Open Wide

Gavin's first dental exam:

Davis wanted to see if he could feel any teeth or sore spots on Gavin's gums. Fortunately he didn't find either, so hopefully we have a little while before any pearly whites find their way to the surface. Phew!!

Like father like son! These are my two hoodlum boys hangin out in our crib.... well at least Gavin hangs out in a crib! :o)
Gavin is starting to grasp things now. So far his favorite thing to grab is my hair. ouch!
I think I said this last time, but Gavin is quite a jabber mouth. He is learning what amazing things his voice can do. This video was taken on Gavin's Ah-ooo day. He woke up that morning saying Ah-ooo Ah-ooo over and over in his crib. (I loved waking up to such a sweet sound.) He then continued to say Ah-ooo all day long. It was really really cute!

I heart....baby stuff!!

So I was thinking about all the baby products that I totally love and could not live without and thought I would share my top 10 baby products.

#10 Booger Suckers. I HATE boogers and this handy tool sucks 'em right out. I then have my designated Booger Rag that I put them on. Booger suckers makes it so that I don't have to touch the slimy morsels.
The one thing that goes with booger suckers is Saline Drops. It softens them right up and they come out like a charm.
#9 Snap N Go.

I love how handy this little contraption is. It is so light and easy to use! And I don't feel like a fuddy-dudd pushing a huge stroller around. I just pop in the car seat and away we go.
#8 Video Monitor.
This is awesome now that Gavin sleeps in his crib. All I have to do is flip on the mini tv to see how he is doing without getting out of bed. Beautiful!
#7 Receiving Blankets. These were great to swaddle Gavin with when he was small. Now we use them as burp clothes. This summer we can use them as light blankets. I love things with many uses!
#6 Baby Jeans.
They are just so darn cute! And they go with every onesie.
#5 Sling.
I love these homemade slings. Super cheap, easy to make and wash. I made 3 for under $10. Plus you can put your baby in them several different ways as they grow. I have 2 hands again. Yay!
#4 Baby Einstein Fish Mobile.
Gavin loves this! It puts him to sleep every night with its water-sounds and moving fish screen.
#3 Gown Sleepers.
Davis and I are not snap people, so these gown sleepers saved our sanity in the early months. (Davis has complained about too many snaps on onesies....they have a whopping 3 snaps!) Those middle of the night diaper changes can be a bugger with snap sleepers. You can never get them right! ugh!
#2 Boppy.
I would die without my boppy. It's great for nursing, tummy time, and propping Gavin up to look around the room.
#1 Sleep.
Okay, okay, so this isn't a baby product, but sleeping babies are the cutest thing ever! And when they learn to sleep through the night, it makes life 20 times better! I seem to have a better outlook on life now that I get more sleep. (Right now Gavin goes to bed around 10:00pm and sleeps until 7:00am, eats, and then goes back to sleep until 9-10:00. I am loving it!!)
Honorable Mentions:
Jog Stroller. I love the big wheels and the MP3 player and speakers. It makes getting into shape fun.
The smell of new Diapers. mmmm!
*** Special thanks to Gavin for being such a great model!

Gavin turned 4 months old today. He's getting so big! He loves sucking on his fingers, his pointer finger seems to be his favorite. He loves to smile, laugh, and make all kinds of sounds. Gavin responds when we ask him questions. We have no idea what he says, but he responds and it is so cute! He loves to look in the mirror at himself. Sometimes he'll smile at his reflection. Gavin weighs about 14 pounds and is 25 inches long.

P.S. Happy St. Patty's Day!

Rolling Over

Gavin rolled over for the first time yesterday. It was really cool because Davis and I were there and we had the camera out. We were actually trying to take a picture of Gavin on his tummy and he wouldn't look up so Davis grabbed a toy to get Gavin's attention and Gavin looked up and rolled over. I got a cool picture of Gavin rolling over. It's blurry because I wasn't using the flash, but it makes it kind of cool because you can see the motion of him rolling. Too bad I didn't have it set on record and we would have had it on video. Oh well. I'm just happy I got a picture of it. Yesterday was also exciting because Gavin slept 9 stright hours. Ahh, if only it he could do that EVERY night! Here's pics of the roll:

Right before.

Rolling over!!

And after!

When my family was here over Christmas, my dad designed and helped Davis build a shed as our Christmas present. They built in 3 days! We love having the extra storage space and have it filled with bikes, tools, lawn mower, tiller, paint cans, etc. Davis is building shelves in it today so that he can put his tools out there. Davis is trying to convince me we need to buy double of some tools so that he can have one in the shed and one in the house. I'm not so sure about that! We finally finished painting the exterior of the shed on Saturday, thanks to the beautiful weather. Gavin even came out and helped before his nap. Here's what it looks like after a fresh coat of paint.

Snow!

As most of you know, we got snow on Monday. We couldn't believe it! We had more snow than my mom and dad did in Utah. And with the snow came a snow day and so Davis enjoyed a nice 3 day weekend. It was beautiful! And what's funny, is we're going to hit 80 degrees this weekend. Yep, one week after our snow storm and temperatures of 15 degrees, we get up to 80!! Gotta love Virginia! The snow was very wet and knocked several trees down. There was a huge tree that had bent over and its snow covered branches were touching the road. It was really pretty and I wanted to take a picture, but it fell down before I could.

We had icesickles (sp?) on our house.

Our lovely home covered in snow.
This is Gavin on our snow day. He loved looking at the white stuff outside.

Here's some of the latest pics of Gavin. Now that mom and grandma have figured out how to play the videos, I don't have a video this time. Sorry! But here's some pictures for you to enjoy.
Gavin loves standing.

Gavin shared his play gym with his friend Thomas during a play date. Yes, my son has the huge wet spit-up-spot which he did right before the picture.
Gavin's newest thing is he's found the shoulder seam on my shirt and he loves to explore it with his tongue. He's quite the drool monster too, so when I hold Gavin, I get a big wet spot on my shoulder!
