We were tagged a while ago by my friend Crystal, but this one is a little different. We are supposed to list 8 things you may not know about us!
1. Our first date was Homecoming our senior year. We had liked each other for about 7 months though.
2. We were married 2 months and 16 days after David got home from his mission.
3. We love to play games. We really like playing games with Crystal and Stuart.
4. We once played an extremely intense game of Sorry with Ben and Beth Inouye. We talked as little as possible. Who knew that Sorry could be so intense.
5. We haven't even had our car for a year and a half and we already have 26,000 miles on it. When we got it, it had 200 miles.
6. Before we got married, the farthest east David had ever been in the US was Evanston, Wyoming. We have since extended that to Iowa!
7. Rosalee has been to the Bahamas, but had never been to Arizona until the 22nd of December.
8. David loves anything and everything that Rosalee cooks for him. Rosalee loves to cook for David because of all the compliments he gives her cooking.
We tag Mom Dougal and Kanien.

The Rules:
1. The player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves - try to find 6 you haven't already posted about!
2. At the end of the post, the player tags people and posts their names, and then goes to their blog and leaves them a comment, letting them know they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog for the rules.
Here it goes!
1. I am a closet Michael Jackson fan. It is almost embarrassing for me to say that!! I really like his older stuff. It all started when I was in Young Womens. My president, Jennifer Obray, would play the CDs while we were driving places. Then she would stop the song halfway through, rewind it a little bit, and make us practice over and over until we got the "uh" or the "woohoo" just right. Listening to those songs now reminds me of her and how much fun we had on our trips. Now I can listen whenever I want because I got Michael Jackson's Number Ones CD for Christmas.
2. This is a weird one. I have four less teeth than the average person. One of my molars didn't have a permanent tooth underneath. So when before I got braces, the dentist pulled out that molar, and one permanent molar from each side of my mouth. I kept those molars for years in the little plastic cup they gave me. I don't know if I still have them! Another thing about my teeth, I only lost about 6 teeth naturally. All the others were pulled out by the dentist at one time or another. I sure hope my kids get David's teeth and not mine!!!
3. One of my favorite places on earth is Nauvoo. I love its beauty, its history, and its spirit. It is amazing how prevalent the spirit is. As you walk down the street it is so amazing to think that Joseph once walked where you are walking. One thing that impressed me was how the spirit changes when I walked down the street and entered the RLDS's section of Nauvoo. It's something you'll have to experience to understand. I have been to Nauvoo three times - once in February for the reenactment of when the saints left (it was one degree colder when we were there than when the Saints left [-13*F]), once in the Fall with my young women's group, and once with my stake for youth conference. I can't wait until I can go back!
4. David is the only guy that I have ever kissed!!! And I wouldn't have it any other way.
5. I have been to 24 of the 50 states. I recently added Arizona to the list. In 39 days I will add Ohio and Kentucky to the list. I only listed states I can remember being in. My family drove to SC when I was 4 but I don't remember the drive, only SC. I have included in the number states that I have landed in for lay overs. I guess the only one so far was Georgia, and soon Kentucky. My goal is to visit each of the 50 states!!! The italicized states are the ones I have lived in.
California, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Florida, and Texas.
6. Some people know this, but I really miss living in Nebraska. I love Nebraska. I take it hard when people tell me that Nebraska is boring to drive through. I know it is a long drive, but the state is beautiful. If I could I would go to Nebraska for every vacation. I love the plains and how it seems that you can see forever. I love the zoo there. The Henry Doorly Zoo is the most incredible zoo I have ever been to!!! It is another of my favorite places. I could go on and on about the zoo, but I won't. I lived in Nebraska for almost 7 years and I would love to live there for the rest of my life!!! But, we'll see.
I tag Becky.

More tales from kindergarten
So one of the boys in my class has been giving me A LOT of hugs since Monday or Tuesday. It was about 4 or 5 hugs a day. Well, today he probably gave me at least 10 hugs. When he was leaving after school got out, he gave me a big hug. I asked him "Why are you giving me so many hugs?" (in a nice way of course). His reply to me was, "Because I love you!" He had the biggest smile on his face when he said that. It was so adorable! It totally made my day.
A couple months ago, the mother of another boy in my class told me about her son's grandparents questioning him about school. They asked him if he liked his teacher. His reply to them was a very shy, "I love her!" So cute!!!
Today a girl in my class was not feeling very well. I told her she should probably go home, but she just cried! At recess time I asked her why she didn't want to go home. She replied, "I just want to stay with you!" It made me feel so good!
I love teaching kindergarten because of how loving and innocent the children are. It's fantastic to be surrounded every day by little children.

