed to Se World. We spent every minute we could there, one of the last ones out of the park. I know a lot of people don't agree with the killer whales being at Sea World and the use of these animals for entertainment, and I hope they are being treated right, but I thought it was so fun to be that close to these majestic animals! It was such a fun day. Perfect weather too. The last thing we did was the rides. We rode Shipwreck Rapids and got soaked big time! Then we rode the Manta. It was a bit scary for me but Glenn loved it. Then we rode the Atlantis. We were shocked by this one. It was old looking so we weren't expected much. It took us up a but hill and dropped us down through water, we thought we were done. Then we went into a dark room where we thought it was ending, nope! It took us up a roller coaster elevator and shot us out for another ride! That was fun. We did the Wild Artic ride which was a helicopter simulator and we both felt sick after that. But it was such a fun day! We had so much fun just being together. Sea World would have been more fun with the girls but we really enjoyed our time as a couple.

Then before we were ready it was time to go home. Sad! We were excited to see the girls but sad to leave such a fun trip. This is our $24 breakfast since we didn't eat before the airport. At least it was good. We had an easy flight home and lots of welcoming hugs from our girls.
On our way home we went and saw Blakes house. It is a monster! It will be absolutely amazing when it is done. Always fun to see them.

And just like that. Back home to real life! So glad we were able to go on this trip! It was so fun.

While we were away the kids did play! The girls had so much fun staying with the Baileys. I think it was all fun and games except AJ's math homework! That was rough! They did the zoo, movies, Aquarium, Wheeler Farm and made lots of memories. Thank you to my family for taking such good care of my kids! I didn't worry about them even once. I knew they were being well cared for.

San Diego day #4 Temple and La Jolla

Day #4 Glenn was done with class so we had all day to do what we wanted.  We had booked a rental car in advance so first we went and picked it up. It was such a smooth experience. And it was a nice car once we figured out how to start it! It was fancy.  I love the scenery all around San Diego, lots of varieties of trees.
Our original plan was to do a session in the temple. But we found out while there that it was closed for maintenance. We still wanted to see it so we went and walked around the grounds. It was so pretty. Such a peaceful place hidden among a busy city.

After the temple we went to see La Jolla cove. Everyone we talked to said if we had time for any beach that was the one to see. We were not disappointed. It was so beautiful! Just amazing. We both fell in love with it and dream of the day we can go back. We didn't take the time to swim in the ocean but we walked around everywhere we could and saw the sea lion cubs. They had that part closed off in the cove but we got up close and personal with them in other spots. They were not cared of humans at all. And man did they stink!!! It was fun to hear the waves crash, watch surfers, collect sand and just be by the ocean. We really enjoyed it.

 MY FAVORITE VIEW!!!! AMAZING!

The cove, There was a seagull playing with a bouncy ball, it was hilarious.

 Such amazing views!

Glenn was brave and went down and collected sand for me. He got really close a sea lion!

San Diego day #3

On Day #3 Glenn had class again from 8-5. We went out our door for breakfast and saw a very large dead rat. I screamed. Gross. Then I decided that if the shuttle would take me to the zoo that is what I would do.  And to my surprise they were happy too. So I went to San Diego Zoo by myself! I can't believe I did that! But honestly I had a good time. It is really cool but it is also really huge! There were really steep hills to climb to see everything and some double decker buses that took you places. It was so crowded. I waited for an hour to see the Panda sleeping with his bum towards me, sad. But the lady telling us about the panda had the brightest hair I have ever seen and she was entertaining. I loved the monkey land. It was pretty cool. And they had a program where they raised dogs with wild animals as their companion. That was fun to see. The polar bear was brown, somewhat weird to see that. I heard a lion roar, it was awesome and LOUD! I even rode the people mover in the sky by myself. It helped to send pictures to Joy all day, made me feel like I was there for her. I was so worn out after like 5 hours I decided to head back so the shuttle driver picked me up and took me back. It was a fun day.

When I got back we went to dinner one last time as a group. It was fun to get to know new people. We heard about a rootbeer and jerky place in Old Town so we tried that after. It was ok. We had pecan rootbeer, not my favorite. But fun experience. I was exhausted by the time we went back to the hotel. But we went and sat in the hot tub for a bit. It was the best view!  Didn't take our phones so no pic though. Day #3 was a success and I felt so grown up hanging out by myself at the zoo! Would have been better with Glenn but he had class.
