Halloween 2013

I wanted Marcus to tell us what he wanted to be for Halloween. I wasn't surpised when he said he wanted to be a Cow. He was the cutest cow there ever was. I found a cute mouse costume at Costco and realized I couldn't make a costume for as cheap as I could buy one at costco.

Dave's family got together to show off the kids costumes, carve a few pumpkins and let the kids have some fun.

We tried making caramel apples. The first batch we made homemade caramel and it turned out great, except it hardened to the point of breaking a tooth. We tried it again with caramels and it turned out much better. I think we started a new tradition.

Marcus loves to make sugar cookies so we made halloween sugar cookies and he ate them all month long.

My family got together for my sister's yummy homemade donuts. The kids looked so cute in their costumes, some were not there but we still had a great time.

We carved pumpkins for our front porch - a "Baby's 1st" halloween pumpkin for Lucy, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood pumpkin for Marcus, a "trick-or-treat" for mommy, a bone for toby, daddy did a minion and Jack Skelington.

We trick-or-treated at Daddy's work - Newmark Grubb Acres. Daddy dressed up as Buddy the Elf.

Then we went trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. Marcus did great at saying trick-or-treat even though he was sick with a cold. Lucy tagged along and mommy and daddy ate her candy.

Sunday Snippets

:: Marcus ::

1. For some reason he is playing so much better with
Lucy and giving her hugs and kisses when she cries. (we think it
may be because of a new show he loves "Daniel Tigers Neighborhood" that
teaches so many great things!)
2. He watches "Daniel Tigers Neighborhood" on the i-pad
in his favorite spot which is by the kitchen table on the floor leaning up against the wall.
3. He loved jumping in all of the leaves in our backyard and thought
it was hilarious when I buried him except for his head.
4. I went with Marcus to Gardner Village with his pre-school and he would
not sit with any of the other kids for a picture - he was being a stinker.
5. He doesn't take a nap anymore but anytime we get in the car
he falls asleep right away.

:: Lucy ::

1. When I lay her down she always rolls over and rubs her hand over the sheet
until it gets to the end of the mattress and then she holds on to the edge. I watch for
it every time and it's so darn adorable.
2. She will walk with your help.
3. She loves to pull herself up to things and then stand.
4.  She still won't keep any bow in her hair, drives me crazy
5. She loved being at the park - her favorite is the swings.

A fall afternoon at the park

We have loved this warm weather so late in the fall and Marcus really enjoys going to the park. Lucy is starting to enjoy it also.