Go Cougars!!!
Well, the Cougars did it!!! Today's game was very exciting! There wasn't much scoring the first half of the game. The best quarter was definitely the 4th when the Utes scored a touch down. BYU got the ball with a little over 1:30 on the clock. I thought we were done for when we were 4 and 18 and we were going for it. The results were incredible!!! My aunt and I were jumping up and down hugging and yelling. We almost fell on the bleacher below us. The Cougars eventually got a touch down! It was incredible!!! Way to go Cougars!!! And good game Utes!! Both teams played pretty well and the Ute fans sitting around me were very nice!

Cute Kids
I thought it would be fun to post pictures of my nieces and nephews because I think they are all so cute!!! I don't have a recent picture of Marcella, so that is why her picture is missing. Sorry!
First up, Emma! Emma is 4 years old. She is quite the little princess. She is very much a girly girl. She is such a sweet girl! On this particular day Emma had gotten in trouble for something. Shannon had her sit in the corner. When we went back to get her this is what we found! Let's just say that when she woke up she didn't feel so good.
This is Dallin. He is three years old. Dallin is hilarious! First of all, he is a tease! When it comes to college football his heart truly lies with the Cougars. However, sometimes he likes to switch in the fourth quarter and start cheering for the Utes. But don't let this fool you, he is a true blue cougar fan! Dallin has one of the funniest laughs! It is so contagious. Dallin is also great at catching his chickens. He has no fear when it comes to picking them up.
This is Lizbeth, aka Lizzy. She is 7 months old! Lizzy is so sweet and so happy! On this day I laid her on the grass at my parents' house. I think this was her first experience in the grass. She absolutely loved it. She looked so peaceful with her fingers and toes curled.
This is Josephine, aka Josie. She is 3 years old, also. Josie is super funny. She says lots of funny things like, "What's the deal?" "No fanks (thanks), Rose, no fanks." When we were visiting Nebraska, I walked into the hallway and found Josie tickling Anthony. Oh, another funny thing is that Josie doesn't really have a favorite blanket. She carries around spit rags with her. She calls them her buddies. It is so funny!
This is Anthony. He is 14 months old. He is so cute! He has some great facial expressions and one of the cutest smiles. I think he dreams of being a rock star because he loves to head bang. The second picture is Anthony at the zoo. He loves the zoo!
This is Lily. She is almost 6 months old. She is super cute! I haven't seen Lily since July. So one of the things she did when she was a few months old was really funny. She loved to lean her head way back when she was cradled in someone's arms. Then she would fall asleep. Very bizarre, but so cute! Lily, we are so excited to see you at Christmas time!
Marcella is 2 years old. She is an amazing talker. Marcella really has a thing for my purse. When I got a new purse I gave her my old one hopping to keep her out of my new old. No such luck though. She really likes my pictures in my purse. She particularly likes this picture of Emma in her blessing dress. She'll carry it around with her and show it to everyone. So fun!

