Bring on the rust
Today I'm over at That's Crafty with a project on rust. I love creating vintage aged projects and rust is one of my fav ways to create an aged look. Here's a peek but you can see the full tutorial here.
I hope you enjoy seeing how it was created any questions please leave them in the comments and I will asap. Take care for now hugs

First Powertex Play
I bought some fabric from the Powerex web site and tore a piece off to use on a #10 gray/whiteboard tag from That's Crafty. I soaked the material in the medium and arranged it on my tag. I love how mailable the fabric became, I added some other pieces and let it dry.
Once it was dry enough to touch I painted the tag, in gold, then added some bister in Natrual and Blue. I then used some copper colour mixed with Matt medium. I included some polymer clay pieces I had created using molds.
Well there it, is my first play. I think I am hooked and will be using this much more in my mixed media creations. Take care and I'll see you hugs Debs xxx

My second inspiration
Here's what I did
I used a small square smoothly board and gave it a thin coat of Crackle Glaze and once dry I covered in Chalk Fresco Acrylic. Then using Distress ink I formed some peaks and troughs.Next I stamped a tree and cottage from my stash (cannot remember where I got this from)
Then came Father Christmas from Paper Artsy which I coloured with Fabre Castel Paint pens
I used the paint pens for the house also.
There you go! I'll be back soon so you all take care, hugs Debs xxx

New Challenge
I kept with a Christmas theme with my little cozy room, but you can do anything you fancy!
I love these little art rooms from Tando as they are so versatile, although this is my first I'm sure there will be many more.
First I made up the room
While this was drying I asked my OH to find me some Victorian style paper for the back wall. I also requested that he add a fire place with mantel and a picture above. The picture is one of our wedding in Landale with Pikes in the background. He found an old frame for it too.
I painted the brickwork as I wanted to create a London Stock brickwork but I didn't like the colour so changed it back to off white. At this stage I didn't really know where I was going with it and with Hindsight it probably would look better red with the finished creation.
I used grunge paste on the floor and fashioned it to look like old floor boards. I painted it with Burnt and Raw Umber, then used a gloss vanish.
I added some broken plant branches as fire wood and a piece of hessian for the mat. The garland on the mantle was some fresh leaves of one our conifers with some clay balls painted red. I sprinkled some glamour dust too for that Christmas sparkle.
The snow is from DecoArt, the tree a Tim Holtz. I used some hessian for its base and some ribbon from my stash. The clock is from Kaiser Crafts.
To add that warmth you can see in the first picture I cut a tealight into 4,and tucked it away in the left corner. Here is a video with a show around
I hope I have inspired you to enter the challenge, take care and I'll see you soon hugs Debs xx

Christmas Gifts and Cards
Hello everyone, tonight I'm sharing a gift box and tag I made for the Paper Artsy blog. You can see all the details here.
I promised to share how I made this
For the base
I cut my card 8x8 inch and scored each edge at 1/2 in and 1 1/2in
I cut into the corners to give a neat fold
I folded the 1/2in score line all round and then assembled the base.
I used glossy accents to stick it together.
The lid is made in the same but it is 1/8 in bigger all round. This allows for ease of removing.
I really enjoyed making this box and hope to make some sets in the New Year. Take care, and I'll see you Debs xx

Face for Friday
I took this picture just after I had sprayed her with a gloss vanish I love the effect it created
Here is one before the spray.
I was still pleased with her but love the sprayed one as she almost looks like she's made from concrete.
Take care all and I'll see you soon hugs Debs xx
Seasons Greetings
For mine I chose a simple project on acrylic.
I just love the different substrates in acrylic that That's Crafty are selling and thought this little candle holder would make a lovely addition to my Christmas makes.
I started by stamping my features on the backside of the acrylic on all four sides. The stamps are all from Paper Artsy and can be found in the That's Crafty Store
And then I painted them with Fresco Acrylic Paint
I added some snow and and some snowflakes
Once it was dry I then painted over it all with my background colour which again is the Fresco Acrylic from Paper Artsy
Once it was all dry I applied cosmic shimmer dries clear glue around the edges and base put them in position and held them together for a few minutes and then set it aside to dry.
I think it is a pretty decoration to look at and with a electric candle inside it makes it glow beautifullyI cannot wait to see what you get up to, so have fun. I'll see you later hugs Debs xxx
