1st Paycheck, 1st Black Eye, 1st New Car

We've had a lot of firsts lately. Both good and bad. We'll start off with the good.
Davis got his very first paycheck after his first week of work. Wahoo!! I'm going to the bank to deposit that thing as soon as Gavin wakes up from his nap. We are stoked to be having a positive income at last. And love that every friday is payday now. Davis is loving his job. He comes home on Cloud 9 every day. It's fun seeing him so excited and happy. He's already done a variety of procedures and seen patients ages 3-60+. So each day is different and he loves it.
First brand new car. We LOVE our 2010 Tucson. It's so fun to drive and gets terrific gas mileage. AND has functioning A/C. And our very first car payment will be due in a couple weeks.
Gavin got his first shiner Thursday night. He tripped and hit his eye on the corner of our coffee table. Let me tell you how freaked out I was when I saw blood coming from my son's eye. ugh. And Davis wasn't home from work yet. His eye bubbled up like a blister in one spot and he has about 1/8" gash. I talked to the dr. on call and she said it didn't need stitches since it stopped bleeding quickly and stayed shut when he blinked. Phew. Stitches would have been awful. Gavin was a trooper though. He cried pretty good for a few minutes, but got over it pretty quickly.
He looks like he just has a little eye shadow on haha.

We just got back from the Virginia Dental Association meeting in Williamsburg this weekend. It was so fun! His boss put us up in the Williamsburg Lodge and paid for us to go to the Presidental Dinner. The dinner was Casino themed and we had fun playing Black Jack with fake money and collecting chips. We turned the chips in for tickets into drawings. Unfortunately, we didn't win anything. And even worse, I completely forgot to pack the camera for this trip. oops.

I'm now 21 weeks along. The baby is starting to get some good kicks in. It's fun feeling the baby. I'm pretty much over my morning sickness. finally. Why it lasts until 20 weeks for me, I don't know.

Sneak Peek

Some friends of ours asked me to take their family pictures last week. I was nervous, especially with the energetic boys. But I was surprised how much they loved posing for the camera! They were such hams, it made it fun! With over 600+ photos to go through, here's a sneak peek of a few that I've gone through and played with.

The boys loved playing in the water which made for great photo ops!

VA Beach Trip

We decided to take a spur of the moment beach trip during Davis's time off. We went right after Memorial Day for a couple days. It was so much fun! We got great rates since it was right after memorial day and during the middle of the week. We scored a killer hotel at a really good price. It was the nicest hotel room I think I've ever stayed in! It was decorated well. I loved the color scheme.
There was granite in the bathroom. Yeah, granite. wow. And they had Bath and Body Works soap, lotion, and conditioner. yummy!
This was the view from our room. So beautiful! Plus the beach was practically empty since it was after memorial day and the hotel was at the very end of the board walk. So it was quiet and very relaxing.
We stopped in Suffolk and looked at a couple houses before we went to the beach. We were exhausted by the time we go to the hotel room. Poor Gavin was wiped out. He had trouble going to sleep the first night, but after that, he was a champ at sleeping in the pack n play.
Gavin was scared of the waves and ocean. We got to play in the sand a little but mainly spent our time at the 2 pools at the hotel. The indoor pool had  a lazy river that was fun to float around.
This photo made me laugh! Gavin's like "What up Dude?"
We even saw dolphins from our room. There was a pretty good sized pod the swam by and played just beyond the beach. That was fun seeing them in real life.

bump #2

i finally got a chance to have Davis snap a pic of the growing baby bump. this is baby #2 at 18 weeks. i'm still puking. I've been craving steak, potatoes, and fresh raspberries. mmm.
Davis also took pics of Gavin walking around with a bucket on his head. He thought it was really fun to do and started singing "ABC" into it.
silly boy.