Our Summer Trip to Nebraska
Here are more pictures from our June trip to Nebraska.
These pictures are from the COOLEST zoo in the WORLD!!!! It is one of my absolute favorite places on earth! It has an indoor jungle, amazing gorilla and orangutan exhibits, an indoor desert and bayou, an incredible aquarium, and tons and tons of animals. The Hogle Zoo is like a petting zoo compared to the Henry Doorly Zoo. You'll have to check it out for yourself someday!
This is Josie and I petting a shark and a sting ray in the lobby of the aquarium. We could only use one finger to touch it and we could only touch it for a second or two. Josie didn't quite understand the one finger concept!
David took this amazing picture of a jelly fish. In the aquarium they have a whole tank from floor to ceiling filled with jelly fish. The area it is in is dark so you can see the jelly fish really well.
This lion had a great time chewing on his tail. Although I 'm kinda sure that they aren't supposed to do that. Maybe he had a bad itch.
This is one of my absolute favorite animals! This is a three toed sloth. He lives in the jungle at the Henry Doorly Zoo. Sloths are one of the slowest creatures in the Amazon. They rarely ever move, so moss grows on them. However, during the rainy season the Amazon River floods. The once slow moving creature is now one of the fastest animals in the water!!! I think sloths are so cute and cool!
After we went to the zoo we went back to Becky's for dinner and to drop the kids off. Then Becky and I went to the Soul 2 Soul 2007 concert. It was incredible! I also learned how to use a function on my camera so I was able to take some cool pictures of Tim and Faith! This was the first night of their tour!
Isn't he dreamy!
This dress that Faith Hill has on is the same dress she wore the night she chewed out a lady for inappropriately touching Tim! Go Faith! "Stand by your man!"
One day while Becky was at the dentist in Papillion, I took David around Papillion and showed him the house I grew up in. I also showed him my elementary school, my junior high, and my high school. I love Papillion so much and would love to live there again!!! It was really great to be able to show David my old house and explain different things so he has a better idea of what I'm talking about when I tell him stories from Papillion.
Here is my elementary school. This is Tara Heights! I was a Tara Tiger.
David and I also spent a day driving to various church history sites in Nebraska and Iowa. We went to Winter Quarters and to the Kanesville Tabernacle. These next two pictures are from the Winter Quarters Cemetery. This statue is one of my favorites. I love how prevalent the spirit is at Winter Quarters. And it has grown stronger there since they built the temple on the other side of the cemetery. Josie really enjoyed the cemetery and visitors center.
The Friday before we left Matt, Becky, David and I went boating in Iowa. We had a blast!!! I water skied for a while. I had lots of great falls! Once I let go of the rope but I kept skiing for a few seconds until I decided to sit down in the water. Another time I went out of the wake and leaned over way too far and skipped on the water much like a rock skips on the pond. That didn't feel very good. My last fall caused me great anguish!!! I thought I had broken my ankle. I had to have help getting out of the water and into the boat. Luckily I had a RN on board with me and Nurse Becky examined my ankle. I don't know what I did to my ankle but it sure did hurt for a month or so after! This picture was taken before I went skiing.
Aren't we cute!!!
We had a blast on our trip!!! We can't wait to go again! I love Nebraska so much and miss it all the time! Thanks Matt, Becky, Josie and Anthony for the wonderful time!!! Oh yes, and Thanks Holly!!! I enjoyed snuggling and playing with you! (Holly is a miniature pinscher.)
Our new apartment
This post is for Becky's sake. We promised her a long time ago to show her pictures of our new apartment, but we haven't done it yet. So here are the pictures!
This is our kitchen. The door in the back leads to our bedroom.
This is our kitchen. The door in the back leads to our bedroom.
This is our living room. It is really cozy! We really like the fake fireplace!
This is David's study. If and when we have a baby this is where the baby's "room" will be. The computer will then find a new home in our house. P.S. I love that computer! At the moment I really hate this mac that I am working on! PCs are just so much easier!
These are our big closets!! David is very grateful that he has a closet all to himself now!!! The picture and family board hang above our bed. Sorry we don't have a picture of what our bedroom actually looks like now. We haven't taken one. But if you would like one we can post one later.
I think to truly understand how much of an improvement our bathroom is over our old one you would have to see a picture of our old bathroom. I will find one and put it on later! Here is our nice big shower (that has a bathtub) and our way-cool vanity that has sides that pull out like drawers.
And last but most definitely not least is our washer/dryer combo. It is so nice to be able to do laundry whenever we want and however often we want without having to take it to a laundromat. It is also nice not lugging it with us whenever we visit our parents.
Our aparment also has lots of storage. We have a "cupboard under the stairs" where we keep my craft stuff and our holiday stuff. We also have a closet by our laundry closet where we keep games, blankets, the vacuum, etc. And we have a furnace room where we keep our food storage.
One of the best features of this basement is the lack of bugs!! No more earwigs crawling on my dishes, on my couch, or in my hair! And we don't find spiders nearly as often as we did in our old place. We really like our new home!

