Quite the eventful day!

Today was one of those days where we had to get up really early and didn't get home until really late. At 7 this morning we left home to go to David's parent's house. It was a pretty crazy drive. By the time we hit Provo the road turned to ice and we saw somewhere between 10-15 cars off the side of the road. It was scary but thankfully it didn't look like anyone was injured. We also saw this truck pulling a trailer get cut off by a little car. Well, instead of the car just getting back over or punching the gas he slammed on his breaks! It's scary when people do stuff like that...especially in that kind of weather! Well, the little car ended up getting back over but the guy in the truck was pretty ticked because as he passed him he swerved at him! His trailer came really close to hitting that car. YIKES!

When we got to their house David had some work to get done with his dad. Debi, Amy, Kolton, Derek, and I hung out at the house. It was a good time though...I love just hanging out with people. Amy and I even took a little walk today and tried to sled down some hills. It didn't work out to well but it was sure fun trying! She even let me wear her snow pants so I stayed warm and dry while her pants got all wet.

Kolton got to help bottle feed the baby cows today. I'd post a picture but they're on Debi's camera. :) He was telling me tonight that the cows kept saying, "please, please...I need out." I thought it was cute.

Grandma Gull had this cute cushion on the floor that Derek kept trying to stand on and move around the house but it was just too big. I even tried to roll it to him once and it knocked him over. Oops!

On our way home from grandma's house we stopped and had dinner at Gecko's...my favorite mexican restaurant. They even gave Kolton a pin to wear that said Gecko's on it. He thought it was pretty cool.

After dinner we stopped at Steven and Kim's house to pick up the Valentine's for my kids that my mom sent home with Steven last weekend. We had a good time hanging out with the kids. Kolton always gets so upset when their kids have to go to bed and he has to stay downstairs. Also, you should have seen the sad look Derek gave Kim when she told him it was yucky to suck on someone's shoe! ha ha

Finally, we stopped at Walmart to pick up some essentials (tp, wipies, and coupons!) What a long day! I'm just glad to be home. If only I could get myself to go to bed before midnight I'd probably feel pretty good in the morning!

Eight more months have come and gone!

So it's been EIGHT MONTHS since I last posted. A while ago I decided I was done even trying with this thing, but lately I've been reading other people's blogs again and I have a renewed desire to try and keep up with this.

June---Kolton turned 3!

July---Angie came to visit and babysit Steven's kids

August---???

September---Derek started crawling at 6 months old! He is in to EVERYTHING!

October---For Halloween we hung out at Eric's house and went trick or treating around the neighborhood. Rylee was born!

November---Went to California. Parents took us to Knotts Berry Farm. Celebrated Thanksgiving in California. Got to be there for Christian's blessing.

December---Went to the in-laws for Christmas. Spent New Years Eve with some of my family at Eric's house.

January---Derek started walking at 10 months old (New Years Day)

Boring post I know but I just wanted to document a summary so I could add pictures later.

It's catch up time!

I really need to catch up on all the things that have happened the past couple months! This will be quite the long post when it's all said and done. Let's begin...

Easter!

Kolton dying his Easter eggs

Putting the eggs in the cool egg shaped holder I bought three years ago but have never used.

Kolton freaking out because I was trying to get a picture of him holding his egg with his name on it.

Derek holding his egg with his name on it.

Derek looking for eggs...could you believe it was right in front of his face the whole time!?

Kolton found an egg and was pretty excited about it.

Derek was determined...he searched high and low for his eggs. ha ha

This was right before an Easter egg hunt with some of the cousins. Trevor was nice enough to help Kolton.

Derek's Blessing Day!

By the time this picture was taken we were all tired and ready to just relax. It was a really good day though.

4 Wheelin' and playing in the mud!

Kolton playing on his 4 wheeler that he calls his tractor.

I had tried to show Kolton that it would be fun to play with his monster trucks in the mud.

This picture cracks me up because Kolton's feet are up and he's pointing because he saw a bug!

Playin' in the mud

Eatin' the mud! YUMMY!

What a cute baby!

Trip to Grandma Gull's house!

I kept telling Derek he was too small to play on the trampoline...but he insisted!

Kolton with his cool binoculars that grandma made!

David playing on Uncle Michael's new toy

Kolton and freckles

He likes that dog but Freckles is a little too hyper for me!

Crazy Kolton!

This is my favorite. One day I gave Kolton some M&M's and then I went on doing whatever it was I was doing at the time. I kept hearing him say something about his nose but I didn't think much of it. Finally, I looked at him and he had been trying to shove the M&M's up his nose! Hence the different colored nostrils. ha ha

Kolton's been wanting to sit in the high chair again ever since I set it up for Derek to use. He looks really tall sitting in it.

David and Kolton being silly

Crazy Derek!

This is such a funny picture of Derek and grandma just looking so surprised at eachother!

Too cute!

Aquarium!

Cool pic of me and Kolton right outside the aquarium

After waiting impatiently Kolton got his turn steering the boat

This is actually how we spent most of the day...watching Kolton cry!

Kolton's okay standing in front of the not so scary fish

Is that shark biting that sting ray's bottom?! ha ha

This is how Derek spent most of the day

Grandpa Blackwell came to visit!

Pool party!

I bought this kiddie pool because normally Kolton freaks out with water. I wasn't sure if he would like it. Now I wish I would have bought a bigger one because koltong was jumping in the pool (feet first of course...no diving in this pool) and I couldn't believe it wasn't hurting him to do so. I wish I would have taken an action shot of him jumping in but oh well.

It was hard to hold Derek up and take a picture at the same time.

Derek and Kolton just chillin'

Derek in his speedo! ha ha

Derek in his cool doggy robe after he was done chillin' in the pool.

Well, well, well...where does the time go?!

Well, my sister has once again pointed out to me that I'm a loser when it comes to the upkeep of my blog. I really have no excuse besides being lazy because I've been taking a lot of pictures lately. It's late though so I'll just post one picture right now because Angie said she wants to see what Derek looks like now. He has changed quite a bit and chunked up a lot. He almost outweighs his cousin Mady who is one year older than him.

Outfits and blankets

It's been raining here a lot this week. It was good because I was able to use one of the really warm outfits that Angie bought for Derek. It kept him nice and warm and it made me laugh because for some reason it looked to me like he was going hunting or something.

Kolton always wants a chocolate milk when we go out to eat somewhere. Milk makes you grow big and strong as you can see because his jacket he's wearing doesn't even fit. ha ha

This picture is to show how cute the blanket is that Great Grandma Ray made for Derek. He sleeps so well bundled up in this blanket. Thank you Grandma Ray!

Kolton's had a rough couple of days now because he's not being a very good listener. I thought I'd capture a nice peaceful moment of him taking a nap. Also, the Tigger and Pooh blanket is from Great Grandma Ray. She does such a good job with these blankets and it's great because it fits Kolton's toddler bed perfectly.
