Lucky to be Alive

Image
This weekend, we drove all the way up to Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota to surprise David's sister & husband, Chrissy & Kevin. They didn' t think anybody could come to their baby blessing, so we brought all of David's siblings but one - his little brother who got sick last week. Anyway, it was an 18 hour drive, so we left on Friday at 11am, and got there Saturday at 8am. *It's coooold in North Dakota - this is what all the windows looked like after driving throught the night - and this was on a "warm" weekend!* *Waiting for Kevin to come get us at the entrance to the base - after 18 hours of travel!* Kevin had to let us in at the entrance to the base, so we tricked him into coming without knowing it was us - he thought it was an aunt and uncle who live closer to them. He kept staring at the car, not knowing what to think. When David finally got out - he jumped out of his car and they both got huge smiles and gave each other big hugs. When

Valentine's Day 2008

Image
This Valentine's Day was pretty busy, so David surprised me and gave me beautiful roses and lilies on Wednesday night. He was also so excited about my gift that he gave it to me then as well. Might I mention that we had decided not give each other gifts...classic David trick. Anyway, his present wasn't anything small - it was a new video iPod with a cute pink leather case. I was excited/upset until I found out that he bought it mostly with gift cards that he got from work for being in the lead in their fitness challenge...so I guess it's okay. :) Anyway, he is SUCH a sweetheart like that. I had actually bought him an iTunes gift card and a plug for the car and wall for his iPod - so it was kind of an iPod-themed Valentine's Day. *David getting pumped for the game.* On Valentine's Day evening, we went to Babies-R-Us to check out strollers, carseats, changing tables, cribs, etc... it's something I've wanted to do for a while, but we're just never free at

David Taylor Dayton III

*Baby Taylor's little tummy and profile.* Well, the ultrasound went great yesterday. Our baby looks perfect in every way! :) It was also very obvious that our little one is a male. We are so excited for our first little baby to be a boy so he can carry on his grandfather's wonderful name. We are going to call him Taylor, so there isn't too much confusion. Here is a little preview of what we hope our little guy will look like: If he looks exactly like David did in the pictures above, I'll be more than happy! But maybe he'll happen to get a few features from his mom:

A New Generation of BYU Fans...

David's sister, Chrissy, had her first baby about 3 weeks ago. April Marie is the first grandbaby on David's side, and ours will be the first on my side - so she makes us an aunt and uncle finally! When we first found out that Chrissy was pregnant, we bought the baby a BYU onesie - and she sent us a picture of little April in it last week- sooo cute!

State Swimming

My brother, Thomas, is the one in the circle on the upper right without a cap and a little bit of hair still left on his head. :) *** This past weekend, I spent most of Friday evening and Saturday morning & afternoon at the 5A State Swim Meet watching my brother swim. It was pretty intense. Even though he obviously can't hear the cheering while in the water, I was still standing up yelling my lungs out every time he swam. It was lots of fun, but very hot, humid, and chlorine-y. When I left on Saturday, I discovered I had a weird rash all over my cheeks and neck. We think it's a heat rash - apparently your skin is a lot more sensitive when you are pregnant! The competitors warming up in the pool - it looked like ants swarming when they all jumped in!

Almost half-way!

I'll be half-way through my pregnancy this next Monday, and I'm finally beginning to look pregnant! Our ultrasound is scheduled for this coming Tuesday, the 12th - then I can start buying lots of baby things! I started to feel the baby kick last week, and it is such a cool feeling. It just feels like little twitches and flutters right now - so I'm excited for it to be a little bit stronger so that David can feel it too.

Another Snowy Weekend

We spent Saturday night at my parent's home in SJ with plans to leave early the next morning to head up to Brigham City to see my grandma and go to church with her. When I got up to get ready around 6:00am, I looked outside and saw that it was snowing like crazy. After checking the road conditions, my parents decided to go to an early sacrament meeting and then check again. David and my Dad spent the morning shoveling snow in the driveway - which replaced itself almost as quickly as they shoveled it. *David & my Dad* We went to church at 9 and headed up to Brigham. We got there just as they got out of church at 12. We spent the early afternoon visiting, preparing food, and singing hymns to my grandma. *Eli, Daniel, & Nicholas* After we ate dinner, my little brother and two little cousins went out to play in the backyard (they usually aren't allowed to on Sundays, but they really needed to get out of the house and away from the 'boring adults' and run around for