Lessons from Kindergarten
As most of you probably know, I started teaching kindergarten in August. This has been quite the adventure thus far. I currently have 22 students in my class and all my students stay with me all day. At first I had a lot that had a difficult time with this. However, now they are all doing very well with it. My students are lots of fun and are all very unique. I have 8 girls and 14 boys. All I have to say is that when the majority of a group is male, the atmosphere is rather unique. I guess I have one more thing to say, I really pray that I have daughters!!! I would love to have an even number of boys and girls when we have kids. But we'll see.
So back to my class, I have had some pretty interesting experiences. I have a boy who calls himself Naughty Robot. Apparently this is from the Incredibles. Anyway, he will smack his head at completely random times and say "bong!" At first it really annoyed me, but now I love it! I think he is awesome. Today I had a boy who had just gone to the bathroom and then came out and talked to me. I didn't completely understand exactly what he was saying, but the main gist of it had something to do with his privates and how he tucked them in. Totally bizarre!! Another funny thing happened yesterday. We aren't sure what little girl this was, but we do know she is a kindergartner. This little girl was swinging and then heard her teacher call her class to line up. She proceeded to sing "I believe I can fly" as she jumped off the swing. Her song promptly ended when she fell instead of flew!
Teaching kindergarten can be very hard at times. It can be so taxing when you have numerous kids yelling "teacher, teacher" to get your attention. However, it is so rewarding!!! One little boy could only draw circles for his name when school started. Now, he is actually writing his name (bless his mother for working with him at home)!!! It is so exciting to see a child's fire really light as they begin to learn and explore in school.
I plan on posting many more fun things from my experiences teaching kindergarten!

David's Birthday
We want to thank everyone who came for David's birthday. We hope you all had a nice time visiting and eating. David really appreciated having everyone here and missed those who couldn't come because of work. I'll post pictures of his birthday at another time. For now I'll share something really cute and funny that happened. Our bedroom door was open allowing people to see our bedroom and our bed. On our bed we have some animals from Build-a-bear. Marcella was standing by the table, I think, and saw the pig. She starts running to the bed while saying, "Pig! Pig! Pig!" When she got to the room David's mom told her she needed to ask me first if she could play with it. So she turned to me and gave me her cute grin and asked to play with the pig. Who can refuse such a cute little girl? I thought it was hilarious! She carried the pig around with her pretty much the rest of the time they were there!

home sweet home
my wife is stomping around everywhere in our new apartment, and it is really funny to watch! just kidding, we love our new place and we love how much more room we have and how peaceful it is here. i was looking for my camera but i can't find it so i will put pictures up later on today maybe. this weekend has been a little crazy, we have been shopping like mad at stores and yard sales, pretty much anywhere wee can think of to help rosalee get ready for school. she received a ton of free stuff at the local stores for teacher appreciation week. things like folders for a penny each and free markers, paperclips, notepads, pocket folders pens and pencils, you name it. i had fun supporting her in her job this last week and i know that she is going to be a great teacher. i am very proud of her and i wish her the best of luck.
i am looking forward to tomorrow when our families will come down to celebrate my birthday, not only will there be cake but you will all get to see our home again!

Breakfast time!
I was feeding Anthony this morning when he started head-banging (his favorite dance move). His head hit the spoon so he ended up with peach sauce on his head . Then he did his cute smile where he squints his eyes all up and kinda tilts his head up.
Spaghetti Night!!!!
Matt made us all spaghetti Saturday night. He makes his own spaghetti sauce. The recipe is a family tradition. The spaghetti is really good. It was Anthony's first time eating spaghetti. He really liked it. Josie loves it too. She probably had 7 helpings. The kids looked like little oompa loompas because their faces turned orange. Becky really had to scrub their faces to get the orange off.
Josie's bathtime! Notice the orange face, even though she's been scrubbed down!
Our Fantastic Trip to Nebraska
We arrived safely in Nebraska Friday morning. We (meaning I, Rosalee, drove and David slept) most of the night. We did stop to sleep for about 3 hours. Anyway, we have been having a lot of fun with my sister Becky and her family. Josie is really cute. She is always looking for me and calling my name. But when she gets upset she runs to David! David likes that. Josie is 2 1/2 and lots of fun! Anthony is almost 10 months. He is cutting his first tooth! He is such a happy boy. He's got an adorable smile. Josie calls him "little boy". He's not really that little. He weighs 20 pounds. He's also got a very large head (it's in the 70th percentile). But he sure is cute.
This is Anthony! Isn't he cute?
And here is Josie with David (whom she sometimes calls Jacob).
