Sunday Snippets

1. Marcus has been teething ALL WEEK! His molars are coming in on all sides
and his nose has been running constantly! But we are happy that he will
now be able to eat more foods with more teeth in!
2. Marcus is in to everything! All drawers, all cupboards and climbing on everything. It' s
hard to keep up with but I love his energy.
3. Marcus loves to laugh, the other day right before going down for
his nap he was so giggly. He would laugh at everything
I did or say, it was adorable.
4. He is so smart and understands so much of what Dave and I
say and do. The other day Dave farted and Marcus looked at him and pinched
his nose (which he knows means P.U. you stink!). Dave and I were rolling on the floor laughing
5. Anytime I bake something Marcus grabs the stool and points towards
the top of the fridge for me to get the apron. He LOVES to help me bake, such a good helper.

Sunday Snippets

1. Marcus loves to explore new food, especially sweets and candy, since he hasn't
had that much up until now. After we give him something he things is
really yummy he will say "MMMMMMMMM" for a really long
time, it's adorable!
2. We just noticed today that Marcus has cut another molar on his bottom right side
and a side tooth up front. We had no idea. Because his teeth are
coming in so slow they are now coming in all at once, the
poor little guy.
3. He learned how to say "Ba" for ball and book!!
4. He is in love with the ball popper toy we bought him a year ago for
Easter, he will play with it for a good half an hour (which for his attention
span is really good)
5. He can now climb up on the couch and loves to watch TV with you, but
only for about 10 minutes or less and then he is off doing
something else. But I love those 10 minutes of cuddle TV watching
time with my little guy.

Watching daddy shovel the driveway, he loves to have the door open
all day long to just look outside

Finally SNOW!!

We bought Marcus a snow suit last year on clearance so that we wouldn't have to buy one full price for when it snowed this year. The only time we have used it so far was during christmas when we went to see the lights and when we went to the Candlelight Christmas at This is the Place Park. Because the snow has been so light and here and there we have not had a good day where we could bundle Marcus up and take him out in the snow. So this morning when we woke up and saw the 3 inches of snow outside we were so excited to play with Marcus in the snow. He looked so cute bundled up and could hardly walk! We took him outside and put him in the snow and he tried to walk, fell down and immediately started crying! It was so cute! Lesson learning, an 18 month old does not enjoy the snow - don't buy a snow suit for him.

A Tractor

Our neighbor is doing a lot of work to his yard and he hired a guy to come help remove some trees. This guy showed up with a tractor! Marcus watched out the front window all morning long and then was lucky enough to get his picture taken on the tractor. He didn't know quite what to think but he looks adorable up there!

V-Day 2012

I have always loved Valentine's Day. It's not the roses, flowers, cards, candy, it's the fact that everyone around you is saying "I love you". Even if you are not married or dating someone you still have people in your life that need to hear you say "I love you". So this year Dave and I decided not to do anything for each other except a card. We are trying hard to get our of debt and finish some rooms in our house that are half finished. We made each other cards and Dave did get me some Reese's hearts, my favorite candy, and i made him some homemade chocolate covered strawberries. Very simple but we both loved it! We got Cafe Rio for dinner so we could spend time together as a family and then after Marcus went to bed Dave and I watched "The Biggest Loser" and went to bed at 10. Isn't that the most romantic Valentine's Day ever! It was perfect for us and Marcus loved helping me make the chocolate covered strawberries, as you can tell from his face! I LOVE my family so so much!

Sunday Snippets

1. Marcus is starting to be a better eater. For a few weeks he was really
picky but now he is doing a lot better of eating a variety of foods.
2. We had to call poison control yesterday, we were cleaning
and left the cleaner in the toilet to let it soak and marcus found the toilet
and drank some of the water with the cleaner. It didn't affect him but it was more
traumatizing for us to have to call poison control.
3. Marcus loves to pull Toby's ears, we can't figure out how to get him to understand
not to. Poor Toby has probably been traumatized by it all.
4. We bought marcus a toy play phone. He is always wanting to play with ours
and he needed one of his own to play with. So far he only likes to turn
it off and on because it says "hello" and "goodbye", he waves to the phone when it
says that. It's adorable.
5. We went to the library this week and Marcus loved it! He kept saying "babababa" for book.
We found a lot of fun new books to read!

18 months

I will take any milestone with my Marcus to take pictures! Dave and I are of course biased about how cute Marcus is, however I can honestly say we are not the only ones that say that. Strangers tell me all the time how cute he is and I don't argue. So when he turned 18 months I had to have a photo shoot with our family photographer, Scotty Moses. Thanks scotty, they turned out great!

18 Month stats:
  • Weight: 25 lbs -- 50th percentile
  • Height: 33 inches - 75th percentile

Sunday Snippets

1. Marcus wants to go outside SO BAD!!! He stands by the sliding glass door
on the back porch and whines.
2. I discovered a molar in marcus's mouth on Monday. That's right a molar. He
doesn't even have 6 teeth up front but he already has a molar. No teething
or up all night for a molar, the kid is amazing!
3. He loves to brush his teeth before he goes to bed. We usually
start with a snack with milk and read a few stories
then we tell him we need to brush his teeth and he runs right to the bathroom.
4. He will give you kisses when you ask, basically it's him turning his mouth
towards your mouth, open and slobbery, but so loveable!
5. The nursery leaders say that he loves to give hugs to all the other
kids and also share his toys
6. His favorite books to read are the BIG picture book, he wakes up in the morning
and immediately goes to his BIG books and goes over to the chair for me
to read to him.

A visit with Great Grandma and Grandpa

Marcus and I had a fun morning on Friday. We traveled out to Lake Point to see Great Grandma and Grandpa Jordan. Marcus loved it because grandpa got out his fun marble run that he made, it was amazing! Marcus loved it and had so much fun playing with grandma and grandpa. Thanks grandma and grandpa for a fun time!
