I was helping Gracie with her Valentines for school yesterday night. She has been wanting to make her Valentines all week. She even started writing her own. We found some cute ones here and were writing the kids in her class names on them. She has been desperately in love with one specific little boy since school started. She tells me about how they are getting married and how he kissed her on the cheek at lunch one day. Brennen. His name is Brennen and she "can't get her heart off of him."
A few days ago Gracie came home from school and told me that her friend Amy loves Justin Bieber. She wanted to hear his songs on the computer. We looked him up and immediately she decided she wants to marry him. Fickle little thing isn't she.
So yeah, we were working on her Valentines and we got to Brennen's name. I had been telling her she couldn't give the "love" Valentine to any boys. I thought she would want to give Brennen that one. But she picked out the "friends 4 ever" one for him. I said, "I thought you were in love with Brennen?"
Gracie's response? "He just isn't on my mind anymore." She is in love with only Justin Bieber now. And I have to say, I would rather have her be in love with a pop star than a boy in her class that she wants to grow up and marry any day!

Did someone say cheese?
Brigham hasn't been feeling very good lately. David brought home a nasty sinus infection and Brigham got it. But I think yesterday he started feeling better. He seriously didn't stop smiling all afternoon, all the way until bed time. Oh yeah and I had to throw in the picture of him trying to suck on both fists at the same time. Haha love it!
I am Sam. Sam I am.
Sammy surprised us yesterday evening by writing his name. I have been working with him a little on spelling and recognition, but I didn't know he could wite it. What a little smarty-pants!

Sledding
We went sledding a couple of weeks ago. I don't love sledding. It was really fun when I was younger, but now that I have little kids... not so much because they REALLY don't like it. The hill we found was to big for Benson, and even Sammy cried when he fell in the snow. Brigham is too small to go down the hill at all. These pictures are from the very end of our sledding trip. David said he always wanted to do this. I was worried he was going to end up running over one of the kids.

Christmas Eve
The kids and I spent the evening of Christmas Eve with David's brother Micah and their family (David was on call at the hospital). We had SO MUCH FUN! Thank you so much Micah and Sarah.
Asher and Benson are best pals. Benson is always talking about Asher and Asher is always talking about Benson. We LOVE living close to cousins! They both sat here on this stair eating their Christmas cookies. I tried and tried to get them to sit together and smile at me for a picture, but it was impossible. Asher is standing in this one.
Finally both sitting, but neither one looking at me. Oh well. We tried. These boys love to play together and are so funny when they are playing.

I love Asher's blue eyes!
The kids got sillier and sillier as the evening progressed. The near visit of Santa plus the sugar levels in their blood both contributed to that I think.
We acted out the nativity on Christmas Eve. Elsa was a sheep. Isn't she sweet!
Micah was Joseph. Sarah was Mary. Brigham got to be baby Jesus.

Christmas in February
I know Christmas was ages ago, but I haven't been able to find the cord for my camera. David downloaded the pictures using our printer the other day. I confess I forgot you could even do that. So anyway here is Christmas in February.
David worked all day Christmas Eve and all night Christmas night. He was supposed to get done around 8:30am Christmas morning. I made the executive decision that we could wait that long to see what Santa brought. But just because David was supposed to get off work at 8:30 doesn't mean he did. The kids woke up between 6 and 7. We all piled onto my bed and watched The Santa Clause while we waited... and waited... and waited for David to come home. By 9:30 we were all getting hungry, but I knew I couldn't let them out of my room or they would be sneaking down to the tree. I quickly grabbed some oranges and we sat and ate them in my bed until David got home around 10 o'clock. That was the longest Christmas morning of my life!!! Then the kids ran down like a flash to see what Santa had left.
