Don't go loosing your heart

Hi everyone, thank you so much for stopping by. Tonight I'm over on the Paper Artsy blog with some inspiration for their current challenge, which is Hearts. What a fabulous time of year to have a heart challenge! Hearts to me are about love! Whether they be cute pretty ones or grungy rusty ones all appeal to me.

Of course they don't have to be about Valentine's Day, they can be used all year round and for all occasions. Leandra on their blog has a link to her Pinterest page, full of wonderful hearts which you can go and look at, as well as some wonderful creations on the blog from team, for the two weeks of the challenge.

Here is a peep of mine - the full details are on the blog. I hope you have time to pop along and have a look. I really enjoyed making this project, and I hope you like it, and it has inspired you to have a go.

By for now! Take care Debs xxx

Wanderlust journey so far

Hello everyone, I hope you are well and coping with variable temperatures and weather patterns. My thoughts over the last few weeks have been with the folks in Hebden Bridge and surrounding areas and those in Cumbria. Both places are dear to me! Seeing their struggles with the floods was heart breaking, as it is anywhere, but knowing people in the areas makes it more real. Especially as we were in Cumbria the last time it flooded and although not affected - we were in a Gate Lodge that was high off the ground. We experienced a little of the devastation it caused. Makes me sad to think of it!

On a brighter note, I, like many of my crafting buddies are on a year long workshop Wanderlust 2016. I cannot tell you what's going for obvious reasons but I can share what I create. All are journal pages. The middle one is a journal deconstructed (I haven't put it together yet) and the last also has some in between shots. There a quite a few photos :)

Show your Face

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've had time to create a face but last night I had a ball. I arrived home with nothing to do except order the takeaway. So I took my self the craft room and had a play. I will link this to Kim Dellows show your face

I quickly sketched her with my Stabilo All in black. I activated the pencil to create shadows. I quite liked her at this stage. She has a defiant look about her which I wanted to retain. I was careful not to overwork her as I didn't want to lose the harshness.

I added some more pencil and then red Bister around the edge and on her lips and thought that was enough. Here are some close ups.

I really enjoyed playing and hope to get some more time this weekend. You all take care, hugs Debs xxxx

Trio of ATCs

Hello everyone, it's that time again for a new challenge over at That's Crafty. The theme is ATCs and for my inspiration I chose to do three. I wanted to show that you can create so many different styles. Also, there is more fabulous inspiration from my team mates over on the blog.

So get your thinking caps on and get those wonderful creations entered into the challenge. Check out the rules before you enter to ensure you qualify. If chosen you will win a £20 voucher to spend in That's Crafty's shop. How great is that?

My ATCs are two grey/white board with rounded corners and 1 acrylic all from That's Crafty. I used Archival inks in various colours with Dinky Stencils, for my background of the two boards. On my acrylic I used Versamark glue and Sara Naumann bird stamp with White Sparkle embossing powder. I used it on the front side as I wanted to see the texture of the embossing powder.

You can see above that the background is painted with several colours, these are Media Fluids. I chose colours that were very translucent as I wanted the White card I had backed it with, to show through here and there. As well as provide a base on which the colours could be true colour.

On this one I have shown how it can hold up to many elements. There are four layers on this ATC. Both the heart and the tiny tag are from That's Crafty and can be bought in MDF too.

Again lots of stencils and then stamps from Emma Godfrey. I don't know where the little man came from but he is a perfect size. I used Gelatos to colour the heart.

I really loved playing with these. Every time I create one I remember how much fun it is. I hope I have inspired you to play along.

Take care for now, see you soon hugs Debs xx

Fabulous day at Birds in the Barn

Hello everyone, thank you for stopping by. I'm sharing some wonderful journal pages created by a great bunch of ladies at my recent workshop at Birds in the Barn.
We used lots of emphera, paints, stencils, and inks, on these pages, and the ladies stepped right outside their comfort zones getting creative and very messy!

We were provided with a lovely lunch and looked after by the lovely Karen and Sue, keeping us in drinks and gorgeous home made cake.

My workshop is on the 6th of Feb, please call the shop to book your place, but hurry as places go quick. We also have a closed Face Book group, which you will be invited to once you have attend a workshop. Here we share projects with each other, chat, ask questions etc.

We will be using Crackle Glaze from Paper Artsy next month on our projects to create a vintage page. Hope to see you there.

Take care for now hugs Debs xx
