Zoolights

Image
We went to Zoolights at the Hogle Zoo with our friends, The Stoddards, this Monday evening. Taylor loved it and kept talking and pointing at everything the whole time. He was a little bit nervous about the carousel :) It was fun, but really pretty cold with an icy wind, so this is how Tay spent much of the time: Well, we are off to Germany in a couple of hours to visit Ian & Bonnie for 3 weeks! (The plane tickets are our Christmas present from my parents-Thank you!) Taylor enjoyed helping me pack last night. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!!!

HaPpY HaLLoWeEn!

After searching through costumes online I decided that it would be silly of me to buy one when I am perfectly capable of sewing one...although it definitely cost more to buy the supplies than it would have to buy a $20-$25 costume from Walmart or Target. So when I randomly got a weekend off from typing dictations I jumped at the chance to get it done. He is supposed to be a Dalmation, but David says I made the ears too big and he looks like a speckled mouse. Oh well, either way I think it is cute :) *** Halloween was fun this year because Taylor could tell something was going on. He was a little shy when Trick-or-Treating, but loved sorting through and playing with his candy afterwards. He only ate a little :) When Taylor Trick-Or-Treated to Grandma Cindy, he had a little surprise. The big bucket is for him, and the little one is for his sibling who is coming in May 2010! Yep...we have a 2nd baby on the way. I am just over 12 weeks pregnant and feeling even sicker than last time. T

Marie's Wedding

Image
Marie Dayton Purcell and Tiafau Purcell Because I missed reading posts about what is going on with our family, and since Heather is busy, I (David) have decided to post. I don't know if I will enjoy reading my own post as much as I like reading Heather's, but chances are I will (although I may be less surprised by what is written). Aren't weddings great? I really like going to weddings, especially when they are close family members getting married. One of the things that I enjoy most about weddings (besides the luncheon, getting to see family we haven't seen in a while, the reception (with food), getting rid of another sister, gaining another brother-in-law) is being able to think about my own wedding/marriage. It is incredible that it has been almost 4 1/2 years since we got married (and even more amazing that Heather is still married to me). A lot of people talk about how grateful they are for their wives or how supportive their wife is. I don't think that anyone

The Pack Trip

Image
I'm a little late posting this because I thought David was going to, but here are some pictures from his pack trip in Wyoming a couple of weeks ago:

Scrunchy Face

Image
Taylor has a new face that he makes all the time that we think is hilarious. David calls it a 'Duck' Face. I think it looks more like a little monkey or gorilla. Either way - it is so silly and cute. It took a while to actually capture an image of him doing it.

My Cowboy Husband

We are back in Utah!!! We came home a little bit earlier than we originally planned because David really wanted to go on a pack trip with his little brother this summer. A pack trip is when you ride horses up into the mountains to camp - you pack your things in on a horse, hence "pack" trip. He left early Monday morning and will get home late Saturday night. He has been preparing like crazy for this trip and is really excited about it. He is going to spend the week riding, fishing, camping, & having male bonding time. :) *** I'm sure we will have plenty of pictures to post of the actual trip, but I took a few of him riding the horses in preparation for the trip because although he has always told me he is a cowboy, I've never really seen it. Well - here is the proof: David looking totally natural in wranglers, boots, & a cowboy hat-haha!!! The picture above is David on the horse that he broke. :) Taylor absolutely loved riding the horse with David and threw

Cokeville

Image
Last weekend we made the 8 hour trek (each way) to Cokeville, Wyoming for the Dayton Family gathering & to celebrate the 24th of July. David's sister Sara and her husband Chris and their baby Christopher flew here to Colorado to make the road trip with us. It was a fun weekend! Activities Included: The Parade A BBQ at Pine Creek Surprising Grandma & Jessie (they didn't know we were bringing Chris, Sara, and Christopher) Running the David Dayton Memorial 5K Jumping off Taylor Bridge into the Creek Trampoline Static :) Visiting David's Father's Grave Taylor kept reaching out to touch the picture of his Grandpa, it was very sweet.

Summer Weekend Adventures

Image
This summer we have tried to do as many fun things as possible on the weekends. There are a ton of cool things to do in and near Colorado Springs. Here are some of our adventures shown in the order we did them:

Colorado Skies

Image
Since the moment we arrived David and I have been amazed by the beautiful skies in Colorado Springs. They are always magnificent whether they are filled with puffy cumulous clouds and sunshine or are brimming with the dark and ominous clouds of a storm or are ablaze with all the glory of a summer sunset. Honestly, can you think of a more beautiful place to swing your baby??? It is gorgeous here!
