Thanksgiving 2012

We hosted Thanksgiving this year because we were starting the re-model of our bathroom and thought it would be better for Dave to be home as much on Thanksgiving to work on the bathroom. The family humored us and we had a great Thanksgiving. We were in charge of the turkey and sweet potatoes. Dave deep fried the turkey, with his brother's help, and after a long wait the turkey turned out great! The kids played and we all had a relaxing time visiting.

Toby sat here and stared at the turkey for at least 20 minutes while we did the dishes! It was hilarious! He did get a lot of turkey to eat!

34 weeks baby bump

I am physically ready to have this baby. This past week has been physically exhausting. We are painting Marcus's new room and Dave took out the tub and tile in our bathroom. So we are getting closer to being ready in our home for this little girl. I have one more doctor appointment before I start going weekly to the doctor's. I am starting to look at deep cleaning the house :(. I wish I could pay someone to do that for me. But it's good exercise and Marcus is a great helper.  I already have our christmas cards picked up and ready to address (Dave won't let me send them out before Thanksgiving) and I'm hoping to have the rest of Christmas bought on Cyber Monday. Then I can breath and enjoy these last few weeks and the holidays.

Baby Sister is moving around like crazy, she pushes with her hands and feet on opposite sides of my belly, really hard. I usually have to push her back so she doesn't hurt me. She also gets the hiccups at least once a day, it feels so weird. Marcus didn't have the hiccups this much. I did have a weird craving this week - Cheetos puffs. I went through a bag within a few days. It's not healthy but I don't care. It's the only craving I have had.

At my doctor's appointment a week ago I schedule my induction date, I know people think we are crazy. We might induce for tax reasons. I scheduled it just for peace of mind. My doctor will induce only a week early so our induction date is December 27th at 6:45 AM. I have a feeling this baby will come before then so I'm not too worried.

sorry, I don't have a picture :)

Sunday Snippets

1. Marcus has finally learned how to say "yes" or "yea" - and he kind of knows the difference
between yes and no. It's making our lives easier to talk to him
2. He LOVES to look at pictures of our family, he wants to
look on the computer of him when he was a baby and of daddy mostly.
3. He has picked up a screaming thing lately, it's really embarrassing in church
but we know it's our turn to have the screaming kid in church.
4. He was so excited about all of the christmas stuff and decorating the tree. When we
got out his play set nativity I tried to show him where the baby Jesus goes
and where the angel goes - on top to play the music. However he puts the baby Jesus on top to
play the music, it's pretty cute.
5. With Dave re-modeling our bathroom Marcus has wanted to help his
daddy every minute, he gets his tools out and then he goes through
all of Dave's tools (the safe ones) and just wants to be right by Dave's side - such a boy's boy.

"The Friend" Christmas Party

I love that my friends still get together every year for christmas. The four of us were friends through high school and have kept in touch in order to keep our friendships going. Ashleigh volunteered her house in Spanish Fork so we all gathered and had a great time visiting and chasing a few kiddies around.

Sunday Snippets

1. Marcus is obsessed with chapstick. Anytime I put some on, he has
to also put it on. He will find it anywhere and everywhere - my work bag, the bathroom, the kitchen.
2. He loves to pray. When we eat he wants to pray in between each bite. He reminds
us to pray if we don't pray at night or over our food. He's teaching us all the time!
3. We learned that he will eat all of his dinner if we bribe him with
dessert. Hey, whatever gets him to eat his vegetables and meat!
4. We started watching christmas movies this week and he is
in love with "Polar Express" - or "choo choo".
5. All of the snow has melted and marcus will look out the
back window and say in a sad voice "snow" and hold up his hands.
6. Another of his favorites is the berry smoothies at costco.

SNOW!!!!

I love the snow! I am one of the few in Utah that love when it snows, no matter when. I don't mind driving in it when I have to but I try to avoid driving in it. So this huge snow storm was so much fun. I told Marcus that daddy would take him outside since I knew I wouldn't be able to really do anything being so pregnant. Last year Marcus didn't like the snow at all! This year he liked it a little bit better but he just loved following dave outside.

Sunday Snippets

1. Marcus has been overly huggy and kissy, those are not words I know. But
he randomly gives us hugs and kisses and this morning just wanted to sit
on Dave's lap when we were eating breakfast, it was adorable.
2. We let marcus go outside after the snow (post coming soon) and
he didn't like it as much as we thought he would.
3. He has started asking to go downstairs and watch TV with us, but
not alone, he likes to watch with us. He doesn't last long but
he likes to cuddle on the couch.
4. Marcus and Toby still have a love - hate relationship, they love to play
but it always ends in tears.
5. Marcus loves to wake up and run to the sliding glass door
and say "snow".

32 weeks baby bump

Technically I'm 33 weeks but I'm having a hard time keeping up on these weekly posts. I have hit the tired stage of the third trimester. I've also been having serious braxton-hicks contractions, which I wasn't expecting. They come at night before bedtime and a few have been pretty long. Luckily after talking to my sisters I found out with each subsequent pregnancy that is normal. I feel huge but know I will only get bigger. She is very active and gets the hiccups quite often. My back continues to ache, specifically on Saturdays when I clean a lot. Physically I am ready to have this baby but in every other way we are not ready. We have started on Marcus's room, which is good progress.  I realized we don't have any newborn diapers and even though I have time, I realized we were more prepared for Marcus coming. We haven't finalized a name, but we are taking our list into the hospital with us. I have been thinking about how excited I am to see Marcus's face when he comes in the hospital room and sees his little baby sister, i can't wait for that moment. I also have been thinking about how different or the same this labor might be to the first one. I hope the pushing is shorter, I've heard it will be. We are now hoping this baby comes before Christmas, we might be trying every trick in the book to induce labor before Christmas, depending on how dilated I am in December. I don't have any cravings just continually try and find something to satisfy my appetite, I'm constantly hungry. Let's hope I can make it through the next few weeks with this belly growing!

The backyard and Fall Leaves

I love our backyard in the fall! We have two big trees that have beautiful leaves. One good thing about buying an old house is that we have fully grown trees.

Sunday Snippets

1. Marcus has fallen in love with Nursery Rhymes, especially the
singing ones with actions. His favorite one is Wheels on the Bus.
2. His nursery leaders told us he loves "Ring around the rosie" so we
try and sing it at night before he goes to bed. When we say the name he gets
the biggest grin on his face and stands up so excited.
3. He still wants it to be summer time, he will eat ice and popsicles
outside all day long if I let him.
4. He has learned how to swing on his stomach and on his bum. He will
go outside and swing for half an hour by himself. It's really cute to watch.
5. He loves to grab books from his room and bring them out
to the couch and read them together on the couch.
